Recently,deep learning(DL)became one of the essential tools in bioinformatics.A modified convolutional neural network(CNN)is employed in this paper for building an integratedmodel for deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)*** any CNN model,convolutional layers are used to extract features followed by max-pooling layers to reduce the dimensionality of features.A novel method based on downsampling and CNNs is introduced for feature *** downsampling is an improved form of the existing pooling layer to obtain better classification *** two-dimensional discrete transform(2D DT)and two-dimensional random projection(2D RP)methods are applied for *** convert the high-dimensional data to low-dimensional data and transform the data to the most significant feature ***,there are parameters which directly affect how a CNN model is *** this paper,some issues concerned with the training of CNNs have been *** CNNs are examined by changing some hyperparameters such as the learning rate,size of minibatch,and the number of *** and assessment of the performance of CNNs are carried out on 16s rRNA bacterial *** results indicate that the utilization of a CNN based on wavelet subsampling yields the best trade-off between processing time and accuracy with a learning rate equal to 0.0001,a size of minibatch equal to 64,and a number of epochs equal to 20.

Numerical investigation of Reynolds number and scaling effects in microchannels flows

Compared with conventional channels, experiments of microchannel often exhibit some controversial findings and sometimes even opposite trends, most notably the effects of the Reynolds number and the scaled channel height on the Poiseuille number. The experimental method has still been constrained by two key facts, firstly the current ability to machine microstructures and secondly the limitation of measurement of parameters related to the Poiseuille number. As a consequence, numerical method was adopted in this study in order to analyze a flow in two-dimensional rectangular microchannels using water as working fluid. Results are obtained by the solution of the steady laminar incompressible Navier-stokes equations using control volume finite element method（CVFeM） without pressure correction. The computation was made for channel height ranging from 50 ？m to 4.58 ？m and Reynolds number varying from 0.4 to 1 600. The effect of Reynolds number and channel heights on flow characteristics was investigated. The results showed that the Poiseuille numbers agree fairly well with the experimental measurements proving that there is no scale effect at small channel height. This scaling effect has been confirmed by two additional simulations being carried out at channel heights of 2.5 ？m and 0.5 ？m, respectively and the range of Reynolds number was extended from 0.01 up to 1 600. This study confirm that the conventional analysis approach can be employed with confidence for predicting flow behavior in microchannels when coupled with carefully matched entrance and boundary conditions in the dimensional range considered here.

BACKGROUND Delayed sternal closure(DsC)can be a lifesaving approach for certain patients who have undergone cardiac *** value of the type of prophylactic antibiotics in DsC is still *** To investigate clinical outcomes of different prophylactic antibiotic regimens in patients who had DsC after cardiac *** This was a retrospective observational single-center ***-three consecutive patients who underwent cardiac surgery and had an indication for DsC were *** were subjected to two regimens of antibiotics:Narrow-spectrum and broad-spectrum *** The main outcome measures were length of hospital and intensive care unit(ICU)stay,duration of mechanical ventilation,and *** the 53 patients,12(22.6%)received narrow-spectrum antibiotics,and 41(77.4%)received broad-spectrum *** mean age was 59.0±12.1 years,without significant differences between the *** mean duration of antibiotic use was significantly longer in the broad-spectrum than the narrowspectrum group(11.9±8.7 vs 3.4±2.0 d,Pe median duration of open chest was 3.0(2.0-5.0)d for all patients,with no difference between groups(P=0.146).The median duration of mechanical ventilation was significantly longer in the broad-spectrum group[60.0(Δinterquartile range(IQR)170.0)h vs 50.0(ΔIQR 113.0)h,P=0.047].similarly,the median length of stay for both ICU and hospital were significantly longer in the broadspectrum group[7.5(ΔIQR 10.0)d vs 5.0(ΔIQR 5.0)d,P=0.008]and[27.0(ΔIQR 30.0)d vs 19.0(ΔIQR 21.0)d,P=0.031].Five(9.8%)patients were readmitted to the ICU and 18(34.6%)patients died without a difference between *** Prophylactic broad-spectrum antibiotics did not improve clinical outcomes in patients with DsC post-cardiac surgery but was associated with longer ventilation duration,length of ICU and hospital stays vs narrow-spectrum antibiotics.

