Comparison of perceived pain and patients’ satisfaction with traditional local anesthesia and single tooth anesthesia: A randomized clinical trial

BACKGROUND Contemporary innovations in the area of local anesthesia have attempted to provide an absolutely pain free experience for *** the introduction of Computer-Controlled Local Anesthetic Delivery Systems to dentistry,many studies have compared its efficacy and safety to conventional ***,very few studies have compared single tooth anesthesia(STA)and traditional local *** To compare pain rating,changes in blood pressure,and heart rate during the local anesthetic *** secondary objectives were to measure the patients’level of satisfaction and the differences in anesthetic efficiency between the STA system and traditional local *** A randomized controlled trial was conducted and a total of 80 patients with dental restorative needs were enrolled for the *** patients were evaluated for their general physical status and oral clinical findings before *** regarding perceived pain,changes in heart rate and blood pressure,and patients’satisfaction was collected using an electronic data form and was analyzed using paired and unpaired *** No significant difference was noted in perceived pain(P=0.59)and systolic blood pressure(P=0.09)during anesthetic injection using both traditional and STA *** patients had a significantly higher heart rate during anesthesia,although a statistically significant difference was noted among the traditional anesthesia and the STA groups even before *** the restorative procedure,less pain was perceived by STA patients on the Wong-Baker FACES pain scale,which was statistically significant(Palyses of post-procedure patient responses showed that STA patients had a significantly better treatment experience and preferred to have the same method of injection in the future(P=0.04).CONCLUSION STA system can provide less painful and more comfortable restorative treatment procedures in comparison to the traditional infil

Phosphoric Acid Pretreatment and Saccharification of Paper Sludge as a Renewable Material for Cellulosic Fibers

Recycling of paper sludge waste is crucial for establishing a sustainable green *** waste contains valuable sugars that can be converted into important chemicals such as ethanol,poly hydroxybutyrate,and lactic ***,the main challenge in obtaining sugars in high yield from paper sludge is the high crystallinity of cellulose,which hinders *** address this,pretreatment using phosphoric acid was optimized using response surface methodology to facilitate cellulose hydrolysis with minimal energy and *** created prediction model using the response surface method considered factors such as acid concentration(ranging from 60%to 85%),consistency(ranging from 4%to 10%),temperature(ranging from 25℃to 80℃),and time(ranging from 0.5 to 4 h).The results revealed that the model’s significant factors affecting the yield were acid concentration,reaction time,temperature,and the product of acid concentration and temperature,while the model’s significant factors affecting the crystallinity were the consistency,the temperature,and their *** results showed that the optimum conditions for pretreatment were using an acid concentration of 64%,temperature of 25℃,consistency of 10%,and time of 30 *** hydrolysis of the conditionally pretreated paper sludge resulted in a weight loss of 42%,compared to only 18%weight loss in non-pretreated paper ***,the optimized conditions led to low levels of furfurals and acetic acid,which are undesirable by-products that can interfere with sugar *** total sugar obtained under the optimized conditions was 0.43 g glucose/g sample(10.46 g/L),while the contents of methyl furfural,furfural,and acetic acid were 21.65,235.7,and 4.57 mg/L,*** study demonstrates the potential of phosphoric acid for pretreatment and hydrolysis of paper sludge,enabling efficient saccharification and the production of sugars with minimal undesired by-products.

Osteogenesis imperfecta is a hereditary disease characterized by bone fragility due to a defect in type I collagen synthesis. The diagnosis is typically suspected based on suggestive ultrasound findings and confirmed through genetic studies. We present a case of osteogenesis imperfecta suspected during obstetrical ultrasound at 19 weeks’ gestation, which was later confirmed radiographically through computed tomography. Due to the severity of the condition, therapeutic termination of pregnancy was indicated.

