Prognosis Factors of Urinary Quality of Life in Parkinson Disease

Introduction: Quality of life in Parkinson disease is not necessary linked to motor symptoms. It’s correlated of overactive bladders and prostatic symptoms. Prognosis factors of urinary quality of life are unknown. Objectives: Our study aims to find prognosis factors of quality of life associated specifically of urinary disorders in PD. Patients and methods: We conducted a transversal, analytic and descriptive study in Physical Medicine, and Neurology departments, Fann Teaching Hospital, Dakar and included patients followed for treatment of PD. Urinary disorders, quality of life and functional autonomy were assessed respectively by Urinary Symptoms Profile (USP), Qualiven Short Form, Schwab and England Scale. Results: 38 patients presented PD, with a mean age of 60.89 ± 13.6 years and sex-ratio of 2.45. Mean duration of PD was 3.1 ± 2.9 years. Urinary disorders were found in 47.36% and dominated by incontinence (88.88%) and overactive bladders (88.88%) which were minor in more than 55%. Quality of life was impaired in 88.88% of cases. Minor forms (43.75%) were predominant and constraint dimension (50%) was the most severely altered. Prognosis factors for quality of life of urinary disorders were PD stages (0.046) and functional autonomy (0.042). Discussion and conclusion: Urinary disorders in PD are common, impaired quality of life, especially the constraint dimension, depends on stage of evolution of PD and functional autonomy of patients.

Comparison of computational fluid dynamics and fluid structure interaction models for the performance prediction of tidal current turbines

CFD models perform rigid body simulations and ignore the hydroelastic behavior of turbine *** reality,the tidal turbine blades deform due to the onset *** of the turbine blade alters the angle of attack and pressure difference across the low pressure and high pressure surface of the ***,the performance of a Tidal Current Turbine(TCT)is modelled in this study using Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD)and coupled Fluid Structure Interaction(FSI)simulations to compare the predictions of both *** of the performance parameters predicted from both the models are also compared with experimental *** difference between experimental value of C P and predicted value from the rigid blade CFD and FSI models is less than 10%.The FSI model accounted for the blade deformation and a maximum blade tip deflection of 0.12 mm is observed representing a case of small *** extent of deformation is not enough to alter the angle of attack and flow separation behavior at the *** variation in predicted pressure difference across the blade surfaces between the two models resulted in different C P *** similar wake predictions are obtained from both the models.

Optimizing Biodiesel Production from Karanja and Algae Oil with Nano Catalyst:RSMand ANN Approach

This study delves into biodiesel synthesis from non-edible oils and algae oil sources using Response Surface Methodology(RSM)and an Artificial Neural Network(ANN)model to optimize biodiesel *** of *** and Karanja oils is utilized,aiming to reduce free fatty acid content to 1%through single-step *** reveals peak biodiesel yield conditions:1%catalyst quantity,91.47 min reaction time,56.86℃reaction temperature,and 8.46:1 methanol to oil molar *** ANN model outperforms RSM in yield prediction *** impact assessment yields an E-factor of 0.0251 at maximum yield,indicating responsible production with minimal *** analysis reveals significant cost savings:30%-50%reduction in raw material costs by using non-edible oils,10%-15%increase in production efficiency,20%reduction in catalyst costs,and 15%-20%savings in energy *** optimized process reduces waste disposal costs by 10%-15%,enhancing overall economic ***,the widespread adoption of biodiesel offers economic,environmental,and social benefits to a diverse range of stakeholders,including farmers,producers,consumers,governments,environmental organizations,and the transportation *** among these stakeholders is essential for realizing the full potential of biodiesel as a sustainable energy solution.

