Platform Evolution in an Oligo-Miocene Back-arc Basin:An Example from the Central Iran Basin

The Qom Formation is the most important hydrocarbon reservoir target in Central Iran.The Qom platform developed in a back-arc basin during the Oligo-Miocene due to the closing of the Tethyan Seaway.This formation consists of a variety of carbonate and non-carbonate facies deposited on a platform ranging from supratidal to basin.A combination of tectonic and eustatic events led to some lateral and vertical facies variations in the study area.Six third-order depositional sequences and related surfaces were identified regarding vertical facies changes in the studied sections of this Oligo-Miocene succession.According to all results and data,this succession was initially deposited during the Chattian upon a distally steepened ramp of siliciclastic-carbonate composition,including the Bouma sequence.Then,from the late Chattian to the Aquitanian,the platform changed into a homoclinal carbonate ramp with a gentle profile.With respect to tectonic activity,this phase was a calm period during the deposition of the Qom Formation.Finally,a drowned carbonate platform and a rimmed shelf emerged during the Burdigalian,terminated by the continental deposits of the Upper Red Formation.Regarding all geological characteristics,three main tectono-eustatic evolutionary phases have been recognized in the Qom back-arcbasin.

Objective:Only a few numbers of studies have been published on the use of abobotulinumtoxinA(Dysport®)in idiopathic detrusor overactivity(IDO).This study reported the long-term follow-up of women with IDO who were treated with intravesical Dysport®injections.Methods:Two hundred and thirty-six patients with IDO who had failed first-line conservative and antimuscarinic therapy received 500-900 units of Dysport®between April 2014 and July 2015.All patients were followed up for 5 years after their initial injection and interviewed on the phone.Results:A total of 236 women with IDO aged from 18 years to 84 years(mean±standard deviation:49.6±15.9 years)were included in our study.The median follow-up time for patients was 36.5(range:10-70)months,and the median recovery time after injection was 18.5(range:0-70)months.A total of 83(35.2%)patients stated that they had subjective improvement of their symptoms whereas 84(35.6%)patients did not report any improvement in symptoms.The initial International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder mean score was 6.9(standard deviation 3.4).There was a positive association between the median recovery time and the components of the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder questionnaire.Conclusion:In a sub-population of overactive bladder patients with IDO who have failed first-line therapy,a single intravesical Dysport®injection can resolve patient symptoms completely or reduce the symptoms to an acceptable level that can be controlled with antimuscarinics or re-injection on demands.

Hyperspectral(HS)image classification plays a crucial role in numerous areas including remote sensing(RS),agriculture,and the monitoring of the environment.Optimal band selection in HS images is crucial for improving the efficiency and accuracy of image classification.This process involves selecting the most informative spectral bands,which leads to a reduction in data volume.Focusing on these key bands also enhances the accuracy of classification algorithms,as redundant or irrelevant bands,which can introduce noise and lower model performance,are excluded.In this paper,we propose an approach for HS image classification using deep Q learning(DQL)and a novel multi-objective binary grey wolf optimizer(MOBGWO).We investigate the MOBGWO for optimal band selection to further enhance the accuracy of HS image classification.In the suggested MOBGWO,a new sigmoid function is introduced as a transfer function to modify the wolves’position.The primary objective of this classification is to reduce the number of bands while maximizing classification accuracy.To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach,we conducted experiments on publicly available HS image datasets,including Pavia University,Washington Mall,and Indian Pines datasets.We compared the performance of our proposed method with several state-of-the-art deep learning(DL)and machine learning(ML)algorithms,including long short-term memory(LSTM),deep neural network(DNN),recurrent neural network(RNN),support vector machine(SVM),and random forest(RF).Our experimental results demonstrate that the Hybrid MOBGWO-DQL significantly improves classification accuracy compared to traditional optimization and DL techniques.MOBGWO-DQL shows greater accuracy in classifying most categories in both datasets used.For the Indian Pine dataset,the MOBGWO-DQL architecture achieved a kappa coefficient(KC)of 97.68%and an overall accuracy(OA)of 94.32%.This was accompanied by the lowest root mean square error(RMSE)of 0.94,indicating very precise predictions with minimal error.In the case of t

