We report on an experiment performed at the FLASH2 free-electron laser(FEL)aimed at producing warm dense matter via soft x-ray isochoric *** the experiment,we focus on study of the ions emitted during the soft x-ray ablation process using time-of-flight electron multipliers and a shifted maxwell–Boltzmann velocity distribution *** find that most emitted ions are thermal,but that some impurities chemisorbed on the target surface,such as protons,are accelerated by the electrostatic field created in the plasma by escaped *** morphology of the complex crater structure indicates the presence of several ion groups with varying *** find that the ion sound velocity is controlled by the ion temperature and show how the ion yield depends on the FEL radiation attenuation length in different materials.

An oral drug delivery system using proteinoid microspheres is discussed with respect to itsunique dependence on pH. It has been found that certain drugs such as insulin and heparin canbe encapsulated in proteinoid spheres at stomach pH's (1--3). These spheres also dissemble atintestinal pH's (6--7) releasing the drug for absorption. Using this technique low molecularweight heparin and human growth hormone have been orally delivered successfully to severalanimal species. Future work has been proposed to study the interaction and binding of thespecific drugs with synthesized oligopeptides.

Recovery and grade prediction of pilot plant flotation column concentrate by a hybrid neural genetic algorithm

Today flotation column has become an acceptable means of froth flotation for a fairly broad range of applications, in particular the cleaning of sulfides. Even after having been used for several years in mineral processing plants, the full potential of the flotation column process is still not fully exploited. There is no prediction of process performance for the complete use of available control capabilities. The on-line estimation of grade usually requires a significant amount of work in maintenance and calibration of on-stream analyzers, in order to maintain good accuracy and high availability. These difficulties and the high cost of investment and maintenance of these devices have encouraged the approach of prediction of metal grade and recovery. In this paper, a new approach has been proposed for metallurgical performance prediction in flotation columns using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Despite of the wide range of applications and flexibility of NNs, there is still no general framework or procedure through which the appropriate network for a specific task can be designed. Design and structural optimization of NNs is still strongly dependent upon the designer's experience. To mitigate this problem, a new method for the auto-design of NNs was used, based on Genetic Algorithm (GA). The new proposed method was evaluated by a case study in pilot plant flotation column at Sarcheshmeh copper plant. The chemical reagents dosage, froth height, air, wash water flow rates, gas holdup, Cu grade in the rougher feed, flotation column feed, column tail and final concentrate streams were used to the simulation by GANN. In this work, multi-layer NNs with Back Propagation (BP) algorithm with 8-17-10-2 and 8- 13-6-2 arrangements have been applied to predict the Cu and mo grades and recoveries, respectively. Flexible Zn-based batteries have attracted increasing research interest as essential components of wearable energy storage ***,the advancement of flexible aqueous Zn-based batteries based on Co-Ni layered double hydroxide （CoNi-LDH） as the cathode material is hampered by their poor cycling stability and the corrosiveness of alkaline ***,CoNi-LDH nanosheets enriched with H vacancies (CoNi-LDH（v）) were constructed on a flexible carbon cloth （CC） substrate via electrochemical deposition and *** Zn-based battery comprising CoNi-LDH（v）@CC as the cathode exhibited highly reversible conversion reactions and stable operation in 3 m ZnSO4electrolyte （pH=4）.The battery delivered an excellent specific capacity (225 mA h g-1,0.26 mA h cm-2),acceptable cycling stability（53.9%,900 cycles）,and high discharging *** abundant H vacancies served as active sites for the reversible intercalation of Zn2+and the extravasation of NO3-generated channels and space for Zn2+transport and storage,together enabling an excellent Zn2+storage ***,a sandwich-structured solid-state CoNi-LDH（v）@CC//Zn@CC battery was fabricated and was found to exhibit a noteworthy electrochemical performance and mechanical *** a proof of concept,the unencapsulated battery powered a digital watch under various deformation conditions and operated stably for 80 ***,the flexible battery displayed outstanding customizability,maintaining an open-circuit voltage of 1.42 V even after being cut *** proposed engineering strategy contributes to the realization of textiles with truly wearable energy-storage devices.

Coastal transgression and regression from 1980 to 2020 and shoreline forecasting for 2030 and 2040,using DSAS along the southern coastal tip of Peninsular India

This study explains the multi-decadal shoreline changes along the coast of Kanyakumari from 1980 *** shorelines are extracted from the Landsat images to estimate the shoreline dynamics and future predictions using Digital Shoreline Analysis System(DSAS).By the estimation of End Point Rate(EPR)and Linear Regression Rate(LRR),it is quantified that the maximum erosion is 5.01 m/yr(EPR)and 6.13 m/yr(LRR)consistently with the maximum accretion of 3.77 m/yr(EPR)and 3.11 m/yr(LRR)along the entire coastal stretch of 77 *** future shoreline predicted using the Kalman filter forecasted that Inayam,Periyakattuthurai and Kodimunai are highly prone to erosion with a shift of 170 m,157 m and 145 m by 2030 and 194 m,182 m and 165 m by 2040 towards the ***,the western coast is highly prone to erosion and it is predicted that certain villages are prone to loss of economy and *** outcome of this study may guide the coastal researchers to understand the evolution and decisionmakers to evolve with alternative sustainable management plans in the future.

