Propose:In this study,we re-assessed the criteria defined by the radiological society of North America(RSNA)to determine novel radiological findings helping the physicians differentiating COVID-19 from pulmonary ***:All trauma patients with blunt chest wall trauma and subsequent pulmonary contusion,COVID-19-related signs and symptoms before the trauma were enrolled in this retrospective study from February to May *** patients(Group P)were then classified into two groups based on polymerase chain reaction tests(Group Pa for positive patients and Pb for negative ones).Moreover,44 patients from the prepandemic period(Group PP)were *** were matched to Group P regarding age,sex,and trauma-related *** radiologists blindly reviewed the CT images of all enrolled patients according to criteria defined by the RSNA *** radiological findings were compared between Group P and Group PP;statistically significant ones were re-evaluated between Group Pa and Group Pb ***,the sensitivity and specificity of each significant findings were *** Chi-square test was used to compare the radiologica丨findings between Group P and Group ***:In the Group PP,73.7%of all ground-glass opacities(GGOs)and 80%of all multiple bilateral GGOs were detected(p<0.001 and p=0.25,respectively).Single bilateral GGOs were only seen among the Group *** Chi-square tests showed that the prevalence of diffused GGOs,multiple unilateral GGOs,multiple consolidations,and multiple bilateral consolidations were significantly higher in the Group P(p=0.001,0.01,0.003,and 0.003,respectively).However,GGOs with irregular borders and single consolidations were more significant among the Group PP(p=0.01 and 0.003,respectively).Of note,reticular distortions and subpleural spares were exclusively detected in the Group ***:We concluded that the criteria set by RSNA for the diagnosis of COVID-19 are not appropriate in trauma ***

Dual primary gastric and colorectal cancer:The known hereditary causes and underlying mechanisms

In this editorial,I commented on the paper by Lin et al,published in this issue of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal *** work aimed at analysing the clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis of synchronous and metachronous cancers in patients with dual primary gastric and colorectal cancer(CRC).The authors concluded the necessity for regular surveillance for metachronous cancer during postoperative follow-up and reported the prognosis is influenced by the gastric cancer(GC)stage rather than the CRC *** surveillance was recommended in the conclusion,the authors did not explore this area in their study and did not include tests used for such *** editorial focuses on the most characterized gastrointestinal cancer susceptibility syndromes concerning dual gastric and *** include hereditary diffuse GC,familial adenomatous polyposis,hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer,Lynch syndrome,and three major hamartomatous polyposis syndromes associated with CRC and GC,namely Peutz-Jeghers syndrome,juvenile polyposis syndrome,and PTEN hamartoma *** assessment of these syndromes/conditions,including inheritance,risk of gastric and colorectal or other cancer development,genetic mutations and recommended genetic investigations,is crucial for optimum management of these patients.

Temperature-jump tensile tests to induce optimized TRIP/TWIP effect in a metastable austenitic stainless steel

In the present work,plastic deformation mechanisms were initially tailored by adjusting the deformation temperature in the range of 0 to 200℃ in AISI 304L austenitic stainless steel,aiming to optimize the strength-ductility *** was shown that the combined twinning-induced plasticity(TWIP)/transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP)effects and a wider strain range for the TRIP effect up to higher strains by adjusting the deformation temperature are good strategies to improve the strength-ductility synergy of this metastable stainless *** this regard,by consideration of the observed temperature-dependency of plastic deformation,the controlled sequence of TWIP and TRIP effects for archiving superior strength-ductility trade-off was intended by the pre-designed temperature jump tensile ***,the optimum tensile toughness of 846 MJ/m^(3) and total elongation to 133% were obtained by this strategy via exploiting the advantages of the TWIP effect at 100℃ and the TRIP effect at 25℃ at the later stages of the ***,a deformation-temperature-transformation(DTT)diagram was developed for this metastable ***,based on work-hardening analysis,it was found that the main phenomenon constraining further improvement in the ductility and strengthening was the yielding of the deformation-induced α′-martensite.

