Non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor was developed for estimation of low-level ***/tungsten carbide(PIN/WC)nanocomposite was synthesized and used as an electroactive material to develop low-cost modified stainless steel plate electrode(SSPE).Surface morphology of developed electrode was characterized by scanning electron *** behavior of cholesterol was investigated through electron impedance spectroscopy,potentiodynamic polarization and cyclic voltammetry in 1-M KOH electrolytic *** quantification of cholesterol was studied by square wave voltammetry and differential pulse *** calibration plots between the cholesterol concentration and peak current were in linear relation with limit of detection of 1.23×10^(−6) mol L^(−1).The overall result reveals that developed PIN/WC/SSPE electrode has excellent performance for trace-level cholesterol estimation and can be further employed for cholesterol monitoring in blood serum samples.

A Systematic Literature Review of the Impact of Climate Change on Menopause: Altering the Age, Severity of Symptoms and Long-Term Effects

Objective: This systematic review investigates the impact of climate change on menopause, focusing on the correlation between geographical location—considering altitude, temperature, humidity, and annual temperature range—and women’s menopausal experiences. This study aims to interpret how these environmental factors influence the age of onset, severity of symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats, and other long-term effects of menopause. Understanding these relationships addresses a significant gap in current knowledge and could guide future public health strategies. Methods: Through a comprehensive analysis of three cross-continental studies involving 1500 postmenopausal women from Spain, South American countries (Ecuador, Panama, Chile), various climates in Türkiye (Black Sea, Mediterranean, Continental), and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), this review evaluates diverse environmental impacts. Studies were selected based on their methodological rigor, geographical diversity, and focus on the unique and personal experiences of menopause. Data was collected via questionnaires and routine medical checkups, analyzing demographic, lifestyle, mood, symptom severity, and onset age variables. Results: Preliminary analysis indicates that 52.5% of participants from Spanish-speaking countries and the UAE reported vasomotor symptoms, with those in higher temperatures and lower altitudes experiencing exacerbated symptoms. Notably, Mediterranean climates were associated with an earlier menopause onset. Seasonal changes had minimal impact across all regions, suggesting lifestyle and other environmental factors play a more significant role. Conclusions: The findings highlight a clear link between climate-related geographical factors and the menopausal experience. Women in warmer, lower-altitude regions suffer more severe symptoms, while those in Mediterranean climates face earlier onset. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease distinguished by progressive cognitive deterioration along with declining activities of daily living and behavioral changes. It is the commonest type of pre-senile and senile dementia. Many new therapeutic strategies have been developed in the last few years. We aimed at reviewing the evidence supporting these new therapeutic targets, including anti-amyloid and anti-Tau strategies. This review is focused on important future direction in investigation of potential therapeutic targets for AD drug discovery. Medical advances have improved treatment of many diseases but still there is a need to establish new tools for early diagnosis of AD. A thorough comprehensive understanding of the unexplored mechanism can ameliorate the diagnostic and therapeutic management of AD. There have been several disease-modifying therapeutic strategies for AD in the last few years and are presently at various phases of investigation. Few of them have shown promising results, but their safety and efficacy need to be further explored.

Biofiltration is emerging as a promising cost effective technique for the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) removal from industrial waste gases. In the present investigation a comparative modeling study has been carried out using Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFN) and Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to predict and optimize the performance of a biofilter system treating toluene (a model VOC). Experimental biofilter system performance data collected over a time period by daily measurement of inlet VOC concentration, retention time, pH, temperature and packing moisture content was used to develop the mathematical model. These independent variables acted as the inputs to the mathematical model developed using RSM and RBFN, while the VOC removal efficiency was the biofilter system performance parameter to be predicted. The data set was divided into two parts: 60% of data was used for training phase and remaining 40% of data was used for the testing phase. The average % error for RSM and RBFN were 7.76% and 3.03%, and R2 value obtained were 0.8826 and 0.9755 respectively. The results indicated the superiority of RBFN in the prediction capability due to its ability to approximate higher degree of nonlinearity between the input and output variables. The optimization of biofilter parameters was also done using RSM to optimize the biofilter performance. RSM being structured in nature enabled the study of interaction effect between the independent variables on biofilter performance.

Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) germplasm consisting 167 accessions including one check cultivar was evaluated for qualitative and quantitative traits. The present study was conducted to investigate genetic diversity and correlation among studied genotypes of B. juncea L. based on agro-morphological at NARC, Islamabad, Pakistan. To investigate the genetic diversity based on morphological characters, data was recorded on 20 quantitative and 12 qualitative traits. The calculated data was analyzed through two complementary methods, i.e. PCA (Principal Component Analysis) and cluster analysis. Among all the studied cultivars, significant diversity was recorded for different agro-morphological characters. Among all the parameters, maximum variance was recorded for pod shattering (427.2) followed by plant height (345.6), days to 100% flowering (336.2) and main raceme length (210.0). Among all the characters, the greatest and highly significant association (0.99) was found between days to maturity 50% and days to maturity 100% followed by correlation (0.86) among days to flowering 50% and days to flowering 100%, correlation value (0.71) was calculated among leaf length and leaf width. Using cluster analysis all the genotypes were divided into five major groups. It was observed that 7 out of 20 principal components with an Eigen value of ≥1.0 calculated for 73.92% of the total diversity observed between 167 accessions of Indian mustard (B. juncea L.). The contribution of first three PCs in the total PCs was 23.25, 12.87 and 11.24, respectively. Among all the investigated accessions two genotypes 26,813 and 26,817 showed great potential for seeds/silique, 1000-seed weight and seed yield/plant, respectively, so these genotypes are recommended for future breeding programs for achieving promising results.

目的:探究纳米复合佐剂在肿瘤内的免疫调控作用及抗肿瘤效果。方法:制备包载CpG的β葡聚糖纳米颗粒(CNP),体外培养小鼠骨髓来源的树突细胞(BMDC),分5组进行体外免疫处理,分别为PBS对照组、β葡聚糖组、β葡聚糖纳米载体(NP)组、CpG组和CNP组,利用流式仪分析BMDC成熟情况。将体外培养的黑色素瘤B16F10细胞接种于C57BL/6N小鼠右后肢皮下,建立肿瘤模型,第6 d挑选肿瘤大小相对一致的24只小鼠均分为4组,即PBS组、NP组、CpG组、CNP组进行治疗,后颈部皮下注射给药,共给药4次,每次间隔3 d,期间隔天测量肿瘤体积,最后一次给药后第3 d眼眶取血,测定血浆中γ干扰素(IFN-γ)浓度,处死小鼠后分离肿瘤及脾脏,流式细胞术检测瘤内浸润性T淋巴细胞比例及脾脏内T细胞比例。结果:CNP佐剂处理后BMDC成熟比例约为CpG佐剂组的2.8倍。在小鼠体内接种肿瘤15 d后,CNP治疗组肿瘤体积较其他组均减小,血浆中IFN-γ含量显著高于其他实验组,约为CpG组的1.5倍,肿瘤浸润性T淋巴细胞与其他组相比也有明显升高。结论:构建的葡聚糖-CpG纳米复合佐剂能够有效激活BMDC,改善肿瘤微环境,具有良好的体内抗肿瘤效果。
