Landslides are the most frequent geoenvironmental natural hazards in hilly regions,owing to broken rock masses and slope *** year,landslides occur along the Karakorum highway in the northern section of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor,involving complex geological action and causing significant damages and *** mitigate landslide hazard risks and a better understanding of landslide occurrence in steep mountainous regions,a comprehensive and precise analysis of slow-moving landslides is *** address this challenge,a Multi-Temporal(MT),Interferometry Synthetic Aperture Radar(InSAR)approach using Small Baseline Subsets and Interferometric Point Target Analysis techniques was utilized to extract ground deformation rates.A total of 121 multitrack synthetic aperture radar images from Sentinel-1A were acquired from 2021 to 2023,enabling the detection and monitoring of ground displacement over *** active slope movements were successfully identified by calculating the differences in deformation,indicating a significant deformation rate within the trust fault lines and regional geological *** research findings reveal that the regional geological structure,including lithology and fault lines,significantly increase the deformation *** identified landslide hazard areas range from 1.47 km2 to 14.88 km2,with an annual average rate of line of sight surface displacement estimated between−4.13 to−16.07 cm/*** MT-InSAR analysis demonstrates that fault lines and geology play significant role in surface deformation,providing valuable insights into the deformation induced by regional tectonic activities.

Comparative investigation of the free radical scavenging potential and anticancer property of diospyros blancoi(Ebenaceae)

Objective: To investigate the comparative effects of diospyros blancoi(Ebenaceae)leaves(dBL), root bark(dBRB) and stem bark(dBSB) on free radicals and ***: The polyphenol contents, antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties were determined using standard spectrophotometric methods. Cytotoxicity and anticancer activities were performed on brine shrimp nauplii and Ehrlich ascite carcinoma cells, ***: Among the extracts, dBSB showed the highest total antioxidant capacity and reducing capacity on ferrous ion. Based on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities, dBSB showed(95.760 ± 0.343)% and(67.460 ± 2.641)%scavenging with IC50of(3.10 ± 0.17) and(50.00 ± 3.11) mg/m L, respectively. The IC50 values of standard butylated hydroxytoluene and catechin(CA) for 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radicals were(8.50 ± 0.25) and(75.00 ± 0.14) mg/m L,respectively suggesting that dBSB had a significant(P dical scavenging activity than standards. In lipid peroxidation inhibition assay, the inhibitory activity of the extracts and the standard was in the following order: dBSB > dBRB > CA > ***, the phenolic [(139.91 ± 3.924) mg gallic acid equivalent/g] and flavonoid contents[(412.00 ± 16.70) mg catechin equivalent/g)] of dBSB were higher than that of other extracts. In addition, the dBSB showed the moderate cytotoxic and anticancer ***: Our results indicate that diospyros blancoi stem bark had the significant highest antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties as well as moderate anticancer ***, we assume that the anticancer activity of this plant can be, at least in part, attributed to its content in phenolic compounds as well as its significant free radical scavenging properties.

Finite deformation analysis of crack tip fields in plastically compressible hardening–softening–hardening solids

Crack tip fields are calculated under plane strain small scale yielding conditions. The material is characterized by a finite strain elastic-viscoplastic constitutive relation with various hardening-softening-hardening hardness functions. Both plastically compressible and plastically incompressible solids are considered. displacements corresponding to the isotropic linear elastic mode I crack field are prescribed on a remote boundary. The initial crack is taken to be a semi-circular notch and symmetry about the crack plane is imposed. Plastic compressibility is found to give an increased crack opening displacement for a given value of the applied loading. The plastic zone size and shape are found to depend on the plastic compressibility, but not much on whether material softening occurs near the crack tip. On the other hand, the near crack tip stress and deformation fields depend sensitively on whether or not material softening occurs. The combination of plastic compressibility and softening (or softening-hardening) has a particularly strong effect on the near crack tip stress and deformation fields.

Hepatitis d virus (HdV) infection is present worldwide and affects all age groups. Around 18 million people are estimated to be infected with HdV. An important trend in HdV infection is global decline. HdV prevalence has decreased significantly in Europe since the 1970s and 1980s when it was f irst reported. The Asia-Pacif ic region now seems to be where HdV is a major health concern. There is a lack of available data from most of the countries from this region; hence, the true status of HdV cannot be determined. In South Asia, most of the countries have conditions that are favorable for the spread of hepatitis B and other related infections. Countries like Pakistan and Iran have shown an increase in HdV prevalence over a period of time. Other countries and region like China, Turkey, Australia, Japan, India and Taiwan, some of which had very high HdV prevalence in the past, have shown a decline in the incidence, but high prevalence persists in some. Intravenous drug abusers, homosexual men and women, prostitutes, and people on hemodialysis are the groups with very high HdV prevalence.

Effect of Composts,Lime and diammonium Phosphate on the Phytoavailability of Heavy Metals in a Copper Mine Tailing Soil

Soil samples from a historic copper mine tailing site at the Parys Mountain,North Wales(UK) were amended with green waste compost(GC),GC+30% sewage sludge(GCS),lime and diammonium phosphate(dAP),to determine the effect of amendments on dTPA-and Ca(NO3)2-extractable metals in the mine tailing and on the phytoavailability of heavy metals by a lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.).Both compost were added at the rate of 10% by weight,lime was added as calcium carbonate equivalent(pH = 7) and dAP at a 2300 mg kg-1 soil *** experiment was arranged in randomised complete design with three replicates in pots under control *** of lime resulted in the largest reduction in metal extractability with dTPA and Ca(NO3)2 and phytoavailability of Cu,Fe and Zn while dAP was effective in lowering Pb extractability and *** exception of Zn,all other metals extracted decreased with time after amendment *** distribution of heavy metals between and within the four procedures of potentially bioavailable sequential extraction(PBASE) varied significantly(P d between the metals extracted with PBASE SE1 and Cu,Pb(P d Fe(P dicate that addition of lime is sufficient to restore the vegetative cover to a high metal mine waste while dAP is good for stabilizing Pb,but its detrimental role on plant growth and the risk associated with presence of N in dAP(through N leaching) may restrict its chances for remediation of contaminated sites.
