Does the Animal Origin Influence the Calcification of Xenograft Tissue Heart Valve Substitutes? Comparison between Bovine and Camel Pericardium in a Subcutaneous Rat Model

Objective: To validate the hypothesis that camel pericardium could be more protected than bovine pericardium against calcification process according to the huge difference in their respective lifestyle and lifetime. Methods: Glutaraldehyde (GA) fixed bovine and camel pericardium samples (BP and CP respectively) were both implanted in 30 New Zealand white rats (2 BP and 2 CP matched specimens in each animal) and explanted after 60 days. Unimplanted GA-fixed samples of both species served as control. Matched implanted samples and unimplanted samples were randomly submitted to elemental analysis by spectroscopy, phospholipid extraction, macroscopic and X-ray examination and histology. Results: At 60 days, calcium and phosphorus content were respectively 9.54% ± 3.1% and 4.79% ± 1.4% of tissue dry weight in BP, and 12.52% ± 2.7% and 6.14% ± 1.3% of tissue dry weight in CP (ns). In X-ray analysis, the calcification score was 1.28 ± 0.45 and 2.14 ± 0.98 in BP and CP samples respectively without significant difference (p alcifications were lower in BP than in CP: 1.37 ± 0.85 vs 2.28 ± 0.83 (ns);collagen fibers were better conserved in BP than in CP: 2.4 ± 0.48 vs 1.87 ± 0.78 (ns), and less disoriented: 25% vs 62% (ns). In unimplanted samples, there was a higher but not significant rate of extracted lipids in CP: 5.7 ± 1.8 vs 9.5 ± 3.8 nanomoles in PS fraction and 11.3 ± 3.7 vs 19 ± 7.7 nanomoles in total fatty acids, in BP and CP samples respectively. all results were in conjunction and demonstrated a higher but not significant rate of mineralization in camel pericardium after implantation, which could be related to a higher but not significant basic rate of phospholipid and fatty acids. Conclusion: This experiment study in a subcutaneous rat model has failed to valid our hypothesis. Optimised CNN Architectures for Handwritten Arabic Character Recognition

Handwritten character recognition is considered challenging compared with machine-printed characters due to the different human writing *** is morphologically rich,and its characters have a high *** Arabic language includes 28 *** character has up to four shapes according to its location in the word(at the beginning,middle,end,and isolated).This paper proposed 12 CNN architectures for recognizing handwritten Arabic *** proposed architectures were derived from the popular CNN architectures,such as VGG,ResNet,and Inception,to make them applicable to recognizing character-size *** experimental results on three well-known datasets showed that the proposed architectures significantly enhanced the recognition rate compared to the baseline *** experiments showed that data augmentation improved the models’accuracies on all tested *** proposed model outperformed most of the existing *** best achieved results were 93.05%,98.30%,and 96.88%on the HIJJA,AHCD,and AIA9K datasets.

Forecasting river flow is crucial for optimal planning,management,and sustainability using freshwater *** machine learning(ML)approaches have been enhanced to improve streamflow *** techniques have been viewed as a viable method for enhancing the accuracy of univariate streamflow estimation when compared to standalone *** researchers have also emphasised using hybrid models to improve forecast ***,this paper conducts an updated literature review of applications of hybrid models in estimating streamflow over the last five years,summarising data preprocessing,univariate machine learning modelling strategy,advantages and disadvantages of standalone ML techniques,hybrid models,and performance *** study focuses on two types of hybrid models:parameter optimisation-based hybrid models(OBH)and hybridisation of parameter optimisation-based and preprocessing-based hybridmodels(HOPH).Overall,this research supports the idea thatmeta-heuristic approaches precisely improveML ***’s also one of the first efforts to comprehensively examine the efficiency of various meta-heuristic approaches(classified into four primary classes)hybridised with ML *** study revealed that previous research applied swarm,evolutionary,physics,and hybrid metaheuristics with 77%,61%,12%,and 12%,***,there is still room for improving OBH and HOPH models by examining different data pre-processing techniques and metaheuristic algorithms.

随着全球能源危机和环境污染日益加剧,开发可持续的绿色能源技术已经成为当务之急.其中,水分解制氢作为一种清洁能源的生产方式,因其零排放和高能量密度的特点,而受到广泛的研究和关注.析氢反应(HER)和析氧反应(OER)是水分解过程的关键步骤,它们的反应效率直接影响整个制氢过程的能量转换效率.因此,开发高效的双功能电催化剂对于推动水分解技术的发展具有重要意义.本文制备了一种超低Ru掺杂的新型核壳纳米结构电催化剂,该催化剂生长在泡沫镍(NF)上,简称Ru-NiMoO_(4)@Ni_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)/NF.首先,通过水热法在NF上均匀生长了水合NiMoO_(4)纳米柱,并通过共价相互作用,确保其在垂直方向上有序排列.随后,采用超低浓度的RuCl_(3)对NiMoO_(4)纳米柱进行蚀刻,并通过磷酸化反应引入(PO_(4))^(3+)离子形成了Ni_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)壳层.这种设计克服了以往Ru易团聚的难题,保障了Ru的均匀分布,从而合成Ru-NiMoO_(4)@Ni_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)/NF催化剂.通过X-射线衍射、X-射线光电子能谱及透射电子显微镜等对催化剂的化学组分和微观结构进行了分析,证实其成功制备.元素分析结果表明,催化剂中Ru的含量仅为1.94 wt%,显著降低了其制备成本.电化学测试结果表明,该催化剂在HER和OER中均表现出较好的催化活性.在10和100 mA cm^(−2)电流密度下,HER的过电位分别为−14.8和−57.1 mV,Tafel斜率为35.8 mV dec^(-1),优于商业Pt/C催化剂;在100 mA cm^(−2)电流密度下,OER过电位为259.7 mV,Tafel斜率为21.6 mV dec^(−1),优于商业RuO_(2)催化剂.在全水解测试中,该催化剂在10和100 mA cm^(−2)时所需的电池电压分别为1.43和1.68 V,与其他自支撑材料相比表现出良好的性能.此外,该催化剂在150 h性能测试过程中表现出较好的稳定性.采用密度泛函理论计算研究了催化剂具有较好活性的内在机制.结果表明,其具有低水离解能垒(ΔGb=0.46 eV),接近零的HER自由吸附能(∆G*H=0.02 eV),低的OER自由吸附能量(ΔG*OOH−ΔG*OH=2.74 eV)和接近费米能级的高密度态.这些特性共同促进了电解水反应的高效进行.综上,本文研究开发的Ru-NiMoO_(4)@Ni_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)/NF双功能催化剂具有较好的催化活性、低电位需求和长期稳定性,为氢气生产开辟了新途径,也为优化双功能水分解催化剂提供了新视角,并为未来可持续能源应用发展提供一定的参考.
