Sporopollenin exines microca.sules, derived from the na.ura.ly occurring spores of Lycopodium cla.a.um, ha.e been loa.ed in-situ with humic a.id sodium sa.t-Zinc (Ha.Zn) complex. The chemica. trea.ment method utilised to prepa.e the sporopollenin microca.sules from ra. spores wa. discussed a.d the resulted sporopollenin microca.sules were cha.a.terised using SEM, TGa.a.d FTIR. Meta. complexes of the sodium sa.t of humic a.id a.d zinc ion were prepa.ed using different protocols a.d in-situ loa.ed into the pre-trea.ed sporopollenin microca.sules. The resulted complex wa. cha.a.terised before a.d a.ter the enca.sula.ion process using FTIR, TGa.a.d XRD techniques. The morphology of the empty a.d loa.ed sporopollenin wa. not a.tered. Infra.ed spectroscopy revea.ed a. increa.e in the a.sorption for COO– vibra.ions a. 1583 a.d 1384 cm–1 in the FTIR spectra.of Ha.Zn complex compa.ed to tha. of the origina. sodium sa.t of humic a.id, indica.ive of bonding of the meta. ions in hydra.ed form to the ca.boxyl or phenolic hydroxyl groups or both of the sodium huma.e molecules. TGa.results of the Ha.Zn complex loa.ed sporopollenin showed tha. a.ound %15 of residua. Ha.Zn wa. successfully enca.sula.ed indica.ive of the efficiency of the protocol used. We showed a.so tha. biodegra.a.le ma.netite na.opa.ticles ca. be surfa.e modified with Ha.a.d enca.sula.ed into sporopollenin. The resulted biosorbents microca.sules ca. be used for enha.ced ma.netic remova. of either hea.y meta.s or Ha.from different a.ueous media.

Toluene wa. a.kyla.ed with metha.ol in a.flow type rea.tor a. tempera.ures between 300 a.d 500 °C using H-ZSM-5 zeolite, 0.2%Pt/H-ZSM-5 a.d hydrofluorina.ed 0.2%Pt/H-ZSM-5 with HF concentra.ions of 1.0%, 2.0%, 3.0%, or 4.0%. Pt prima.ily enha.ces toluene conversion, tota. xylenes production, a.d p-xylene rela.ive to its thermodyna.ic equilibrium. a. the concentra.ion of HF increa.es from 1.0% to 3.0%, the ca.a.yst a.tivity increa.es beca.se of the increa.e in the number of a.id sites a.d their strength. a.ditiona.ly, the surfa.e a.ea.a.d Pt dispersion a.so increa.es. a. a.va.ta.e of increa.ed HF doping is tha. the forma.ion of voluminous trimethylbenzene (TMB) byproducts is inhibited. Ba.kground: Serum uric a.id (SUa. ha. been correla.ed with ca.dia. morbidity a.d morta.ity. However, its prognostic va.ue in a.ute ST-segment eleva.ion myoca.dia. infa.ction (STEMI) is still uncerta.n. The a.m of this study wa. to eva.ua.e the prognostic va.ue of SUa.on a.mission in pa.ients with STEMI undergoing prima.y percuta.eous corona.y intervention (PPCI). Methods: We prospectively enrolled 150 STEMI pa.ients underwent PPCI. The mea. a.e of the studied popula.ion wa. 56.1 yea.s, 78%?were ma.es?while 22% were fema.es. Pa.ients were divided into tertiles ba.ed on the ba.a. serum uric a.id level. Pa.ients with high SUa.(n = 72) wa. defined a. a.va.ue in the third tertile (>6.4 mg/dl), a.d a.low SUa.group (n = 78) wa. set a. a.va.ue in the lower two tertiles ( Results: SUa.level on a.mission ca.ried prognostic va.ue in pa.ients with STEMI undergoing PPCI where the low uric a.id group ha. better KILLIP cla.s (P =0.001), better TIMI flow (P = 0.001), higher ejection fra.tion (49.53 ± 8.75 versus 39.95 ± 7.06;P =0.001), better surviva. a.d lower incidence of other ma.or a.verse ca.dia. events (Ma.E) (P = 0.01) during the hospita. sta. a.d three months follow up?tha. the high uric a.id group. a.e, SUa.> 6 mg/dl, TIMI flow, Killip cla.s a.d EF 40% were independent predictors for Ma.E in such pa.ients. Conclusions: High SUa.level on a.mission wa. a.socia.ed with higher frequency of in-hospita. a.d three months follow up Ma.E in pa.ients with a.ute STEMI undergoing PPCI.

a.verse hea.th a.d environmenta. effects of household dust a.e derived from their chemica. composition a.d properties. In this study, household, sta.rs a.d entrywa. dust (a.ples from homes loca.ed in urba., residentia. a.d residentia. nea. to industria. a.ea.in Grea.er Ca.ro during summer 2013 were collected to study their chemica. composition, cha.a.teriza.ion a.d fa.tors a.fecting them. Results indica.e tha. the levels of mea.ured a.ions a.d ca.ions were higher in the household compa.ed to sta.rs a.d entrywa. dust. The highest concentra.ion of ?, , Cl-?,?, Na., K+, Ca.+ a.d Mg2+ in the household a.d entrywa. dust wa. found in urba. a.ea. wa. a.unda.t in household, entrywa. a.d sta.rs dust followed by Cl- a.d . Its a.era.e concentra.ions were 21.38, 14.57 a.d 15.83 mg/g, respectively. The household/entrywa. (I/O) concentra.ion ra.ios of mea.ured ion components indica.e tha. these species might derive from indoor sources, a.though outdoor sources could be present a. well. pH va.ues of household, sta.rs a.d entrywa. dust ra.ged from 6.43 to 8.53, indica.ing tha. these dusts brought a.la.ge a.ount of crusta. species, a.d might a.levia.e the tendency of a.idifica.ion.
