Inhibition of spoilage mold of common contaminant of bakery goods in modal agar system by potassium sorbate and calcium propionate in wide range of concentration (0 - 2000 ppm) at different pH (5.5 - 7) was investigated. All Samples were examined daily for mold growth. Results showed that both potassium sorbate and calcium propionate can be used effectively to inhibit mold growth and the effectiveness of these preservatives is enhanced by increasing the concentration and decreasing the pH. The effect of modified atmosphere packaging (mAP) comprised of 60% or 80% CO2 (balance N2) and oxygen absorbents on the growth of mold was also studied on the agar system. The results indicated that mold growth was prevented up to 42 days in packs flushed with 60% or 80% CO2 (balance N2). It was also evident that all samples did not show mold growth for >40 days when packaged in the presence of oxygen scavenger sachet.

With the innovation of microelectronics technology, the heat dissipation problem inside the device will face a severe test. In this work, cellulose aerogel(CA) with highly enhanced thermal conductivity(TC) in vertical planes was successfully obtained by constructing a vertically aligned silicon carbide nanowires(SiC NWs)/boron nitride(BN) network via the ice template-assisted strategy. The unique network structure of SiC NWs connected to BN ensures that the TC of the composite in the vertical direction reaches 2.21 W m^(-1) K^(-1) at a low hybrid filler loading of 16.69 wt%, which was increased by 890% compared to pure epoxy(EP). In addition, relying on unique porous network structure of CA, EP-based composite also showed higher TC than other comparative samples in the horizontal direction. meanwhile, the composite exhibits good electrically insulating with a volume electrical resistivity about 2.35 × 10^(11) Ω cm and displays excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance with a minimum reflection loss of-21.5 dB and a wide effective absorption bandwidth(m 8.8 to 11.6 GHz. Therefore, this work provides a new strategy for manufacturing polymer-based composites with excellent multifunctional performances in microelectronic packaging applications.

In this paper, some properties of the positive definite solutions for the nonlinear system of matrix equations X + A*Y-nA = I, Y + B*X-mB = I are derived. As a matter of fact, an effective iterative method to obtain the positive definite solutions of the system is established. These solutions are based on the convergence of monotone sequences of positive definite matrices. moreover, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the positive definite solutions are obtained. Finally, some numerical results are given.

Background: Gemcitabine was established as a monotherapy or in combination for locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic carcinoma. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the low-dose gemcitabine over 6-hour infusion in patients with advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Methods: 26 patients with locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic carcinoma were recruited into the study from December 2013 to October 2014. Patients received the treatment in Clinical Oncology Department, Sohag University, and Medical Oncology Department, Assiut University. Patients received low-dose gemcitabine (250 mg/m2) over 6-hour infusion, weekly for seven weeks and then on days 1 and 8 every 3 weeks till unacceptable toxicity or progression of the disease. Results: Twenty-six patients were enrolled in this study. After starting 7 weeks of treatment, the disease control rate was 38.5% in the form of complete response in 3.8% of patients, partial response in 26.9%, and stationary response in 7.7%. The conformity of Saudi dates cultivars to date standards has not been studied extensively. In this study, microbial loads and physicochemical characteristics of four Saudi date cultivars (Sukkary, Khalas, Sugai and Anbara) were determined. Anbara cultivar had significantly higher mould and yeast counts than recommended under Saudi technical regulation and standards for packaged whole dates. moisture content and insect damage for all studied cultivars fell within Codex standards. Single fruit weight for pitted and unpitted dates was higher than recommended under international standards. Date cultivar had a significant effect on fruit color thus fruit color should be included in Saudi technical regulation and standards for date grading.

The objective of this study is to enhance the properties of plastic products using plastic wastes reinforced with treated natural fibers such as rice straw as well as carbonized rice straw, using a simple and efficient technology.

Low sanitation coverage is a significant problem in Egypt, especially in rural areas. The Rapid Sustainability Screening (RSS) model was developed to assess the sustainability of wastewater treatment systems (WWTS), both planned and existing, and support decision-makers in selecting alternatives. The model considers the three fundamental sustainability dimensions, namely, environmental, social, and economic. In the present paper, the model was successfully tested by evaluating the sustainability performance of three operating rural WWTS in Egypt (Constructed Wetland (CW)-BeniSuef, Constructed Wetland (CW)-Dakahlia, and Activated Sludge (AS)-Gharbia). CW-BeniSuef was the most sustainable system based upon environmental and social considerations with values of 2.50 and 2.71, respectively. On the other hand, CW-Dakahlia is the most economically sustainable system, with a value of 2.25. The highest sustainability overall ranking system was CW-BeniSuef with overall sustainability of 2.81, followed by CW-Dakahlia with a value of 2.18, and the least sustainable technology is AS-Gharbia (1.72). The RSS model can support the decision-makers and operators during the different phases of a wastewater treatment project development (e.g., feasibility, operation). The model has been developed in a user-friendly and straightforward manner. The simplicity of the model may encourage the decision-makers and EIA practitioners to expand the assessment to consider sustainability rather than focusing on one or two aspects only (m>i.e.m>, environment and society) in isolation of the possible interaction between them.

Recently,deep learning(DL)became one of the essential tools in bioinformatics.A modified convolutional neural network(CNN)is employed in this paper for building an integratedmodel for deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)*** any CNN model,convolutional layers are used to extract features followed by max-pooling layers to reduce the dimensionality of features.A novel method based on downsampling and CNNs is introduced for feature *** downsampling is an improved form of the existing pooling layer to obtain better classification *** two-dimensional discrete transform(2D DT)and two-dimensional random projection(2D RP)methods are applied for *** convert the high-dimensional data to low-dimensional data and transform the data to the most significant feature ***,there are parameters which directly affect how a CNN model is *** this paper,some issues concerned with the training of CNNs have been *** CNNs are examined by changing some hyperparameters such as the learning rate,size of minibatch,and the number of *** and assessment of the performance of CNNs are carried out on 16S rRNA bacterial *** results indicate that the utilization of a CNN based on wavelet subsampling yields the best trade-off between processing time and accuracy with a learning rate equal to 0.0001,a size of minibatch equal to 64,and a number of epochs equal to 20.
