In this work,the steam reforming of acetic acid was catalyzed by Ni-based catalysts supported on ceria-zirconia of different morphological structures(nanopolyhedra,nanorods,and nanocubes).The altered shapes led to the variation in catalyst properties,such as the exposed planes,ease of Ni reduction/oxidation,and carbon removal,which affected its catalytic ***,it was found that the exposed planes present in cubic{100}and rod structures({100}and{110})enhanced the formation of Ni^(0) and subsequently promoted the reforming ***,oxygen vacancies and mobility properties of{100}and{110}exposed planes can promote the oxidation reaction of carbon,resulting in a stable catalyst for the reforming of acetic *** results also showed that the type of depositing carbons was influenced by the support *** the catalysts showed a100% acetic acid conversion with the 15Ni/NC-Ce Zr(cubic structure)catalyst exhibited the highest hydrogen yield.

Closing the carbon loop,through CO_(2)capture and utilization,is a promising route to mitigate climate *** energy is a sustainable energy source which can be exploited to drive catalytic reactions for utilizing CO_(2),including converting the CO_(2)into useful *** energy can be harnessed through a range of different pathways to valorize CO_(2).Whilst using solar energy to drive CO_(2)reduction has vast potential to promote catalytic CO_(2)conversions,the progress is limited due to the lack of understanding of property-performance relations as well as feasible material engineering ***,we outline the various driving forces involved in photothermal CO_(2)*** heat from solar energy can be utilized to induce CO_(2)catalytic reduction reactions via the photothermal ***,solar energy can act to modify reaction pathways through light-matter ***-induced chemical functions have demonstrated the ability to regulate intermediary reaction steps,and thus control the reaction *** catalyst structures and specific catalyst design strategies are discussed in this *** review provides a comprehensive understanding of the heat-light synergy and guidance for rational photothermal catalyst design for CO_(2)utilization.

Nickel was supported on varied ratios of ceria-titania mixed oxides（Ni/CexTiyO2） to evaluate the role the support plays in photothermal carbon dioxide hydrogenation to produce methane. In a batch photothermal reactor system, Ni/CeO2achieved the highest conversion rate, reaching a conversion of 93% in approximately60–90 min. To decouple the influence of light and heat, the CO2hydrogenation was examined in an in-house designed photothermal reactor, whereby heat can be applied externally. Decoupling experiments revealed that heat from the thermalisation by light was the main driving force for the reaction. In addition, the conversion and temperature profile of the different catalysts revealed that the catalyst performance was governed by catalyst reducibility. H2-TPR analyses showed that the Ni became more readily reducible with increasing Ce O2content,suggesting that the oxide plays a role in activating the Ni. The reduction temperature of the nickel catalyst（following a reduction and passivation process） was below 200 °C, which meant that the inherent heating temperature of the photothermal reactor was sufficient to initiate Ni/CexTiyO2catalyst activity. The exothermic methanation reaction was then able to heat the system further, ultimately reaching a temperature of 285 °C. The ancillary rise in temperature promotes further nickel reduction and methane formation, leading to a "snow-ball"effect. The findings demonstrate that, to achieve a "snow-ball" effect in a photothermal system, designing a catalyst which is easy to reduce, active for CO2hydrogenation, and capable of converting light to heat for its initial activation is critical.

With the advancement of technology, companies are increasingly dependent on technology teams to stay competitive. However, members of these teams often work in stressful and unhealthy environments, which can undermine their productivity and well-being. The humanization of the culture of technology teams is an approach that aims to create healthier and more productive work environments for team members, promoting balance between personal and professional life. Despite the importance of a healthy and productive work environment, many companies do not invest in strategies to humanize the culture of their technology teams. This can lead to high levels of stress, staff turnover and low productivity. The objective of this project is to identify effective strategies to humanize the culture of technology teams and create healthier and more productive work environments in digital companies. For this, factors such as management styles, psychological safety, human-centered development, individual beliefs and time and energy management will be analyzed. The project’s methodology will include a literature review on the subject and qualitative data analysis will be performed using a content analysis approach. This project will contribute to the advancement of knowledge about the humanization of the culture of technology teams in digital companies. The results can be applied to companies that want to create healthier and more productive work environments for their team members.

