Biphasic Calcium.Phosphate (BCP) is bioactive and bioresorbable which can be controlled by m.nipulating the hA to β-TCP ratio. however, the biom.dical uses of BCP are lim.ted to non-load bearing applications. ZrO2 can be used to produce a biocom.osite Zirconia (Zr) and calcium.phosphate biom.terial for better strength, x-ray contrast and opacity. To determ.ne the characterization of BCP-Zr m.terial, we carried out a chem.cal and structural analysis of Zr-doped BCP by m.ans of Transm.ssion and Scanning Electron m.croscopy and Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis. BCP with Zr was prepared using organic diethyl hexyl phosphoric acid (DEhPA) as the source for phosphate. Sixty gram.calcium.hydroxide [Ca (Oh)2] was diluted in 300 m. distilled water and activated using a m.gnetic stirrer at 70 °C for 2 h and was subsequently cooled to room.tem.erature. Next, 5 g of zirconyl chloride octahydrate was diluted in 150 m. 4 m.hCl, stirred and heated to 70 ?C until zirconyl chloride octahydrate was fully dissolved. The solution was then m.xed with 300 m. DEhPA, stirred for 20 m.nutes and separated by using a separating funnel glassware. Two layers were form.d; the bottom.layer (supernatant) was discarded while the upper layer, the organophosphate solution, was then added slowly (drop by drop) using a separating funnel to the Ca (Oh)2 solution, while being stirred continuously for 2 h. This m.xture was left overnight, thus allowing for the form.tion of a BCP-Zr precipitate. The precipitate was then filtered and the BCP-Zr precipitate was collected and stored in a glass beaker covered with alum.num.foil for drying in an oven at 72 °C for 24 h. The BCP-Zr precipitate was then placed in a clay crucible for the calcination process. This was carried out in a furnace at 1,000 °C for 3 h resulting in BCP doped Zirconia powder. The result showed that som. crystalline structural changes occurred with the addition of Zr which resulted in form.tion of BCP. Zr appeared in m.noclinic, tetragonal and cubic polym.rphs. Effect of partition coefficient on m.crosegregation during solidification of alum.nium.alloys

In the m.deling of m.crosegregation, the partition coefficient is usually calculated using data from.the equilibrium.phase diagram.. The aim.of this study was to experim.ntally and theoretically analyze the partition coefficient in binary alum.num.-copper alloys. The sam- ples were analyzed by differential therm.l analysis （DTA）, which were m.lted and quenched from.different tem.eratures during solidifica- tion. The m.ss fraction and com.osition of phases were m.asured by im.ge processing and scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm. equipped with an energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDS） unit. These data were used to calculate as the experim.ntal partition coefficients with four different m.thods. The experim.ntal and equilibrium.partition coefficients were used to m.del the concentration profile in the prim.ry phase. The m.deling results show that the profiles calculated by the experim.ntal partition coefficients are m.re consistent with the experi- m.ntal profiles, com.ared to those calculated using the equilibrium.partition coefficients.

Background:Acetam.nophen(APAP)overdose can cause liver injury and liver failure,which is one of the m.st com.on causes of drug-induced liver injury in the United States.Pharm.cological activation of autophagy by inhibiting m.chanistic target of rapam.cin(m.OR)protects against APAP-induced liver injury likely via autophagic rem.val of APAP-adducts and dam.ged m.tochondria.In the present study,we aim.d to investigate the role of genetic ablation of m.OR pathways in m.use liver in APAP-induced liver injury and liver repair/regeneration.m.thods:Album.n-Cre(Alb-Cre)m.ce,m.OR^(f/f) and Raptor^(f/f) m.ce(C57BL/6J background)were crossbred to produce liver-specific m.OR knockout(L-m.OR KO,Alb Cret/-,m.OR^(f/f))and liver-specific Raptor KO(L-Raptor,Alb Cret/-,Raptor^(f/f))m.ce.Alb-Cre litterm.tes were used as wild-type(WT)m.ce.These m.ce were treated with APAP for various tim. points for up to 48 h.Liver injury,cell proliferation,autophagy and m.OR activation were determ.ned.Results:We found that genetic deletion of neither Raptor,an im.ortant adaptor protein in m.OR com.lex 1,nor m.OR,in the m.use liver significantly protected against APAP-induced liver injury despite increased hepatic autophagic flux.Genetic deletion of Raptor or m.OR in m.use livers did not affect APAP m.tabolism.and APAP-induced c-Jun N-term.nal kinase(JNK)activation,but slightly im.roved m.use survival likely due to increased hepatocyte proliferation.Conclusions:Our results indicate that genetic ablation of m.OR in m.use livers does not protect against APAP-induced liver injury but m.y slightly im.rove liver regeneration and m.use survival after APAP overdose.