Interplay between temperature-dependent strengthening mechanisms and mechanical stability in high-performance austenitic stainless steels

The effects of deformation temperature on the transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP)-aided 304L,twinning-induced plasti-city(TWIP)-assisted 316L,and highly alloyed stable 904L austenitic stainless steels were compared for the first time to tune the mechan-ical properties,strengthening mechanisms,and strength-ductility *** this purpose,the scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD),X-ray diffraction(XRD),tensile testing,work-hardening analysis,and thermodynamics calcu-lations were *** induced plasticity effects led to a high temperature-dependency of work-hardening behavior in the 304L and 316L stainless *** the deformation temperature increased,the metastable 304L stainless steel showed the sequence of TRIP,TWIP,and weakening of the induced plasticity mechanism;while the disappearance of the TWIP effect in the 316L stainless steel was also ***,the solid-solution strengthening in the 904L superaustenitic stainless steel maintained the tensile properties over a wide temper-ature range,surpassing the performance of 304L and 316L stainless *** this regard,the dependency of the total elongation on the de-formation temperature was less pronounced for the 904L alloy due to the absence of additional plasticity *** results re-vealed the importance of solid-solution strengthening and the associated high friction stress for superior mechanical behavior over a wide temperature range.

Superplastic behavior of a fine-grained Mg-Gd-Y-Ag alloy processed by equal channel angular pressing

An extruded Mg-6Gd-3Y-1.5Ag(wt%) alloy was processed by 6 passes of equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) at 553 K using route Bc to refine the microstructure. Electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD) analysis showed a fully recrystallized microstructure for the extruded alloy with a mean grain size of 8.6 μm. The microstructure of the ECAP-processed alloy was uniformly refined through dynamic recrystallization(DRX). This microstructure contained fine grains with an average size of 1.3 μm, a high fraction of high angle grain boundaries(HAGBs), and nano-sized Mg_(5)Gd-type particles at the boundaries of the DRXed grains, detected by transmission electron microscopy(TEM). High-temperature shear punch testing(SPT) was used to evaluate the superplastic behavior of both the extruded and ECAP-processed alloys by measuring the strain rate sensitivity(SRS) index(m-value). While the highest m-value for the extruded alloy was measured to be 0.24 at 673 K, the ECAP-processed alloy exhibited much higher m-values of 0.41 and 0.52 at 598 and 623 K, respectively,delineating the occurrence of superplastic flow. Based on the calculated average activation energy of 118 kJ mol^(-1) and m-values close to 0.5, the deformation mechanism for superplastic flow at the temperatures of 598 and 623 K for the ECAP-processed alloys was recognized to be grain boundary sliding(GBS) assisted by grain boundary diffusion.

Simple shear extrusion versus equal channel angular pressing:A comparative study on the microstructure and mechanical properties of an Mg alloy

Two severe plastic deformation(SPD)techniques of simple shear extrusion(SSE)and equal channel angular pressing(ECAP)were employed to process an extruded Mg-6Gd-3Y-1.5Ag(wt%)alloy at 553 K for 1,2,4 and 6 *** microstructural evolutions were studied by electron back scattered diffraction(EBSD)analysis and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The initial grain size of 7.5μm in the extruded alloy was reduced to about 1.3μm after 6 SPD *** dynamic recrystallization was suggested to be operative in both SSE and ECAP,with also a potential contribution of continuous dynamic recrystallization at the early stages of *** difference in the shear strain paths of the two SPD techniques caused different progression rate of dynamic recrystallization(DRX),so that the alloys processed by ECAP exhibited higher fractions of recrystallization and high angle grain boundaries(HAGBs).It was revealed that crystallographic texture was also significantly influenced by the difference in the strain paths of the two SPD methods,where dissimilar basal plane texture components were *** compression tests,performed along extrusion direction(ED),indicated that the compressive yield stress(CYS)and ultimate compressive strength(UCS)of the alloys after both SEE and ECAP augmented continuously by increasing the number of ***-processed alloys had lower values of CYS and UCS compared to their counterparts processed by *** difference in the mechanical responses was attributed to the different configurations of basal planes with respect to the loading direction(ED)of each SPD technique.

