Resveratrol and fenofibrate ameliorate fructose-induced nonalcoholic steatohepatitis by modulation of genes expression

AIM: To evaluate the effect of resveratrol, alone and in combination with fenofibrate, on fructose-induced metabolic genes abnormalities in ***: Giving a fructose-enriched diet (FED) to rats for 12 wk was used as a model for inducing hepatic dyslipidemia and insulin resistance. Adult male albino rats (150-200 g) were divided into a control group and a FED group which was subdivided into 4 groups, a control FED, fenofibrate (FENO) (100 mg/kg), resveratrol (RES) (70 mg/kg) and combined treatment (FENO + RES) (half the doses). All treatments were given orally from the 9th week till the end of experimental period. Body weight, oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), liver index, glucose, insulin, insulin resistance (HOMA), serum and liver triglycerides (TGs), oxidative stress (liver MDA, GSH and SOD), serum AST, ALT, AST/ALT ratio and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) were measured. Additionally, hepatic gene expression of suppressor of cytokine signaling-3 (SOCS-3), sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c (SREBP-1c), fatty acid synthase (FAS), malonyl CoA decarboxylase (MCD), transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and adipose tissue genes expression of leptin and adiponectin were investigated. Liver sections were taken for histopathological examination and steatosis area were ***: Rats fed FED showed damaged liver, impairment of glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, oxidative stress and dyslipidemia. As for gene expression, there was a change in favor of dyslipidemia and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) development. All treatment regimens showed some benefit in reversing the described deviations. Fructose caused deterioration in hepatic gene expression of SOCS-3, SREBP-1c, FAS, MDA and TGF-β1 and in adipose tissue gene expression of leptin and adiponectin. A major issue while building web applications is proper input validation and *** can quickly exploit errors and vulnerabilities that lead to malicious behavior in web application validation *** are rapidly improving their capabilities and technologies and now focus on exploiting vulnerabilities in web applications and compromising ***-site scripting(XSS)and SQL injection attack(SQLIA)are attacks in which a hacker sends malicious inputs(cheat codes)to confuse a web application,to access or disable the application’s back-end without user *** this paper,we explore the problem of detecting and removing bugs from both client-side and server-side code.A new idea that allows assault detection and prevention using the input validation mechanism is *** addition,the project supports web security tests by providing easy-to-use and accurate models of vulnerability prediction and methods for *** these attributes imply a program statement that is vulnerable in an SQLIA,this can be evaluated and checked for a set of static code ***,we provide a script whitelisting interception layer built into the browser’s JavaScript engine,where the SQLIA is eventually detected and the XSS attack resolved using the method of input validation and script whitelisting under pushdown *** framework was tested under a scenario of an SQL attack and *** is demonstrated to offer an extensive improvement over the current *** framework’s main ability lies in the decrease of bogus *** has been demonstrated utilizing new methodologies,nevertheless giving unique access to sites dependent on the peculiarity score related to web *** proposed input validation framework is shown to identify all anomalies and delivers better execution in contrast with the current program.

Airstacknet: A Stacking Ensemble-Based Approach for Air Quality Prediction

The quality of the airwe breathe during the courses of our daily lives has a significant impact on our health and well-being as ***,personal air quality measurement remains *** this study,we investigate the use of first-person photos for the prediction of air *** main idea is to harness the power of a generalized stacking approach and the importance of haze features extracted from first-person images to create an efficient new stacking model called AirStackNet for air pollution *** consists of two layers and four regression models,where the first layer generates meta-data fromLight Gradient Boosting Machine(Light-GBM),Extreme Gradient Boosting Regression(XGBoost)and CatBoost Regression(CatBoost),whereas the second layer computes the final prediction from the meta-data of the first layer using Extra Tree Regression(ET).The performance of the proposed AirStackNet model is validated using public Personal Air Quality Dataset(PAQD).Our experiments are evaluated using Mean Absolute Error(MAE),Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),Coefficient of Determination(R2),Mean Squared Error(MSE),Root Mean Squared Logarithmic Error(RMSLE),and Mean Absolute Percentage Error(MAPE).Experimental Results indicate that the proposed AirStackNet model not only can effectively improve air pollution prediction performance by overcoming the Bias-Variance tradeoff,but also outperforms baseline and state of the art models.

Assemblage at public places for religious or sports events has become an integral part of our *** gatherings pose a challenge at places where fast crowd verification with social distancing(SD)is required,especially during a ***,verification of crowds is carried out in the form of a queue that increases waiting time resulting in congestion,stampede,and the spread of *** article proposes a cluster verification model(CVM)using a wireless sensor network(WSN),single cluster approach(SCA),and split cluster approach(SpCA)to solve the aforementioned problem for pandemic *** show that SD,cluster approaches,and verification by WSN can overcome the management issues by optimizing the cluster size and verification ***,our proposed method minimizes the chances of spreading diseases and stampedes in large events such as a *** consider the assembly points in the annual pilgrimage to Makkah Al-Mukarmah and Umrah for verification using Contiki/Cooja *** compute results such as verified cluster members(CMs)to define cluster size,success rate to determine the best success rate,and verification time to determine the optimal verification time for various *** validate ourmodel by comparing the results of each approach with the existing *** results showthat the SpCAwith SD is the best approach with a 96% success rate and optimization of verification time as compared to SCA with SD and the existing model.

Hypertriglyceridemic pancreatitis(HTGP) accounts for up to 10% of acute pancreatitis presentations in nonpregnant individuals and is the third most common cause of acute pancreatitis after alcohol and gallstones. There are a number of retrospective studies and case reports that have suggested a role for apheresis and insulin infusion in the acute inpatient setting. We report a case of HTGP in a male with hyperlipoproteinemia type Ⅲ who was treated successfully with insulin and apheresis on the initial inpatient presentation followed by bi-monthly outpatient maintenance apheresis sessions for the prevention of recurrent HTGP. We also reviewed the literature for the different inpatient and outpatient management modalities of HTGP. Given that there are no guidelines or randomized clinical trials that evaluate the outpatient management of HTGP, this case report may provide insight into a possible role for outpatient apheresis maintenance therapy.

Hydrodynamics and suspended sediment transport at tidal inlets of Salut Mengkabong Lagoon, Sabah, Malaysia

Salut-Mengabong Lagoon is located at the west coast of Sabah facing the South China Sea. At the bay side of the main inlet the lagoon splits into Salut and Mengabong Channels. Sediment dynamics at the inlets of the lagoon have recently received considerable attention. But any direct measurement of hydrodynamics and sediment flux are yet to be well documented. This study covers the field measurements of current velocity, water flux, suspended sediment concentration and sediment flux across the three transects (main inlet, Salut entrance and Mengkabong entrance) during typical spring and neap tidal cycles in southwest monsoon and northeast monsoon. Temporal variations and timeaveraged values of measured parameters are discussed. The inlets of Salut-Mengkabong Lagoon are found to be ebb-dominated. The time-averaged velocities during spring tidal measurements are found to be higher in the main inlet followed by Mengkabong entrance and Salut entrance. Suspended sediment concentration and sediment fluxes are substantially higher in spring tidal cycles compared to the same in neap tidal cycles. During spring tidal cycles, ebb tidal sediment fluxes are higher than the flood tidal fluxes. The ebb dominated flux across the main inlet led to the large ebb shoal.
