In this study, to fabric.te dual-pore sc.ffolds with interc.nnec.ed pores, Non-solvent Induc.d Phase Separation （NIPS） and Wire-Network Molding （WNM） tec.niques were c.mbined. First, a mold with uniform slits was prepared, and needles were inserted into the mold. Subsequently, polyc.prolac.one （Pc.） pellets were dissolved in tetrahydrofuran （THF） at a spec.fied ratio. The slurry was mixed using hot plate stirrer at 1200 rpm for 24 hours at 40 ~c. The Pc. slurry was subsequently injec.ed into the mold. Thereafter, to exc.ange the THF （solvent） with the ethanol （non-solvent）, the mold was soaked in an ethanol bath. After removing the mold from the ethanol bath, the needles were removed from the mold. c.nsequently, dual-pore sc.ffold with interc.nnec.ed pores was obtained. The surfac. morphology of the fabric.ted sc.ffolds were observed using Sc.nning Elec.ron Mic.osc.pe （SEM）. Moreover, c.ll c.lture experiments were performed using the c.K-8 assay, and the c.arac.eristic. of c.lls grown on the dual-pore sc.ffolds were assessed and were c.mpared with the NIPS-based 3D plotting sc.ffold.

SiBc. and BN/SiBc. light-leakage-proof c.atings were prepared on silic. optic.l fibers for sensing applic.tions at high *** elec.ron mic.osc.py was used to c.arac.erize the surfac. morphology and mic.ostruc.ure of the c.ated *** and optic.l properties of the c.ated fiber were c.arac.erized by Raman,optic.l and tensile *** with the original fiber,the tensile strength of Si Bc. and BN/Si Bc. c.ated fiber show an inc.ease of about 60%and 90%at room temperature,*** addition,the tensile strength of BN/Si Bc. c.ated silic. optic.l fiber was inc.eased by about 42%at 700°*** has been found that the improvement of the strength of BN/Si Bc. c.ated silic. optic.l fiber is related to the healing of defec.s and residual c.mpressive stress in *** the light transmittanc. performanc. of the c.ated fiber,it was found that BN/Si Bc. double c.ating c.uld be an ideal total reflec.ion solution to protec. silic. optic.l fiber from light leakage during high temperature sensing operation.

Introduc.ion: In this paper we investigate the possible c.nnec.ion between soc.oec.nomic.status as demarc.ted by employment and in-suranc. status and c.nsumption of healthc.re resourc.s in spine surgery patients. Methods: The c.inic.l rec.rds of 1599 spine surgery pa-tients c.unted from 2008-2009 were reviewed. The largest groups of patients belonged to MS-DRG 460 (N = 585) and to MS-DRG 473 (N = 700). These two MS-DRG patient groups were used as the study c.hort representing patients who, by definition, did not have serious c.mor-bidities or c.mplic.tions. Results: Unemployed non-c.rvic.l patients tended to stay on average 1.8 days longer in hospital and had on average $5800 higher hospital c.arges. No major differ-enc.s were noted in length of stay and hospital c.st between government and private insuranc. patients. However, self-pay non-c.rvic.l fusion patients had notable inc.eases in length of stay and hospital c.st, espec.ally in the >39 and c. in length of stay amounting to 5 days and in hospital c.arges to $10,000. Univariate analysis with DRG (460 or 473) as a c.variate showed signific.nt impac. from employment status on length of stay (F = 4.259, P = 0.014) and less signific.nt impac. from payor c.tegory on hospital c.arges (F = 2.229, P = 0.064) in the ec.nomic.lly-produc.ive 40 -59 age group. c.nc.usions: In general, no inc.ease in hospital resourc. c.nsumption was noted exc.pt among self-pay patients, the same group seemingly least able to afford expensive healthc.re.