Characterization of energy and performance of swine fed a novel corn-soybean extruded product

Background： A novel extruded product was characterized with a metabolism and lactation trial to establish the product＇s energy content, and its effects on lactating sow performance. The product was composed of a 60：40 corn-soybean blend, which was then extruded. This product containing the co-extruded 60：40 corn-soybean blend was commercially developed and is used extensively in swine diets in southwest minnesota. GE of dietary treatments were determined by isoperibol bomb calorimetry. Twelve barrows （59.9 ± 1.4 kg）, were used to determine the digestible and metabolizable energy of the extruded product. DE of treatments was determined by subtracting fecal energy from GE provided to barrows by each respective treatment. mE was determined by subtracting urinary energy from calculated digestible energy. Sixty-three sows were used for the lactation trial. Three dietary treatments were utilized： CONTROL （an industry standard diet）; PRODUCT （contained the product, vitamins and minerals）; OIL （matched the lysine：mE ratio of PRODUCT by addition of soy oil）. Sow weight, backfat thickness at the right and left last ribs, body condition score, number of piglets, and litter weights were recorded on the date of farrowing （d 0）, （d 9）, and at weaning. Blood and milk samples were obtained at weaning, and blood was analyzed for plasma urea nitrogen （PUN）, milk was analyzed for total protein and fat content. Results： On a dry-matter basis, the test diet provided 3,908 kcal/kg DE and 3,833 kcal/kg mE, which was significantly greater than the basal diet, which provided 3,633 kcal/kg DE and 3,567 kcal/kg mE （P 〈 0.0001）. These data were used to establish the DE and mE of the product, which were 3,882 kcal/kg and 3,798 kcal/kg, respectively, on an as-fed basis. Evaluation of mayer curve validity on feed blending at the Zarand coal washery plant

The coal processing methods used at the Zarand coal washery plant are the heavy medium bath,jigs,and *** coal-containing materials that are fed to the plant are acquired from different mines,and they have different washability *** this paper,the validity of mayer curve (m-curve),the conventional method for determining coal washability,was evaluated on blending of raw coals that are fed to the *** curves were prepared for the hand-blended samples and compared with the washability predicted by the mayer *** samples from different seams and mines were blended by hand in 50:50 ratios,and sink and float tests were performed;the resulting washability curves were in good agreement with the washability curves predicted using the mayer method for the same blending *** work resulted in the preparation of the optimum plant feed that can be achieved from the blending of different coal samples to produce the best plant yield at a given ash content.

Control of a Quadruped Robot with Bionic Springy Legs in Trotting Gait

Legged robots have better performance on discontinuous terrain than that of wheeled robots. However, the dynamic trotting and balance control of a quadruped robot is still a challenging problem, especially when the robot has multi-joint legs. This paper presents a three-dimensional model of a quadruped robot which has 6 Degrees of Freedom （DOF） on torso and 5 DOF on each leg. On the basis of the Spring-Loaded Inverted Pendulum （SLIP） model, body control algorithm is discussed in the first place to figure out how legs work in 3D trotting. Then, motivated by the principle of joint function separation and introducing certain biological characteristics, two joint coordination approaches are developed to produce the trot and provide balance. The robot reaches the highest speed of 2.0 m.s-1, and keeps balance under 250 Kg.m.s-1 lateral disturbance in the simulations. The effectiveness of these approaches is also verified on a prototype robot which runs to 0.83 m.s-1 on the treadmill, The simulations and experiments show that legged robots have good biological properties, such as the ground reaction force, and spring-like leg behavior.

Dabigatran etixilate and traumatic brain injury: Evolving anticoagulants require evolving care plans

AIm: To investigate the outcomes of trauma patients with traumatic brain injury(TBI) on Dabigatran Etexilate(DE). mETHODS: Following IRB approval, all patients taking DE who were admitted to our level 1 trauma service were enrolled in the study. Injury complexity, length of stay(LOS), intensive care length of stay, operative intervention, therapeutic interventions and outcomes were analyzed retrospectively. RESULTS: Twenty-eight of 4310 admissions were taking DE. Eleven patients were excluded on concurrent antiplatelet therapy. Average age was 77.14 years(64-94 years), and average LOS was 4.7 d(1-35 d). Thirty-two percent were admitted with intracranial hemorrhage. Eighteen percent received factor Ⅶ, and 22% received dialysis in attempts to correct coagulopathy. mortality was 21%.CONCLUSION: The low incidence, absence of reversal agents, and lack of practice guidelines makes managing patients with TBI taking DE frustrating and provider specific. Local practice guidelines may be helpful in managing such patients.

A new putative transposon was identified in the tobacco budworm, Helio- this virescens. This transposon was characterized as a full length CORE-SINE （65 bp of ＂CORE＂ core specific nucleotide short interspersed elements） that resembled sequences from three other lepidopterans and humans. In particular, the A-box and B-box regions of this sequence most closely conformed to the signature of CORE-SINEs from widely divergent species. This CORE-SINE was present as a polymorphism in a hypervariable region of the gene hscp, which is the target of pyrethroid insecticides and other xenobiotics in the nerve axon. We described this new putative transposon as Noct-1 due to its presence in a noctuid moth. This is the first description of a full-length CORE-SINE with the A-box, B-box, target site duplication, and candidate core domain from an insect.