Managing the Mass Effect: A Rare Case of Giant Ethmoid Sinus Osteoma with Orbital Extension—A Case Report

Background: Sinonasalosteomas are rare benign tumors that can cause clinical symptoms depending on their size and location. Osteomas are classified as giant osteomas when their size gets larger than three centimeters. In giant osteomas, severe symptoms and complications can occur if they expand into adjacent structures. Aim: In this case report, we highlight the diagnostic importance of CT scans of paranasal sinuses in diagnosing osteomas and the superiority of endoscopic surgery over an open approach in removing these benign tumors. Case Presentation: We report a rare case of giant ethmoidosteoma with extension to intraorbital facilities in 19 years old female which was causing a mass effect on the orbital space and discuss the appropriate management. Conclusion: Ethmoid sinus osteoma is asymptomatic until it increases in size producing a pressure effect on the eyes and sinusitis. CT imaging is the gold standard diagnostic modality. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice for ethmoid sinus osteoma. Due to the size of the lesion, endoscopic surgical excision is a less commonly employed modality, but it has advantages like earlier recovery and cosmetic benefits due to which it was the treatment employed in this case.

Background:Modeling exchange rate volatility has remained crucially important because of its diverse *** study aimed to address the issue of error distribution assumption in modeling and forecasting exchange rate volatility between the Bangladeshi taka(BDT)and the US dollar($).Methods:Using daily exchange rates for 7 years(January 1,2008,to April 30,2015),this study attempted to model dynamics following generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic(GARCH),asymmetric power ARCH(APARCH),exponential generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedstic(EGARCH),threshold generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedstic(TGARCH),and integrated generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedstic(IGARCH)processes under both normal and Student’s t-distribution assumptions for *** and Conclusions:It was found that,in contrast with the normal distribution,the application of Student’s t-distribution for errors helped the models satisfy the diagnostic tests and show improved forecasting *** such error distribution for out-of-sample volatility forecasting,AR(2)–GARCH(1,1)is considered the best.

Marked Improvement in Glycemic Control with Exenatide on Addition to Metformin, Sulfonylurea and Insulin Glargine in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, a Real World Experience

Background: The major effect of Exenatide is attributed to lowering of post-prandial glycemia, whereas insulin glargine mainly improves fasting glycemia [FPG]. Objective: Therefore, we assessed effect of Exenatide administration at 6 months and for at 1 year on glycemic control, lipids, body weight [BW], daily insulin dose and hypoglycemic events. Methods: Records of 164 subjects, 126 men and 38 women administered Exenatide between January 2011 and December 2013 are included in this report. Exenatide was initiated at 5 mcg subcutaneously twice daily [BID] in obese subjects, BMI > 30 kg/m2, with C-peptide > 1 ng/d, and HbA1c 7.5% - 9.5%, while receiving daily metformin 2000 mg, Sulfonylurea Glimepiride 8 mg and insulin Glargine [GLAR]. Exclusion criteria were creatinine > 1.5 mg/dL and liver enzymes > 2.5 times upper limit of normal. Indices of glycemic control include fasting plasma glucose levels and HbA1c. Lipids include serum concentrations of total, LDL and HDL cholesterol. Other endpoints are body weight, daily insulin dose and number of hypoglycemic events per patient during 4 weeks prior to initiation of Exenatide, at 6 months and 1 year of therapy. Results: In 37 subjects, Exenatide was discontinued within 1 - 3 weeks;29 due to onset of nausea and vomiting. Seven of these also complained of abdominal pain and in these, serum amylase and lipase were elevated indicating presence of acute pancreatitis. One subject discontinued because of chest pain. Fasting plasma Glucose remained unchanged following Exenatide administration. However, HbA1c declined significantly denoting improvement in overall glycemic control without significant changes in body weight, daily insulin dose and hypoglycemic events. Lipid panel improved as well. Conclusion: Exenatide may be an appropriate adjuvant option in obese subjects with Type 2 diabetes mellitus with lack of desirable glycemic control while receiving therapy with Metformin, Glimepiride, and insulin Glargine. Intrduction: Edema, Hypertension and Hypokalemia occur with inhibition of 11 B-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase Type 2 (11B-HSD2) by chronic Licorice ingestion. However, a similar presentation following a chronic use of another commonly used sweetener “Stevia” is not reported. Objective: To document a first case report of a subject presenting with Edema, Prehypertension and Hypokalemia induced by 11B-HSD2 inhibition induced by chronic ingestion of sweetener stevia. Case Report: 32 year old Caucasian woman presented with generalized edema (feet, hands and face) of over 6 months. She was noted to also manifest Prehypertension (138/88 mmHg) and Hypokalemia (3.4 mM/l). Laboratory tests revealed decline in serum aldosterone and plasma renin activity, an increase in plasma cortisol/cortisone ratio. On persistent interrogation, patient admitted to daily consumption of sweetener stevia for over 9 months. All the presenting manifestations resolved with normalization of the laboratory tests on withdrawal of stevia. Conclusion: This case report indicates that chronic ingestion of sweetener stevia may induce edema, hypertension and hypokalemia via reduced conversion of cortisol into cortisone by inhibition of 11 B-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase Type 2.