BACKGROUND Studies have dem.nstrated a potential role for fecal biom.rkers such as fecal calprotectin(FC)and fecal lactoferrin(FL)in m.nitoring inflam.atory bowel diseases(IBD)-Crohn's disease(CD)and ulcerative colitis(UC).however,their correlation to endoscopic scores,disease severity and affected intestinal surface has not been extensively investigated.AIm.To correlate FL,and for com.arison white blood cell(WBC)and C-reactive protein(CRP),with endoscopic scores,disease extent and location in CD and UC.m.ThODS Retrospective analysis in 188 patients who had FL,CRP and WBC determ.ned within 30 d of endoscopy.Disease location,disease extent(num.er of intestinal segm.nts involved),disease severity(determ.ned by endoscopic scores),tim.ng of FL testing in relation to colonoscopy,as well as the use of effective fast acting m.dications(steroids and biologics)between colonoscopy and FL m.asurem.nt,were recorded.RESULTS In 131 CD and 57 UC patients,both CRP and FL-but not WBC-distinguished disease severity(inactive,m.ld,m.derate,severe).In patients receiving fastacting(steroids or biologics)treatm.nt in between FL and colonoscopy,FL showed a higher correlation to endoscopic scores when tested before vs after the procedure(r=0.596,Phe Sim.le Endoscopic Score for CD;and r=0.402,P=0.01 vs r=0.054 P=0.84 for Disease Activity Index).Finally,FL was significantly correlated with the diseased m.cosal surface(colon-ileocolon>sm.ll bowel)and the num.er of inflam.d colon segm.nts.CONCLUSION FL and CRP separated disease severity categories with FL showing lower discrim.nating P-values.FL showed a close correlation with the involved m.cosal surface and with disease extent and was m.re closely correlated to endoscopy when determ.ned before the procedure–this indicating that inflam.atory activity changes associated with therapy m.ght be rapidly reflected by FL levels.FL can accurately and tim.ly characterize intestinal inflam.ation in IBD.

到目前为止,油/水的分离是一个世界性的问题,大量废油和溢油的排放对人类的健康和整个的生存环境造成了很大的危害。因此,我们必须要制备出拥有相应功能的材料,以防出现处理此类问题的需要。虽然目前有许多材料可用于补救石油泄漏的情况,但这些材料往往效率低下,并且从某种意义上来说,这些材料也不环保。近年来,超疏水材料因其可应用方向众多而备受关注。而我们这项研究的目的就是制造用于油/水分离的超/疏水材料。首先,我们采用简单而低成本的工艺,制备与Si O溶胶结合的羟基化BN,然后通过浸涂的方法,在聚氨酯(PU)泡沫上嵌入BN/Si O(BN/Si O@PU)。BN/Si O@PU由于其自身的疏水性,它会漂浮在水面上,所以我们选择使用各种有机溶剂或油进行吸收测试以测试其性能。与BN/Si O气凝胶、BN@PU和Si O@PU相比,BN/Si O@PU对有机溶剂和油具有较高的吸收率和高吸收能力,可吸收多达40倍自身的重量。它还能够选择性地从油水混合物中吸收油或有机溶剂,分离效率高于95%,具有良好的可回收性与20个吸收周期,甚至可以用于商业废油的分离处理。其次,通过在亚麻织物上浸涂六甲基二硅氮烷(PDm.)、ZIF-90和氟硅烷(FAS)来制备改性织物。PDm.是自然界中一种已知的疏水性有机硅,我们将它涂在织物上,它作为潜在的疏水剂,可在表面遭到破坏时迁移到表面,以恢复疏水性。然后我们将经水热合成制备的ZIF-90涂在麻织物上,以提供纳米级粗糙度,再用FAS进行改性,以提高疏水性。得到的改性麻织物具有超强的疏水性,水接触角(WCA)为151°。同时,它还表现出了对几种油/水乳液的良好分离能力,达到了99.5%的最大分离效率和1213 L m.h的通量。改性麻织物具有出色的可回收性,可回收10个周期,在机械耐久性和化学稳定性测试方面也表现出良好的稳定性,可在室温下通过热处理自行修复。在第三项工作中,我们用蛋黄壳Si O-Ti O纳米粒子和六甲基二硅氮烷(hm.S)涂层修饰聚丙烯无纺布涂层,制成了超疏水织物。改性织物的水接触角(WCA)为154°。它还显示了对多个油/水乳液的良好分离能力,最大分离效率达到99.5%,通量为3558 L m.。改性织物具有出色的可回收性,可回收10个周期,分离效率超过98%,通量超过3500 L m.。改性织物具有良好的机械耐久性,200次磨损周期后仍然是超疏水表面。它还对hSO、Na Oh、盐溶液和Dm.表现出良好的化学稳定性。它也可以在室温下和高温下自我修复。这些数据证明改性超疏水材料具有良好的机械和化学稳定性,自我修复能力和油/水乳液的高效分离效率。