Objective: Depression affects people living with HIV(PLWH) compliance leading to poor control infection.Previous observational studies showed an anti-depression effect of green tea extract(GTE). The therapeutic effect of GTE on depression were investigated in PLWH receiving antiretroviral therapy(ART).Methods: Fifty PLWH on ART with diagnose of mild to moderate of depression, participated in a doubleblind, placebo-controlled trial and underwent 12 weeks of treatment with either 400 mg GTE capsules or placebo twice daily. The Hamilton depression scale of patients was measured before, 6 weeks and 12 weeks after treatment in two groups. The primary outcome measure was performed to evaluate the efficacy of GTE in improving depressive symptoms.Results: The mean of Hamilton score showed a significant difference between the two groups after 12 weeks(P = 0.035). Repeated measures ANOVA test showed a significant effect for time ? treatment interaction on the Hamilton mean score between the two groups(P = 0.000).Conclusion: It seems the use of GTE capsules in PLWH on ART is safe and could lead to greater and more rapid improvement in depressive symptoms than placebo. Thus it can be considered as an alternative therapy for mild to moderate depression. Further studies with higher sample size and longer followup and comparisons with other antidepressive drugs are warranted.

An improved probabilistic load flow in distribution networks based on clustering and Point estimate methods

Clustering approaches are one of the probabilistic load flow(PLF)methods in distribution networks that can be used to obtain output random variables,with much less computation burden and time than the Monte Carlo simulation(MCS)method.However,a challenge of the clustering methods is that the statistical characteristics of the output random variables are obtained with low accuracy.This paper presents a hybrid approach based on clustering and Point estimate methods.In the proposed approach,first,the sample points are clustered based on the𝑙-means method and the optimal agent of each cluster is determined.Then,for each member of the population of agents,the deterministic load flow calculations are performed,and the output variables are calculated.Afterward,a Point estimate-based PLF is performed and the mean and the standard deviation of the output variables are obtained.Finally,the statistical data of each output random variable are modified using the Point estimate method.The use of the proposed method makes it possible to obtain the statistical properties of output random variables such as mean,standard deviation and probabilistic functions,with high accuracy and without significantly increasing the burden of calculations.In order to confirm the consistency and efficiency of the proposed method,the 10-,33-,69-,85-,and 118-bus standard distribution networks have been simulated using coding in Python®programming language.In simulation studies,the results of the proposed method have been compared with the results obtained from the clustering method as well as the MCS method,as a criterion.

This paper investigates how the dimensions and arrangements of stadium silicon nanowires(NWs)affect their absorption properties.Compared to other NWs,the structure proposed here has a simple geometry,while its absorption rate is compa-rable to that of very complex structures.It is shown that changing the cross-section of NW from circular(or rectangular)to a stadium shape leads to change in the position and the number of absorption modes of the NW.In a special case,these modes result in the maximum absorption inside NWs.Another method used in this paper to attain broadband absorption is utiliza-tion of multiple NWs which have different geometries.However,the maximum enhancement is achieved using non-close packed NW.These structures can support more cavity modes,while NW scattering leads to broadening of the absorption spectra.All the structures are optimized using particle swarm optimizations.Using these optimized structures,it is viable to enhance the absorption by solar cells without introducing more absorbent materials.

This paper examines historical urban fabrics’challenges regarding quality of life and visual disturbances despite their cultural and identity value.Regeneration and socialoriented approaches considering social,economic,and cultural dimensions preserve and enhance these valuable materials.Tactical urbanism,with its people-oriented approach,can address these issues.This study focused on Sarpol in Khomeinishahr County,Isfahan Province of Iran.The city’s urban structure divides into two parts:despite its active social structure and valuable spaces,Sarpol is a historic neighborhood with significant deterioration.We followed Corbin and Strauss’s version of Grounded Theory in the qualitative research methodology.Purposive and snowball sampling methods were employed to select 21 participants from the Sarpol neighborhood for semi-structured interviews.The analysis involved three stages of coding:open,axial,and selective.The themes included religious participation,identity,sustainable social bonds,indigenous dependence,and low environmental quality.The central issue identified was the crucial role of religious and cultural values as a driving force for tactical urbanism,which emerged as the most critical semantic domain related to the research problem.

