align="justify"> Introduction: The coronavirus disease 2019 epidemic emerged in December 2019 and spread worldwide. Since workplaces are high-risk location for occupational exposure, understanding of the dynamics of COVID-19 clusters in occupational settings helps reduce the transmission of infectious disease in workplaces. This study presents an overview of the epidemiological characteristics of COVID-19 workplace clusters, preventive strategies adopted and outbreak responses undertaken in Muscat governorate. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive study on the epidemiological characteristics of cases and distribution of workplace-related clusters of COVID-19 in Muscat Governorate in Oman. Results: A total of 36,798 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Muscat from 24th February to 31st July 2020 in which 40.5% was belonging to clusters. Out of them 61% were Workplace-Dormitory clusters, predominantly expatriates. 78.6% of employees were symptomatic at time of examination. Fever and cough were the two most common symptoms reported in workplace related clusters. The number of affected employees ranged from 2 to 358 per cluster. Construction, retail, food, beverages, services, industrial manufacturing, oil & gas and transportation were identified as most at risk settings. Within the cases in workplace-related clusters, there was significant higher prevalence of diabetes, hypertension and obesity among females compared to males as also Omani nationals compared to expatriates and smoking among expatriate males compared to Omani males. In conclusion, understanding the epidemiological characteristics of the affected cases in organization setting will assist the policymakers to understand patterns of epidemiological spread and plan for robust interventions. <

This research aims to measure the current gender representation in membership of boards of directors,and to study the factors affecting the presence of women on *** results of the study will support the decision makers and policy makers at all levels by providing knowledge that contributes to bridging the current gap in participation of women *** methodology used in this research is the descriptive analytical approach,which relies on quantitative methods in the process of collecting and analyzing *** study represents the boards of directors in the three sectors(public,private,and non-profit)in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,The study sample contained 350 targets,where a random sample of 150 people in the public sector,100 people in the private sector,and 100 people in the non-profit sector were *** research result found that the majority of the responses believe that the lack of experience and training,and social factors,are the most impact areas of explaining the reasons for the existence of a gap in women’s membership in boards of directors in the three *** the most important reasons for the existence of a gender gap in board membership are:there is no statutory minimum percentage for women’s representation on boards of directors,and scarcity of female competencies in general,and the lack of women occupying leadership positions.

Introduction: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was declared as pandemic by WHO by March 11th. First case reported in Oman was on 24th February 2020 and later the country went through stages of epidemic progression. This study describes the sociodemographic and epidemiological characteristics of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Muscat governorate and related outcomes. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive, exploratory analysis of all lab confirmed COVID 19 cases that were reported from 1st February to 31st May 2020. Data for the study was primarily extracted from notifications system established for surveillance (Tarassud). Secondary data sources were, contact listings and hospital medical records. Results: 11,648 initial cases of confirmed COVID-19 infections were included. The mean age was 35 years, 84.7% (N = 9862) were males, 25.9% (N = 3017) were Omanis, and 74.1% (N = 8631) were expatriates of which Indian origin were the majority (37%). Fever and cough were the most common presentations (46.3% and 29.5% respectively). Diabetes and hypertension were the most common comorbidities (4.9% and 4.6% respectively). Hospital admission was required for 7% (N = 811) of the total reported cases, out of them 171 cases (21%) were admitted to ICU, where 107 (13.2%) were ventilated. The case fatality rate (CFR) was 0.9%. 158 clusters containing 2949 contacts were identified from case records and categorised into 3 groups based on their exposure settings. The incubation period measured was 8 days (IQR 4.0 - 15.0) for workplace, 8 days (IQR 4 - 17) for dormitory and 4 days (IQR 2.0 - 7.0) for family groups. The secondary attack rate (SAR) estimated was 41.6% (95% CI: 0.34 - 0.48), 52% (95% CI: 0.40 - 0.63) and 33% (95% CI: 0.27 - 0.38) for workplace, dormitory and family groups, respectively. This paper presents a smart checkout system designed to mitigate the issues of noise and errors present in the existing barcode and RFID-based systems used at retail stores’checkout *** is achieved by integrating a novel AI algorithm,called Improved Laser Simulator Logic(ILSL)into the RFID *** enhanced RFID system was able to improve the accuracy of item identification,reduce noise interference,and streamline the overall checkout *** potential of the systemfor noise detection and elimination was initially investigated through a simulation study usingMATLAB and ILSL ***,it was deployed in a small-scale environment to validate its real-world *** show that RFID with the proposed new algorithm ILSL and AI basket is capable of accurately detecting the related itemswhile eliminating noise originating fromunrelated objects,achieving an accuracy rate of 88%.

