A thin film of copper phthalocyanine（CuPc）,a p-type semiconductor,was deposited by thermal evaporation in vacuum on an n-type gallium arsenide（GaAs） single-crystal semiconductor *** semitransparent Ag thin film was deposited onto the CuPc film also by thermal evaporation to fabricate the Ag/p-CuPc /n-GaAs/Ag *** of the cell was measured in photoresistive and photodiode modes of operation. It was observed that with an increase in illumination,the photoresistance decreased in reverse bias while it increased in forward *** photocurrent was increased in reverse bias *** forward bias operation with an increase in illumination,the photocurrent showed a different behavior depending on the voltage applied.

In block ciphers,the nonlinear components,also known as substitution boxes(S-boxes),are used with the purpose to induce confusion in *** the last decade,most of the work on designing S-boxes over the points of elliptic curves,chaotic maps,and Gaussian integers has been *** main purpose of these studies is to hide data and improve the security levels of crypto *** this work,we design pair of nonlinear components of a block cipher over the residue class of Eisenstein integers(EI).The fascinating features of this structure provide S-boxes pair at a time by fixing three ***,in the same way,by taking three fixed parameters only one S-box is obtained through a prime field-dependent Elliptic curve(EC),chaotic maps,and Gaussian *** newly designed pair of S-boxes are assessed by various tests like nonlinearity,bit independence criterion,strict avalanche criterion,linear approximation probability,and differential approximation probability.

This paper investigates the properties of displacement sensors based on polyaniline （PANI） films. About 1 wt% of PANI micropowder is mixed and stirred in a solution of 90 wt% water and 10 wt% alcohol at room temperature. The films of PANI axe deposited from solution by drop-casting on Ag electrodes, which are preliminary deposited on glass substrates. The thicknesses of the PANI films are in the range of 20 μm-80 μm. A displacement sensor with polyaniline film as an active material is designed and fabricated. The investigations showed that, on average, the AC resistance of the sensor decreases by 2 times and the capacitance accordingly increases by 1.6 times as the displacement changes in the range of 0 mm-0.5 mm. The polyaniline is the only active material of the displacement sensor. The resistance and capacitance of the PANI changes under the pressure of spring and elastic rubber, and this pressure is created by the downward movement of the micrometer.

Medical Resonance Imaging(MRI)is a noninvasive,nonradioactive,and meticulous diagnostic modality capability in the field of medical ***,the efficiency of MR image reconstruction is affected by its bulky image sets and slow process ***,to obtain a high-quality reconstructed image we presented a sparse aware noise removal technique that uses convolution neural network(SANR_CNN)for eliminating noise and improving the MR image reconstruction *** proposed noise removal or denoising technique adopts a fast CNN architecture that aids in training larger datasets with improved quality,and SARN algorithm is used for building a dictionary learning technique for denoising large image *** proposed SANR_CNN model also preserves the details and edges in the image during *** experiment was conducted to analyze the performance of SANR_CNN in a few existing models in regard with peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR),structural similarity index(SSIM),and mean squared error(MSE).The proposed SANR_CNN model achieved higher PSNR,SSIM,and MSE efficiency than the other noise removal *** proposed architecture also provides transmission of these denoised medical images through secured IoT architecture.

Two-dimensional boundary layer flow of an incompressible third grade nanofluid over a stretching surface is *** of thermophoresis and Brownian motion is considered in the presence of Newtonian heating and viscous *** nonlinear problems of velocity, temperature and nanoparticle concentration are solved via homotopic *** is examined graphically and numerically. Results of temperature and nanoparticle concentration are plotted and discussed for various values of material parameters, Prandtl number, Lewis number, Newtonian heating parameter, Eckert number and thermophoresis and Brownian motion parameters. Numerical computations are performed. The results show that the change in temperature and nanoparticle concentration distribution functions is similar when we use higher values of material parameters β1 andβ2. It is seen that the temperature and thermal boundary layer thickness are increasing functions of Newtonian heating parameter γ.An increase in thermophoresis and Brownian motion parameters tends to an enhancement in the temperature.

