Stretchable and conformal humidity sensors that can be attached to the human body for continuously monitoring the humidity of the environment around the human body or the moisture level of the human skin can play an important role in electronic skin and personal healthcare applications. However, most stretchable humidity sensors are based on the geometric engineering of non-stretchable components and only a few detailed studies are available on stretchable humidity sensors under applied mechanical deformations. In this paper, we propose a transparent, stretchable humidity sensor with a simple fabrication process, having intrinsically stretchable components that provide high stretchability, sensitivity, and stability along with fast response and relaxation time. Composed of reduced graphene oxide-polyurethane composites and an elastomeric conductive electrode, this device exhibits impressive response and relaxation time as fast as 3.5 and 7 s, respectively. The responsivity and the response and relaxation time of the device in the presence of humidity remain almost unchanged under stretching up to a strain of 60% and after 10,000 stretching cycles at a 40% strain. Further, these stretchable humidity sensors can be easily and conformally attached to a finger for monitoring the humidity levels of the environment around the human body, wet objects, or human skin.

Diversity of coronaviruses in wild and domestic birds in Vietnam

Automated extraction of expressway road surface from mobile laser scanning data

A universal strategy for the creation of machine learning-based atomistic force fields

Emerging machine learning(ML)-based approaches provide powerful and novel tools to study a variety of physical and chemical *** this contribution,we outline a universal strategy to create ML-based atomistic force fields,which can be used to perform high-fidelity molecular dynamics *** scheme involves(1)preparing a big reference dataset of atomic environments and forces with sufficiently low noise,e.g.,using density functional theory or higher-level methods,(2)utilizing a generalizable class of structural fingerprints for representing atomic environments,(3)optimally selecting diverse and nonredundant training datasets from the reference data,and(4)proposing various learning approaches to predict atomic forces directly(and rapidly)from atomic *** the atomistic forces,accurate potential energies can then be obtained by appropriate integration along a reaction coordinate or along a molecular dynamics *** on this strategy,we have created model ML force fields for six elemental bulk solids,including Al,Cu,Ti,W,Si,and C,and show that all of them can reach chemical *** proposed procedure is general and universal,in that it can potentially be used to generate ML force fields for any material using the same unified workflow with little human ***,the force fields can be systematically improved by adding new training data progressively to represent atomic environments not encountered previously.

Investigation of Two Precipitation Methods for Extracting Immunoglobulin y(Igy)from Egg yolks

Introduction to the China-Vietnam Cooperation Project: A Comparative Study of the Holocene Sedimentary Evolution of the yangtze and Red River Deltas

Both China and Vietnam confront the challenges of natural geohazards and environmental changes in their deltas and coastal zones due to rapid urbanization, economic development, and the impacts of global climate change. China and Vietnam initiated a comparative study of the Holocene sedimentary evolution of the yangtze River Delta(yRD) and Red River Delta(RRD) for the period 2015–2018 in order to improve the understanding of the two delta evolution histories in the Holocene. Previous investigative data of the two rivers, onshore delta plains, and offshore subaqueous deltas have been explored and reinterpreted. New data gleaned from boreholes, piston cores, shallow seismic and hydrodynamic sources have been collected from the offshore yRD and the East China Sea inner shelf, and surface sediments and short cores have been collected from the RRD near-shore areas. Six focal areas of the joint project have been defined for comparative studies of the two deltas, including morphological development, sequential stratigraphy, coastline shifting, sedimentary characteristics, sedimentary dynamics, and correlation with anthropogenic global climate change. The results of these study areas are presented herein. The joint project also includes cooperative capacity building; exchanges of young scientists have been organized during the project period, and hands-on training in laboratory geochemical analysis, numerical modeling, and seismic data processing and interpretation have been provided by China and its Vietnamese geoscientist partners. Joint field excursions were organized to the upstream of the yangtze and Red Rivers in yunan Province, China, all the way downstream along the Vietnamese portion of the Red River. These joint studies have, over the past three years, improved understanding of the evolutionary history of these two major rivers and their mechanisms of source to sink. Laser forming involves heating sheet metal workpiece along a certain path with adefocused laser beam directed irradiate to the surface. During laser forming, a tran-sient temperature fields is caused by the irradiation and travelling of a laser beam.Consequently, thermal expansion and contraction take place, and allows the thermal-mechanical forming of complex shapes. This is a new manufacturing technique thatforming metal sheet only by thermal stress. Therefore, the analysis of temperaturefields and stress fields are very useful for studying the forming mechanism and con-trolling the accuracy of laser forming. The non--liner finite element solver, MARC, isemployed to solve the thermal--mechanical analysis. Using this model, the stress andstrain distribution of pure aluminum plate with different thickness are analyzed. Theinfluence of scanning speed on temperature fields and plastic strain of metal sheet un-der the condition of constant line energy are also presented. Numerical results agreewell with the experimental results.