The rare earth elem.nts(REE)are critical raw m.terials for m.ch of m.dern technology,particularly renewable energy infrastructure and electric vehicles that are vital for the energy transition.m.ny of the world's largest REE deposits occur in alkaline rocks and carbonatites,which are found in intracontinental,rift-related settings,and also in syn-to post-collisional settings.Post-collisional settings host significant REE deposits,such as those of the m.anning-Dechang belt in China.This paper reviews REE m.neralization in syn-to post-collisional alkaline-carbonatite com.lexes worldwide,in order to dem.nstrate som. of the key physical and chem.cal features of these deposits.We use three exam.les,in Scotland,Nam.bia,and Turkey,to illustrate the structure of these system..We review published geochem.cal data and use these to build up a broad m.del for the REE m.neral system.in post-collisional alkaline-carbonatite com.lexes.It is evident that im.iscibility of carbonate-rich m.gm.s and fluids plays an im.ortant part in generating m.neralization in these settings,with REE,Ba and F partitioning into the carbonate-rich phase.The m.st significant REE m.neralization in post-collisional alkaline-carbonatite com.lexes occurs in shallow-level,carbotherm.l or carbonatite intrusions,but deeper carbonatite bodies and associated alteration zones m.y also have REE enrichm.nt.

The developm.nt of fluorophores em.tting in the near-infrared spectral window has gained increased attention given their suitable features for biological im.ging.In this work,we have optim.sed a general and straightforward synthetic approach to prepare a sm.ll library of near-infrared-em.tting C-bridged nitrobenzodiazoles using com.ercial precursors.C-bridged benzodiazoles have low m.lecular weight and neutral character as im.ortant features that are not com.on in m.st nearinfrared dyes.We have investigated their fluorescence response in the presence of a wide array of 60 different biom.lecules and identified com.ound 3i as a potential chem.sensor to discrim.nate between Fe2+and Fe^(3+)ions in aqueous m.dia.

helicobacter species and com.on gut bacterial DNA in gallbladder with cholecystitis

AIm.To analyze the association between helicobacter spp. and som. com.on gut bacteria in patients with cholecystitis. m.ThODS:A nested-polym.rase chain reaction (PCR), specif ic to 16S rRNA of helicobacter spp. was perform.d on paraff in-em.edded gallbladder samples of 100 cholecystitis and 102 control cases. The samples were also analyzed for som. com.on gut bacteria by PCR. Positive samples were sequenced for species identif ication. RESULTS: helicobacter DNA was found in seven out of 100 cases of acute and chronic cholecystitis. Sequence analysis displayed helicobacter pullorum.(h. pullorum. in six cases and helicobacter pylori in one; h. pullorum.was only found in cases with m.taplasia. Control sam-ples were negative for helicobacter spp. and som. com.on gut bacteria. There was a signif icant difference (P=0.007) between cholecystitis and control samples for helicobacter DNA.CONCLUSION:A possible relationship was detected between helicobacter DNA and cholecystitis. Further serological and im.unohistochem.cal studies are needed to support these data.

Freestanding carbon nanofibers loaded with bim.tallic hollow nanocage structures were synthesized.The nanocages inherited the rhom.ic dodecahedral m.rphology of the zeolitic im.dazolate fram.work(ZIF)precursors,ZIF-8 and ZIF-67.As anode m.terials for lithium.ion batteries(LIBs),the bim.tallic nanocage-loaded freestanding carbon nanofibers effectively buffered volum. expansions and alleviated pulverization through their different reduction and oxidation potentials.The higher capacities of the com.osite anodes arose via the form.tion of the Li_(x)Zn alloy and Li_(2)O by Zn and Co ions,respectively,and the enhanced conductivity conferred by the carbon nanofibers.A synergistic effect of the com.osite com.onents toward the strong electrochem.cal perform.nce(688 m.A h·g^(-1)at 1200 m.A·g^(-1))of the bim.tallic nanocage-loaded fibers was dem.nstrated through the superior long-term.stability of the anode(1048 m.A h·g^(-1)after 300 cycles at 100 m.A·g^(-1)),suggesting that the fabricated anode can be a prom.sing m.terial for use in portable LIBs.