Geochemistry,Petrogenesis and Alteration of Rare-Metal-Bearing Granitoids and Mineralized Silexite of the Al-Ghurayyah Stock,Arabian Shield,Saudi Arabia

New data are presented for the rare-metal bearing A-type granitoids of the AlGhurayyah stock in the northwestern segment of the Arabian Shield, a composite pluton intruding metamorphosed volcano-sedimentary successions of the Silasia Formation. Metals in the granitoids are variably enriched, with up to 1 990 μg/g Zn, 7 680 μg/g Zr, 2 316 μg/g Nb, 232 μg/g Ta, 485 μg/g Hf, 670 μg/g Th, 137 μg/g U and 1 647 μg/g total rare earth elements(REE). The silexite is highly mineralized and yields higher maximum concentrations of several metals than the granitoids, including up to 1 860 μg/g Y, 9 400 μg/g Zr, 878 μg/g Hf, 1 000 μg/g Th, and 2 029 μg/g total REE. The Al-Ghurayyah stock has been assigned to an intraplate setting. Lithospheric delamination led to generation of mantle melts that supplied heat to melt the juvenile crust of the ANS. The fluorine and rare-metal enriched parental magma evolved by fractional crystallization. The quartz-rich silexite, distinct in character from ordinary hydrothermal vein quartz, is inferred to be co-genetic with the granitoids on the basis of their similar REE patterns;it is interpreted as a small volume of residual magma enriched in SiO2, volatiles, and trace metals. Mineralization took place both at the magmatic stage and later during a hydrothermal stage that concentrated these elements to economic grades.

LONG-TIME DYNAMICS OF THE STRONGLY DAMPED SEMILINEAR PLATE EQUATION IN R^N

We investigate the initial-value problem for the semilinear plate equation containing localized strong damping, localized weak damping and nonlocal nonlinearity. We prove that if nonnegative damping coefficients are strictly positive almost everywhere in the exterior of some ball and the sum of these coefficients is positive a.e. in R^n, then the semigroup generated by the considered problem possesses a global attractor in H^2（R^n） × L^2（R^n）.We also establish the boundedness of this attractor in H^3（R^n） × H^2（R^n）.

Deep learning with convolutional neural networks for identification of liver masses and hepatocellular carcinoma: A systematic review

BACKGROUND Artificial intelligence,such as convolutional neural networks(CNNs),has been used in the interpretation of images and the diagnosis of hepatocellular cancer(HCC)and liver ***,a machine-learning algorithm similar to deep learning,has demonstrated its capability to recognise specific features that can detect pathological *** To assess the use of CNNs in examining HCC and liver masses images in the diagnosis of cancer and evaluating the accuracy level of CNNs and their *** The databases PubMed,EMBASE,and the Web of Science and research books were systematically searched using related *** analysing pathological anatomy,cellular,and radiological images on HCC or liver masses using CNNs were identified according to the study protocol to detect cancer,differentiating cancer from other lesions,or staging the *** data were extracted as per a predefined *** accuracy level and performance of the CNNs in detecting cancer or early stages of cancer were *** primary outcomes of the study were analysing the type of cancer or liver mass and identifying the type of images that showed optimum accuracy in cancer *** A total of 11 studies that met the selection criteria and were consistent with the aims of the study were *** studies demonstrated the ability to differentiate liver masses or differentiate HCC from other lesions(n=6),HCC from cirrhosis or development of new tumours(n=3),and HCC nuclei grading or segmentation(n=2).The CNNs showed satisfactory levels of *** studies aimed at detecting lesions(n=4),classification(n=5),and segmentation(n=2).Several methods were used to assess the accuracy of CNN models *** The role of CNNs in analysing images and as tools in early detection of HCC or liver masses has been demonstrated in these *** a few limitations have been identified in these studies,overall there was an optimal level of accuracy of the CNN
