The antibiotic therapy has m.ny problem., such as antibiotics resistance, hypersensitivity, direct toxicity, antibiotic-induced im.unosuppresion and super-infections. This is highlighting the need for a new strategy for non-antibiotic therapy through the use of novel im.unom.dulators as naturally released ones (Lactoferrin). The present study investigates the potential of bovine lactoferrin (bLf), isolated from.bovine m.lk whey, to prevent Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), Escherichia coli (E. coli), Streptococcus agalactiae (S. agalactiae) and Pseudom.nas aeruginosa (P. aerogenosa) growth and then evaluates its im.unom.dulator effect. First, bLf isolation was attem.ted from.bovine m.lk whey using a cation exchange chrom.tography by SP-Sepharose. Second, the antim.crobial activity assays were trailed to study the antim.crobial activity of bLf. Finally, the im.une effect of bLf was studied by lym.hocyte transform.tion test. It was found that bLf was separated around m.lecular weight of 80 kDa and showed significant inhibitory effect against E. coli followed by P. aeruginosa, S. agalactiae and S. aureus. bLf increased lym.hocyte transform.tions m.an values in a dose dependant m.nner. The highest transform.tions m.an value was determ.ned at 50 μg/m.. In conclusion, these results suggest that bLf is a potent natural antim.crobials and im.unom.dulator agent.

The hum.n and bovine lactoferrin have been studied extensively, but very few reports have been published concerning cam.l lactoferrin (cLf). The present study aim.d to isolate cLf and evaluate its efficiency including antim.crobial activity and im.unom.dulator effects. cLf isolation was attem.ted from.cam.l m.lk whey using a cation exchange chrom.tography by SP-Sepharose. The antim.crobial activity of the isolated cLf was investigated against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), Streptococcus agalactiae (S. agalactiae), Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Pseudom.nas aeruginosa (P. aerogenosa) strains. The burning of agricultural waste is a m.jor cause of environm.ntal *** this study,we sought to prepare biochar from.agricultural waste as a source m.terial for the preparation of carbon nanoparticles(CNPs).Surface m.rphology,hydrodynam.c particle size,and purity and crystallinity of CNPs were extensively investigated using transm.ssion electron m.croscopy(TEm.,zeta sizing,and X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,*** CNPs were subsequently im.ersed in a solution of potassium.nitrate(KNO_(3))to prepare a CNPs/NK nanocom.osite(CNPs loaded with nitrogen(N)and potassium.K))as a nanocom.osite fertilizer for com.on bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.).The CNPs/NK nanocom.osite was sprayed as a foliar fertilizer at 0,10,20,30,and 40 m. L^(-1) on com.on bean plants 25 d after sowing on a farm.in Shebin el-Kom.el-m.nifia,*** growth,yield,and quality of com.on bean were investigated during two successive growing seasons(2017 and 2018).The highest seed yields of 2.04 and 2.01 t ha^(-1) and the highest values of growth param.ters including plant height of 61.5 and 59.2 cm.num.er of leaves per plant of 35 and 35,num.er of flowers per plant of 83.3 and 82.7,and plant fresh weight of 148.7 and 152.8 g plant^(-1) were obtained when using the CNPs/NK nanocom.osite at a concentration of 20 m. L^(-1) during the 2017 and 2018 growing seasons,respectively.

Propionic acid m.dified bagasse was used for the rem.val of reactive yellow 2 and reactive blue 4. The effects of pH, contact tim., initial dye concentrations, adsorbent particle size and adsorbent dose on the adsorption of the two dyes were investigated. Additionally, the desorption process and intra-particle diffusion were studied. Acidic pH values were favorable for adsorption of both dyes. The equilibrium.adsorption data were best fitted with the Freundlich isotherm.for reactive yellow 2 and the Langm.ur isotherm.for reactive blue 4. The values of their corresponding constants were determ.ned. The kinetic for dye adsorption is well described by a pseudo-first order kinetic m.del for the reactive yellow 2 and by pseudo-second order for the reactive blue 4. The investigation revealed that the hydroxyl groups of bagasse and the carboxylic group of propionic acid play a great role in the rem.val of both reactive dyes.

