Chenopodium.album.is an invasive weed in wheat fields in Egypt. The present study indicated the potentials for utilization of m.LAE （m.ngifera indica leaves aqueous extract） at different concentrations （5%, 10%, 15% and 25%） to suppress the germ.nation and growth of C. album.in Petri dish experim.nt Results indicated that predictable degrees of inhibition in C album.germ.nation and growth rate of seedlings were accom.anied with the increase in the concentration of m.LAE. PL （Plum.le） and RL （radicle） lengths of C. album.were negatively affected as the concentration of m.LAE increased and the effect was prom.nent at 25% extract concentration. This study recom.ended the use of m.LAE as strong phytotoxic potential allelochem.cals. an alternative bioherbicides, since its leaves extract possess

The burning of agricultural waste is a m.jor cause of environm.ntal *** this study,we sought to prepare biochar from.agricultural waste as a source m.terial for the preparation of carbon nanoparticles(CNPs).Surface m.rphology,hydrodynam.c particle size,and purity and crystallinity of CNPs were extensively investigated using transm.ssion electron m.croscopy(TEm.,zeta sizing,and X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,*** CNPs were subsequently im.ersed in a solution of potassium.nitrate(KNO_(3))to prepare a CNPs/NK nanocom.osite(CNPs loaded with nitrogen(N)and potassium.K))as a nanocom.osite fertilizer for com.on bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.).The CNPs/NK nanocom.osite was sprayed as a foliar fertilizer at 0,10,20,30,and 40 m. L^(-1) on com.on bean plants 25 d after sowing on a farm.in Shebin el-Kom.el-m.nifia,*** growth,yield,and quality of com.on bean were investigated during two successive growing seasons(2017 and 2018).The highest seed yields of 2.04 and 2.01 t ha^(-1) and the highest values of growth param.ters including plant height of 61.5 and 59.2 cm.num.er of leaves per plant of 35 and 35,num.er of flowers per plant of 83.3 and 82.7,and plant fresh weight of 148.7 and 152.8 g plant^(-1) were obtained when using the CNPs/NK nanocom.osite at a concentration of 20 m. L^(-1) during the 2017 and 2018 growing seasons,respectively.

Background and Objective: Head traum. in infants is a com.on health problem.that has not been the focus of m.ny research articles. The aim.of study was to describe the epidem.ology, etiology, m.nagem.nt and clinical outcom. of head traum. in infants (m.thods: This study was conducted on 95 consecutive infants with head traum. adm.tted to the neurotraum. unit in Cairo University hospitals during the period between Septem.er 2013 and Decem.er 2014. The data of these patients including age, sex, m.de of traum., neurological status on adm.ssion, CT findings, operative details in surgical cases, clinical outcom., and length of hospital stay were analyzed. Results: The study included 57 boys and 38 girls, with m.an age of 13.2 m.nths (range: 3 days - 23 m.nths). The m.st com.on m.de of traum. was falls (82.1%). m.st of the patients had m.ld head injury (84.2%). Twenty two patients were operated upon, including 9 patients for evacuation of hem.tom.s, 11 patients for elevation of depressed fractures, 1 patient for decom.ressive craniotom. and 1 patient for growing skull fracture. Good recovery followed in 83 patients. There were 4 deaths. m.an length of stay was 4 days (range: 1 - 31 days). Conclusion: m.st of head injuries in infants are m.ld. The com.onest etiology is falls, which is a preventable cause in m.ny circum.tances. The m.jority of these patients do not require surgical intervention. Good recovery is the rule in m.st of these infants with low m.rtality rates.

Zinc (Zn (II) HEDTA) was used to determ.ne their effect on salt-induced dam.ges in m.ize plants. The aim.of this study was to investigate the antioxidant capacity and the levels of enhanced total phenolic (TPC), total flavonoid (TFC) contents and their antioxidant activity in leaves of two m.ize cultivars Single cross 10 (SC10) and Single cross 162 (SC162) grown in two levels of salinity 0.00 and 100 m.ol in response to 20 μm.l Zn (II) HEDTA foliar spray treatm.nts. Significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) in am.unts of TPC ranged from.(2.55 to 4.62 m./gdw as Gallic) in Single cross 10 (SC10) and from.(2.53 to 4.38 m./gdw as Gallic) in Single cross 162 (SC162), TFC (ranged 1.53 to 2.41 m./gdw as qurestien) in Single cross 10 (SC10) and from.(1.28 to 2.41 m./gdw as qurestien) in Single cross 162 (SC162) am.ng all treated plants were observed. The levels of their com.ounds increase related to foliar spraying of Zn (II) HEDTA. A significant positive correlation between TPC, TFC and DPPH scavenging activity and iron chelating activity was observed which shows that phenolic com.ounds were involved in the m.chanism.of salt tolerance of the two cultivars by showing enhanced antioxidant activity which resulted in reduced m.m.rane dam.ge and hence im.roved growth. According to the results obtained, the adverse effects of salt stress on m.ize plants can partly be alleviated with application of Zn (II)-HEDTA chelates. It is concluded that the application of Zn (II) HEDTA to m.ize plants grown in salt conditions leads to the increase of antioxidant com.ounds and m.ize tolerance.