Evaluation of Nasal and Temporal Anterior Chamber Angle with Four Different Techniques

Background: Anterior chamber angle (ACA) can be measured by many different techniques. In order for a technique to be a part of the routine eye examination, it has to be quick and easy in good agreement with gonioscopy both nasally and temporally. Aim: To investigate variation in ACA measurement between gonioscopy, van Herick technique, anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) and Sirius Scheimpflug-Camera both nasally and temporally. Method: The ACA of 50 eyes of 25 healthy subjects was measured with gonioscopy, van Herick technique, AS-OCT and Sirius Scheimpflug-Camera. The angle was measured both nasally and temporally. Results: No statistically significant difference could be found between gonioscopy, van Herick technique and AS-OCT either nasally or temporally. The Sirius Scheimpflug-Camera on the other hand showed statistically significant difference to gonioscopy (p < 0.0001) both nasally (p = 0.03, p = 0.001, p < 0.0001) and temporally (p = 0.0002, p = 0.001, p Conclusion: This study showed good agreement between three of the four techniques. ACA measurements obtained by the Sirius Scheimpflug-Camera should therefore not be considered interchangeable with those obtained by the remaining three methods.

Forced displacement poses a major global crisis that must be tackled at all levels:political,socio-economic,and *** paper describes the psychological impact of forced displacement on women and explains the significance of drama therapy intervention(DTI)in treating and empowering trauma impacted refugee *** used to treat immigrant and refugee adolescents and children in many host communities,DTI is seldom applied to women refugees who suffer from psychological disorders compounded by fleeing their home country and by difficulties faced in host *** makes our study the first on women refugees leaving a zone of war and residing in dire conditions in refugee *** best analyze the impact of DTI,this study(1)utilizes a qualitative approach to explain the effects of drama therapy intervention on Syrian and Palestinian-Syrian refugee women in Lebanon;(2)It applies a modified five-phase DTI program to fit the experiment setting and conducts post-DTI interviews;(3)It uses interpretative phenomenological analysis(IPA)method to identify emergent themes and to analyze the effectiveness of DTI;(4)Finally,the study concludes that drama therapy can both help refugee women deal with war-related/post-migration emotional trauma and can implement positive changes and help its participants form social bonds among each other.

The Effect of Mg2+Substitution with Li1+on Structural and Optical Properties of Zn0.5Li2xMg0.5-xFe2O4Nanoparticles

Nanoferrite materials had been synthesized to produce new alternate substance for reducing the rare or high cost of industrial materials. In this work, the Zn0.5Mg0.5-xLi2xFe2O4 nanoferrite (x = 0.00, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30 and 0.40) was prepared by co-precipitation approach. Structural and optical properties were investigated for the Zn0.5Mg0.5-xLi2xFe2O4 series by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopies. The XRD data showed that all samples of Zn0.5Mg0.5-xLi2xFe2O4 series possess a cubic spinel with a space group (Fd-3m) structure and crystallite size decreased from 116 to 96 nm with a doping ratio. Lattice parameter founded to increases with Li1+ ratio that result in the larger ionic radius of the Li1+ cation. FTIR result verified the formation of spinel structure by appearance of the absorption bands around 420, 580 cm-1. The energy band gap computed for Zn0.5Mg0.5-xLi2xFe2O4 samples and it founded in the range of 3.28 - 3.12eV.

Co-precipitation is an important issue in chemical analysis, where it is often undesirable, but in some cases, it can be exploited. The Zn0.5Mn0.5−xLi2xFe2O4 nanomaterials (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4) was afforded by utilizing co-precipitation method. The structural and optical characteristics were analyzed for the samples employing X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer (UV-Vis). XRD revealed that the structure of certain nanoparticles is a cubic spinel with space group (Fd-3m) and crystallite size in the scale 124 - 150 nm. Lattice parameter was determined to increments with Li+1 and that may occur due to the larger ionic radius of the Li1+ ion. FTIR spectroscopy confirmed the form of spinel ferrite and explicated the properties of absorption bands approximately 593, 1111, 1385, 1640, 2922 and 3430. The energy band gap was estimated for all samples with diverse ratios and was observed in the range of 2.58 - 2.52 eV.