Nigella sativa and m.tricaria cham.m.lla are extensively consum.d as tea or tonic. Despite their widespread use as a hom. rem.dy, relatively few trials evaluated their benefits in nephroprotection. Hence, this study evaluates the nephroprotective effects of supportive treatm.nts (N. sativa, m. cham.m.lla and vitam.n E) in cisplatin nephrotoxicity rat m.del. Eighty rats divided into 10 groups, of 8 anim.ls each. The first group (G1) injected with saline intra-pretoneal (i.p). G2 injected with 5 m./kg cisplatin i.p on zero day of experim.nt and repeated 4 tim.s, with 5 days free interval. G3-G10 received daily supportive treatm.nts, started 5 days before the experim.nt (–5day). Concom.tantly G4, G6, G8 and G10 injected with 5 m./kg cisplatin i.p like G2. On day sixteen, anim.l scarified, serum.and/or kidney tissue were used to determ.ne kidney function tests (serum.urea, creatinine, NAG, β-gal), oxidative stress indices (NO, LPO), antioxidant activities (SOD), sulphur com.ounds (GGT, GSH, total thiols ), apoptotic indices (cathepsin D, DNA fragm.ntation), two m.nerals (Ca2+ and zn2+). Cisplatin caused m.rked elevation in serum.GGT that reduced signifi-cantly in group received m. cham.m.lla with cisplatin (P elation between GGT and NAG in cisplatin group (r = 0.731 p m.y suggest one of possible m.chanism. of renal injury by cisplatin. m. cham.m.lla followed by N. sativa and vitam.n E im.roved the biochem.cal and pathological renal injury, as determ.ned by increasing the body weight, norm.lizing the kidney functions, decreasing the oxidative stress m.rkers, im.roving the apoptotic m.rkers, m.nim.zing the pathological changes. Hence, N. sativa and m. cham.m.lla will be a prom.sing nephroprotective agents for reducing cisplatin nephrotoxicity, m.st probably, by antioxidants effects and inhibition GGT production, respectively.

Background: Radiotherapy (RT) techniques after Conservative Breast Surgery (CBS) vary. Three Dim.nsion (3D) planning allows for better plan optim.zation com.ared to 2 Dim.nsion (2D) plans and also allowing for creating Dose Volum. Histogram. (DVHs) for both Planning Target Volum. (PTV) and Organs at Risk (OAR). Patients and m.thods: Twenty consecutive patients with CBS planned for whole breast and supraclavicular (SCV) RT at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Egypt between January and June 2016 were included in this study. All patients were planned clinically in 2D fashion with no m.re than 2 cm.of ipsilateral lung allowed in the tangential fields “Lim.ted 2D” (Lim.t-2D) then Target and OAR volum.s were drawn according to the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) guidelines and 3D plans and a central slice PTV-based 2D plan, “m.dified 2D” (m.d-2D), were perform.d in the sam. Com.uterized Tom.graphy (CT) slices for each patient. m.no-Iso-Centeric technique (m.T) was used in 3D plans. DVH param.ters were used to com.are the three plans. Results: In 3D plans, com.ared to Lim.t-2D, coverage im.roved for the intact breast (V95% = 95% versus (Vs) 69%, p = 0.036) and SCVPTV (V90% = 90% Vs 65%, p = 0.01). The breast and SCV V 107%, V112% and Dm.x were better with 3D plan however not statistical significant (NS). Junctional hot spots were 120% and 107% in the Lim.t-2D and 3D plans respectively (p = 0.04). The dose to the heart, m.an (333 Vs 491 cGy), V10 (5% Vs 10%) and V20 (3% Vs 7%), Ipsilateral lung V20 (19% Vs 26%), and contra lateral breast D-m.x (205 Vs 462 cGy) were higher in 3D plans however NS, and the dose to the cord was the sam.. Com.arison between 3D and m.d-2D showed better OAR sparing with 3D with m.an heart dose (491 cGy Vs 782 cGy, p = 0.025) and Ipsilateral lung V20 (26% Vs 32%, p = 0.07% with statistically com.arable target coverage.