For fuzzy systems to be implemented effectively,the fuzzy membership function(MF)is essential.A fuzzy system(Fs)that implements precise input and output MFs is presented to enhance the performance and accuracy of single-input single-output(sIsO)Fss and introduce the most applicable input and output MFs protocol to linearize the fuzzy system’s *** a variety of non-linear techniques,a sIsO Fs is *** results of Fs experiments conducted in comparable conditions are then *** simulated results and the results of the experimental setup agree fairly *** findings of the suggested model demonstrate that the relative error is abated to a sufficient range(≤±10%)and that the mean absolute percentage error(MPAe)is reduced by around 66.2%.The proposed strategy to reduceMAPe using an Fs improves the system’s performance and control *** using the best input and output MFs protocol,the energy and financial efficiency of every sIsO Fs can be improved with very little tuning of *** proposed fuzzy system performed far better than other modern days approaches available in the literature.

Mosquitoes are of great concern for occasionally carrying noxious diseases(dengue,malaria,zika,and yellow fever).To control mosquitoes,it is very crucial to effectively monitor their behavioral trends and *** mosquito repellent works by heating small pads soaked in repellant,which then diffuses a protected area around you,a great alternative to spraying yourself with *** they have limitations,including the range,turning them on manually,and then waiting for the protection to kick in when the mosquitoes may find *** research aims to design a fuzzy-based controller to solve the above issues by automatically determining a mosquito repellent’s speed and active *** speed and active time depend on the repellent cartridge and the number of *** Mamdani model is used in the proposed fuzzy system(Fs).The Fs consists of identifying unambiguous inputs,a fuzzification process,rule evaluation,and a defuzzification process to produce unambiguous *** input variables used are the repellent cartridge and the number of mosquitoes,and the speed of mosquito repellent is used as the output *** whole Fs is designed and simulated using MATLAB simulink *** proposed Fs is executed and verified utilizing a microcontroller using its pulse width modulation *** simulations of the proposed model are performed in many nonlinear ***,a comparative analysis of the outcomes under similar conditions confirms the higher accuracy of the Fs,yie.ding a maximum relative error of 10%.The experimental outcomes show that the root mean square error is reduced by 67.68%,and the mean absolute percentage error is reduced by 52.46%.Using a fuzzy-based mosquito repellent can help maintain the speed of mosquito repellent and control the energy used by the mosquito repellent.

Assessing the suitability of Various Physiological Traits to screen Wheat Genotypes for salt Tolerance

success of improving the salt tolerance of genotypes requires effective and reliable screening traits in bre.ding programs. The objective was to assess the suitability of various physiological traits to screen wheat genotypes for salt tolerance. Thirteen wheat genotypes from egypt, Germany, Australia and India were grown in soil with two salinity levels （control and 150 mmol/L NaCI） in a greenhouse. The physiological traits （ion contents in leaves and stems, i.e. Na^＋, Cl^-, K^＋, Ca^2＋）, the ratios of K^＋/Na^＋ and Ca^＋/Na^＋ in the leaves and stems, net photosynthesis rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, chlorophyll content （sPAD value）, and leaf water relations, were measured at different growth stages. The physiological traits except for Na^＋ and Cl^- in stems and the leaf transpiration rate at 150 mmol/L NaCI showed a significant genotypic variation, indicating that the traits that have a significant genotypic variation may be possibly used as screening criteria. According to the analysis of linear regression of the scores of the physiological traits against those of grain yield, however, the physiological traits of Ca^2＋ and Ca2^＋/Na^＋ at 45 d and final harvest with the greatest genotypic variation were ranked at the top. From a practical and economic point of view, sPAD value should be considered to be used as screening criteria and/or there is a need to develop a quick and practical approach to determine Ca^2＋ in plant tissues.
