In the last decade,the functionally graded carbon nanotube reinforced composites(FG-CNTRCs)have attracted considerable interest due to their excellent mechanical properties,and the structures made of FG-CNTRCs have found broad potential applications in aerospace,civil and ocean engineering,automotive industry,and smart *** we review the literature regarding the mechanical analysis of bulk CNTR nanocomposites and FG-CNTRC structures,aiming to provide a clear picture of the mechanical modeling and properties of FG-CNTRCs as well as their composite *** review is organized as follows:(1)a brief introduction to the functionally graded materials(FGM),CNTRCs and FG-CNTRCs;(2)a literature review of the mechanical modeling methodologies and properties of bulk CNTRCs;(3)a detailed discussion on the mechanical behaviors of FG-CNTRCs;and(4)conclusions together with a suggestion of future research trends.

Silica nanotubes(SNT) have been synthesized using carbon nanotubes(CNT) as a ***-coated carbon nanotubes(SNT-CNT) and SNT were loaded with a cobalt catalyst for use in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis(FTS).The catalysts were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation and characterized by N2 physisorption,X-ray diffraction(XRD),hydrogen temperature programmed reduction(H2-TPR) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).FTS performance was evaluated in a fixed-bed reactor at 493 K and 1.0 ***/CNT and Co/SNT catalysts showed higher activity than Co/SNT-CNT in FTS because of the smaller cobalt particle size,higher dispersion and stronger *** results also showed that structure of the support affects the product selectivity in *** synergistic effects of cobalt particle size,catalytic activity and diffusion limitations as a consequence of its small average pore size lead to medium selectivity to C5+ hydrocarbons and CH4 over Co/*** the other hand,the Co/CNT showed higher CH4 selectivity and lower C5+ selectivity than Co/SNT,due to its smaller average pore size and cobalt particle size.

The capabilities of chitosan and chitosan-EGDE （ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether） beads for removing Acid Red 37 （AR 37） and Acid Blue 25 （AB 25） from aqueous solution were examined. Chitosan beads were cross-linked with EGDE to enhance its chemical resistance and mechanical strength. Experiments were performed as a function ofpH, agitation period and concentration of AR 37 and AB 25. It was shown that the adsorption capacities of chitosan for both acid dyes were comparatively higher than those of chitosan- EGDE. This is mainly because cross-linking using EGDE reduces the major adsorption sites -NH3＋ on chitosan. Langmuir isotherm model showed the best conformity compared to Freundlich and BET. The kinetic experimental data agreed very well to the pseudo second-order kinetic model. The desorption study revealed that after three cycles of adsorption and desorption by NaOH and HCl, both adsorbents retained their promising adsorption abilities. FT-IR analysis proved that the adsorption of acid dyes onto chitosan-based adsorbents was a physical adsorption. Results also showed that chitosan and chitosan-EGDE beads were favourable adsorbers and could be employed as low-cost alternatives for the removal of acid dyes in wastewater treatment.

Durable dropwise condensation of saturated vapor is of significance for heat transfer and energy saving in extensive industrial *** numerous superhydrophobic surfaces can promote steam condensation,maintaining discrete microdroplets on surfaces without the formation of a flooded filmwise condensation at high subcooling remains ***,we report the development of carbon nanotube array-embedded hierarchical composite surfaces that enable ultra-durable dropwise condensation under a wide range of subcooling(ΔT_(sub)=8 K–38 K),which outperforms existing nanowire *** performance stems from the combined strategies of the hydrophobic nanostructures that allow efficient surface renewal and the patterned hydrophilic micro frames that protect the nanostructures and also accelerate droplet *** synergistic effects of the composite design ensure sustained Cassie wetting mode and capillarity-governed droplet mobility(Bond numberell as the large specific volume of condensed droplets,which contributes to the enhanced condensation heat *** design provides a feasible alternative for efficiently transferring heat in a vapor environment with relatively high temperatures through the tunable multiscale morphology.

This paper studies the impact of structure of cobalt catalysts supported on carbon nanotubes(CNT) on the activity and product selectivity of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis(FTS) *** types of CNT with average pore sizes of 5,11,and 17 nm were used as the *** catalysts were prepared by selectively impregnating cobalt nanoparticles either inside or outside *** TPR results indicated that the catalyst with Co particles inside CNT was easier to be reduced than those outside CNT,and the reducibility of cobalt oxide particles inside the CNT decreased with the cobalt oxide particle size *** activity of the catalyst with Co inside CNT was higher than that of catalysts with Co particles outside *** CNT pore size also appears to enhance the catalyst reduction and FTS activity due to the little interaction between cobalt oxide with carbon and the enhanced electron shift on the non-planar carbon tube surface.

The World Health Organisation （WHO） launched a global action plan on physical activity to provide a frame- work of policy actions to increase physical activity in June 2018. Physical activity is an effective intervention for pre- vention and management of non-communicable diseases including cardiac disease, regardless of age. We hoped this letter would remind readers of the importance of physical activity in older people, particularly those with cardiac co-morbidities.

Both Cu60Ni38Co2 and Cu60Ni40 alloy were naturally cooled after rapid solidification from the liquid *** transformation law of the microstructure characteristics of the rapidly solidified alloy with the change of undercooling(DT)was systematically *** was found that the two alloys experienced the same transformation *** refinement structures under different undercoolings were characterized by electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD).The experimental results show that the characteristics of the refinement structure of the two alloys with low undercooling are the same,whereas,the characteristics of the refinement structure with high undercooling are *** transmission electron microscope(TEM)results of Cu60Ni38Co2 alloy show that the dislocation network density of low undercooled microstructure is lower than that of high undercooled *** combining EBSD and TEM,it can be confirmed that the dendrite remelting fracture is the reason for the refinement of the low undercooled structure,while the high undercooled structure is refined due to recrystallization.