Effects of hooked-collar on the local scour around a lenticular bridge pier

This paper presents the results of comprehensive laboratory experiments to investigate the effects of hooked-collar on the scour development around a vertical pier with a lenticular cross section. The flow around the pier was uniform, steady, and under the clear-water condition. The axial scour profiles for cases without and with a lenticular hooked-collar were measured and the effects of hooked-collar dimensions and elevation from the bed were examined. To compute the efficiency of hooked-collar for scour prevention, the results of local scour for a bridge pier without a collar and a bridge pier with a plain collar, without a hooked wall, were used as benchmark data sets. A wide range of hooked-collar geometries such as the ratio of collar width to the pier width, Wc/Wp, ranging from 1.5 to 3.5, the ratio of hooked-collar wall height to the pier width, Hc/Wp, ranging from 0.15 to 0.6, and the ratio of collar elevation to the pier width, Ec/Wp, of-0.5, 0, and 0.5 were tested. The experimental results indicated that the equilibrium scour depth decreased with the ratio of hooked-collar to the pier width when Wcis twice the pier width, Wp. For Wc/Wp> 2, the scour depth was similar to the tests with an infinitely large pier width. In addition, the scour depth consistently reduced as the hooked-collar wall height, Hc, to the pier width, Wp, approached 0.3. The highest scour reduction efficiency was achieved when the hooked-collar being placed on the bed surface. Empirical models were developed for prediction of maximum scour depth near the lenticular bridge pier with a modified collar. The results showed that the volume of scour hole around a lenticular pier increased non-linearly with the maximum scour depth and it was independent of the hooked-collar geometry.

Highly ductile cement-based materials have emerged as alternatives to conventional concrete materials to improve the seismic resistance of reinforced concrete(RC)*** experimental and numerical research on the behavior of individual components has provided signiﬁcant knowledge on element-level response,relatively little is known about how ductile cement-based materials inﬂuence system-level behavior in seismic *** study uses recently developed lumped-plasticity models to simulate the unique failure characteristics and ductility of reinforced ductile-cement-based materials in beam hinges and applies them in the assessment of archetype frame *** story heights(four,eight,and twelve),frame conﬁgurations(perimeter ***),materials(conventional *** concrete),and replacement mechanisms within the beam hinges are considered in the seismic analysis of the archetype *** and comparisons are made in terms of the probability of collapse at 2%in 50-year ground motion,mean annual frequency of collapse,and adjusted collapse margin ratio(ACMR)across archetype *** results show that engineered HPFRCCs in beam plastic-hinge regions can improve the seismic safety of moment frame buildings with higher collapse margin ratios,lower probability of collapse,and the ability to withstand large *** is also reported on how ductile concrete materials can reduce concrete volume and longitudinal reinforcement tonnage across frame conﬁgurations and story heights while maintaining or improving seismic resistance of the structural *** demonstrate future research needs to assess life-cycle costs,predict column hinge behavior,and develop code-based design methods for structural systems using highly ductile concrete materials.

A study on heat transfer performance by thermal fluid coupling simulation for the fouling in a shell-tube heat exchanger used in engineering was presented. The coupling simulation was performed in a fluid and solid domains under three different fouling conditions: fouling inside the tube, fouling outside the tube, and fouling inside the shell. The flow field, temperature, and pressure distributions in the heat exchanger were solved numerically to analyze the heat transfer performance parameters, such as thermal resistance. It is found that the pressure drop of the heat exchanger and the thermal resistance of the tube wall increase by nearly 30% and 20%, respectively, when the relative fouling thickness reaches 10%. The fouling inside the tube has more impact on the heat transfer performance of the heat exchanger, and the fouling inside the shell has less impact.