Hydrothermal carbonization of agricultural residues:A case study of the farm residues-based biogas plants

Hydrothermal carbonization(HTC)of biomass is a promising method to produce carbonaceous *** work presented in this article addresses the application of hydrothermal carbonization(HTC)to produce a solid fuel named HTC-Biochar,whose characteristics are comparable to lignite *** sludge(SD),maize silage(MS),and barley silage(BS)as a substrates were hydrothermally carbonized in a 1.5 L batch reactor at 200C for 6 *** effect of mixing ratios of different substrates on HTC was *** compositions and combustion characteristics of hydro-chars obtained from mono-and co-carbonization were *** showed that HTC increased carbon contents and higher heating values(HHV)by 1.4–14.4%and 13–36%,*** evolution of the H/C and O/C atomic ratios indicated that dehydration and decarboxylation occurred during hydrothermal carbonization for all ***,a significant synergistic enhancement was observed for HHV and carbon content.A mixing ratio of 1:1 for BS and SD showed the best performance for *** summary,hydrothermal co-carbonization is a promising strategy to tailor high-performance hydro-char for energy applications.

Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the third most diagnosed malignancy and a major leading cause of cancer-related deaths *** advances in therapeutic regimens,the number of patients presenting with metastatic CRC(mCRC)is increasing due to resistance to therapy,conferred by a small population of cancer cells,known as cancer stem *** therapies have been highly successful in prolonging the overall survival of patients with *** are being developed to target key molecules involved in drug-resistance and metastasis of CRC,and these include vascular endothelial growth factor,epidermal growth factor receptor,human epidermal growth factor receptor-2,mitogen-activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase,in addition to immune ***,there are several ongoing clinical trials of newly developed targeted agents,which have shown considerable clinical efficacy and have improved the prognosis of patients who do not benefit from conventional *** this review,we highlight recent developments in the use of existing and novel targeted agents against drug-resistant CRC and ***,we discuss limitations and challenges associated with targeted therapy and strategies to combat intrinsic and acquired resistance to these therapies,in addition to the importance of implementing better preclinical models and the application of personalized therapy based on predictive biomarkers for treatment selection.

Refined rigorous perturbation bounds for the SR decomposition

In this article, some new rigorous perturbation bounds for the SR decomposition under normwise or componentwise perturbations for a given matrix are derived. also, the explicit expressions for the mixed and componentwise condition numbers are presented by utilizing the block matrix-vector equation approach. Hypothetical and trial results demonstrate that these new bounds are constantly more tightly than the comparing ones in the literature.

Write down： I am an Arab! This powerful proclamation is an extract from a poem composed by the eminent and late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. His instructive and proud words were the initial spark that challenged to respond to the question of the suppressed identity of Palestinian Arabs in Israel. This study will attempt to explore the cultural representation of identity for generations of Palestinian young men and women who were born and lived in Israel but remain culturally repressed and silenced by the hegemonic forces. Identity has been a controversial issue in the mind of every Palestinian ever since the 1948 ＂al-Nakbah＂.2 This study will attempt to comprehend and analyze the multiple ways in which different generations of 1948 Palestinians identified themselves within their societies. While studying the Arabs of Israel3 one notices that their cultural and intellectual productions （poetry and literature） reflect aspects of the conflicts they endured. Confusion and contradictory feelings permeate their psyches as they attended Israeli schools and spoke Hebrew as their official language. This paper will explore the literary heritage of two generations of 1948 Palestinians： the writings of Palestinians of 1948 who were born before al-Nakbah （living within the borders of Israel today）. Those include poems, plays and novels. It will also explore the writings of the younger generation of 1948 Palestinians （born and raised after the al-Nakbah and considered to be the new generation of Israeli Arabs）. A critical analysis will identify how these two generations of Palestinian writers dealt with the contradictions of living inside Israeli society that did not acknowledge them as the indigenous inhabitants of the land. Their translation of their sense of belonging within their literary works will be evident and how they dealt with the conflict of being simultaneously Israeli Arab as well as Palestinian.