Classification and Diagnosis of Lymphoma’s Histopathological Images Using Transfer Learning

Current cancer diagnosis procedure requires expert knowledge and is time-consuming,which raises the need to build an accurate diagnosis support system for lymphoma identification and *** studies have shown promising results using Machine Learning and,recently,Deep Learning to detect malignancy in cancer ***,the diversity and complexity of the morphological structure of lymphoma make it a challenging classification *** literature,many attempts were made to classify up to four simple types of *** paper presents an approach using a reliable model capable of diagnosing seven different categories of rare and aggressive *** Lymphoma types are Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma,Nodular Lymphoma Predominant,Burkitt Lymphoma,Follicular Lymphoma,Mantle Lymphoma,Large B-Cell Lymphoma,and T-Cell *** proposed approach uses Residual Neural Networks,ResNet50,with a Transfer Learning for lymphoma’s detection and *** model used results are validated according to the performance evaluation metrics:Accuracy,precision,recall,F-score,and kappa score for the seven *** algorithms are tested,and the results are validated on 323 images of 224×224 pixels *** results are promising and show that our used model can classify and predict the correct lymphoma subtype with an accuracy of 91.6%.

Water quality analysis is essential to understand the ecological status of aquatic *** water quality index(WQI)assessment methods are limited to features such as water acidic or basicity(pH),dissolved oxygen(DO),biological oxygen demand(BOD),chemical oxygen demand(COD),ammoniacal nitrogen(NH3-N),and suspended solids(SS).These features are often insufficient to represent the water quality of a heavy metal–polluted ***,this paper aims to explore and analyze novel input features in order to formulate an improved *** this work,prospective insights on the feasibility of alternative water quality input variables as new discriminant features are *** new discriminant features are a step toward formulating adaptive water quality parameters according to the land use activities surrounding the *** results and analysis obtained from this study have proven the possibility of predicting WQI using new input *** work analyzes 17 new input features,namely conductivity(COND),salinity(Sal),turbidity(TUR),dissolved solids(DS),nitrate(NO3),chloride(Cl),phosphate(PO4),arsenic(As),chromium(Cr),zinc(Zn),calcium(Ca),iron(Fe),potassium(K),magnesium(Mg),sodium(Na),***,and total coliform,in predicting WQI using machine learning *** regression algorithms-random forest(RF),AdaBoost,support vector regression(SVR),decision tree regression(DTR),and multilayer perception(MLP)-are applied for preliminary model *** results show that the RF algorithm exhibits better prediction performance,with R2 of ***,this work proposes a modified RF by incorporating the synthetic minority oversampling technique(SMOTE)into the conventional RF *** proposed modified RF method is shown to achieve 77.68%,74%,69%,and 71%accuracy,precision,recall,and F1-score,*** addition,the sensitivity analysis is included to highlight the importance of the turbidity variable in WQI *** results of sensitivity analysis high

This manuscript presents the comprehensive study of thickness stretching effects on the free vibration,static stability and bending of multilayer functionally graded(FG)carbon nanotubes reinforced composite(CNTRC)*** nanoscale and microstructure influences are considered through a modified nonlocal strain gradient continuum *** on power-law functions,four different patterns of CNTs distribution are considered in this analysis,a uniform distribution UD,FG-V CNTRC,FG-X CNTRC,and FG-O CNTRC.A 3D kinematic shear deformation theory is proposed to include the stretching influence,which is neglected in classical ***'s principle is applied to derive the governing equations of motion and associated boundary *** solutions are developed based on Galerkin method to solve the governing equilibrium equations based on the generalized higher-order shear deformation theory and the nonlocal strain gradient theory and get the static bending,buckling loads,and natural frequencies of *** with previous works is presented.A detailed parametric analysis is carried out to highlight the impact of thickness stretching,length scale parameter(nonlocal),material scale parameter(gradient),CNTs distribution pattern,geometry of the plate,various boundary conditions and the total number of layers on the stresses,deformation,critical buckling loads and vibration *** new results are also reported in the current study,which will serve as a benchmark for future research.