Conceptual Design Process for LEO Satellite Constellations Based on System Engineering Disciplines

Satellite design process is an interdisciplinary subject in which the need for collaboration among various science and engineering disciplines is evident.Meanwhile,finding an optimal process for conceptual design of a satellite,which can optimize time and cost,is still an important issue.In this paper,based on system engineering approach,an optimal design process is proposed for LEO satellite constellations.In the proposed method,design process,design sequences,and data flow are established.In this regard,the conceptual design process is divided into two levels of mission(or constellation)and system(or satellite)as well as 15 main activities based on the mission profile,previous experiences of the authors,and existing literature.Then,the relationships between these activities have been determined by considering the importance of relationships according to their priority.Finally,these relations are optimized based on design structure matrix(DSM).By utilizing this approach,system design process of a telecommunication satellite constellation in LEO is formulated in conceptual design phase.Performance and capability of the proposed approach in optimal design process of the satellite constellation are investigated by comparing the outcome with existing results in the literature.

Association of risky driving behavior with psychiatric disorders among Iranian drivers:A case-control study

Purpose:This study aimed to investigate the possible association between psychological disorders and riskydriving behavior(RDB)in Iran.Methods:This case-control study conducted in Shiraz,Iran in 2021.The case group included drivers with psychological disorders and the control group included those without any disorders.The inclusion criteria for selecting patients were:active driving at the time of the study,being 18-65 years old,having a driving license,having a psychological disorder including depression,bipolar disorder,anxiety spectrum disorder,or psychotic disorder spectrum confirmed by a psychiatrist,and completing an informed consent form.The exclusion criterion was the existence of conditions that interfered with answering and understanding the questions.The inclusion criteria for selecting the healthy cases were:active driving at the time of the study,being 18-65 years old,having a driving license,lack of any past or present history of psychiatric problems,and completing an informed consent form.The data were gathered using a researcher-made checklist and Manchester driving behavior questionnaire.First,partition around medoids method was used to extract clusters of RDB.Then,backward logistic regression was applied to investigate the association between the independent variables and the clusters of RDB.Results:The sample comprised of 344(153 with psychological disorder and 191 without confirmed psychological disorder)drivers.Backward elimination logistic regression on total data revealed that share of medical expenditure≤10%of total household expenditure(OR=3.27,95%Cl:1.48-7.24),psychological disorder(OR=3.08,95%Cl:1.67-5.70),and substance abuse class(OR=6.38,95%CI:3.55-11.48)wereassociatedwithhighlevelof RDB.Conclusion:Substance abuse,psychological illnesses,and share of medical costs from total household expenditure were found to be main predictors of RDB.Further investigations are necessary to explain the impact of different psychological illnesses on driving behavior.

The information technology barriers in supply chain of sugarcane in Khuzestan province,Iran:A combined ANP-DEMATEL approach

The present study aims at identifying and also prioritizing information technology barriers in supply chain of sugarcane in Khuzestan province.The statistical population of the study consisted of all senior managers of sugarcane industries in the province.Of four large rel-evant companies in the field,34 senior managers were selected.The required data was col-lected through two stages hiring questionnaires.In order to evaluate information technology barriers at the supply chain level,six main dimensions were considered includ-ing technological,supply chain management,strategic,organizational,individual and cus-tomer barriers.DEMATEL technique was also used to identify the relationship between indicators,and the ANP method was also employed to prioritize the before mentioned bar-riers.The results of DEMATEL showed that strategic barrier indicator acts as the most influ-ential,and the supply chain management barrier indicator as the most impotent one.The results of ANP method showed that of all research indicators,customer barrier indicator(weight 0.00127)was the most important indicator.Next,organizational and supply chain management barrier indicators are ranked second and third,respectively.Also,among the 28 research components(sub-criteria),the“lack of financial support”component with the weight of 0.04821 ranked first,followed by“poor outsourcing management”and“high investment and installation costs”as second and third respectively,which also had the most impact on the sugarcane supply chain.
