Radiometric analysis of soil samples, collected from northern alluvial sediment plains between rivers Ravi and Chenab, has been carried out. Activity concentrations of^(226) Ra,^(232)Th,^(40) K and the artificial radionuclide^(137) Cs were estimated by using high-purity germanium detector. Subsequent values of activity concentrations were used to find terrestrial absorbed dose rate and annual effective doses received by resident of area. The mean radioactivity levels of^(226) Ra,^(232)Th,^(40) K and^(137)Cs were found to be 45.0 ± 1.3,59.6 ± 2.8, 613.8 ± 20.0 and 4.0 ± 0.2 Bq kg^(-1), respectively. Terrestrial absorbed dose rate and annual effective dose received by public were found to be 85.1 n Gy h^(-1)and0.5 m Sv, respectively. The activity concentrations of^(226) Ra,^(232)Th,^(40) K and^(137)Cs and resulting doses obtained for the current study were compared with data available in the literature and with international standards.

Objective:To characterize the bacterial pathogens in patients having gram negative septicaemia. Results:The most prevalent isolates Escherichia coli（***） 58.6%,Klebsiella Spp.32.9%and Pseudomonas 8.6%,were resistant to most of the antimicrobials including cefazolin,ceftriaxone, cefuroxime,ampicillin and co-trimoxazole but sensitive to imipenem and *** and MBL production was seen 7.3%and 12.2%of *** isolates *** isoaltes were found to have blaub>CTX-M-15ub> and two of them also showed blaub>TEM-1ub> type ***, none of them showed blaub>SHVub>.Conjugation experiments using J-53 cells confirmed these resistant markers as plasmid ***:This work highlights the molecular epidemiology of escalating antimicrobial resistance and likely switch over of blaub>CTX-M-15ub> type extended spectrum beta-lactamases by blaub>TEMub> type ESBLs in ***,the antimicrobial resistance by horizontal gene transfer was predominant among Enterobacteraceae in the community setting.

Physicochemical parameters of surface water sources in the study of local government areas (LGAs) were assessed using standard procedures. The mean physicochemical parameters for pH (5.49), NO2 (0.23 mg/L), SO4 (0.77 mg/L), Na (28.72 mg/L), Ca (28.94 mg/L), Mg (17.50 mg/L), Cl (11.65 mg/L), TSS (6.27 mg/L), TDS (104.23 mg/L), BOD (2.83 mg/L) and F (0.87 mg/L) were below WHO standards irrespective of their defecation status. The values for electrical conductivity (EC) (2770.50 µs/cm, turbidity (481.24 NTu), dissolved oxygen (DO) (5.32 mg/L), chemical oxygen demand (COD) (445.50 mg/L), K (125.06 mg/L), PO4 (0.78 mg/L) and Fe (0.57 mg/L) were above the WHO limits for safe water. Higher EC and COD values obtained in the study is evidence of pollution of the water sources by organic matter.

The wavelet approach is introduced to study the influence of the natural convection stagnation point flow of the Williamson fluid in the presence of thermophysical and Brownian motion effects. The thermal radiation effects are considered along a permeable stretching surface. The nonlinear problem is simulated numerically by using a novel algorithm based upon the Chebyshev wavelets. It is noticed that the velocity of the Williamson fluid increases for assisting flow cases while decreases for opposing flow cases when the unsteadiness and suction parameters increase, and the magnetic effect on the velocity increases for opposing flow cases while decreases for assisting flow cases. When the thermal radiation parameter, the Dufour number, and Williamson’s fluid parameter increase, the temperature increases for both assisting and opposing flow cases. Meanwhile, the temperature decreases when the Prandtl number increases. The concentration decreases when the Soret parameter increases, while increases when the Schmidt number increases. It is perceived that the assisting force decreases more than the opposing force. The findings endorse the credibility of the proposed algorithm, and could be extended to other nonlinear problems with complex nature.

The present article investigates the dual nature of the solution of the magneto- hydrodynamic （MHD） stagnation-point flow of a Prandtl fluid model towards a shrinking surface. The self-similar nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by the shooting： method. It is found that the dual solutions of the flow exist for cer- tain values of tile velocity ratio parameter. The special case of the first branch solutions （the classical Newtonian fluid model） is compared with the present numerical results of stretching flow. The results are found to be in good agreement. It is also shown that the boundary layer thickness for the second solution is thicker than that for the first solution.

Aims In recent years,coastal mangroves have been frequently affected by large disturbances(cyclones,hurricanes,flooding and tsunamis)and post-disturbance vegetation is often dominated by small stature mangrove,mangrove-associate and non-mangrove species potentially affecting ecosystem *** on the processes of mangrove vegetation development and recovery(succession)following normal and large disturbances will benefit practitioners in designing robust ecosystem management/restoration *** we propose a conceptual model of disturbance-mediated succession in *** Based on field observations and species’life history traits,we develop conceptual models of mangrove succession under normal disturbance regime and recently experienced increased frequency of large *** evaluate our conceptual models by conducting a scenario testing *** Findings We suggest two predominant processes affecting mangrove succession after disturbance:propagule limitation due to damage of seed producing mature trees and dispersal barrier resulting from biological invasion associated with large *** argue that large disturbances affect mature trees more than the small-stature non-tree(shrubs,herbs and climbers)species creating a larger propagule shortage for mangrove tree species than non-tree ***,large disturbances facilitate invasion of free-floating aquatics,which may interfere with the flow-facilitated propagule dispersal and seedling establishment of mangrove *** a scenario testing experiment,we have shown that similar levels of disturbance impact vegetation development and recovery differently depending on the presence or absence of invasive *** conclude that since biological invasion is one of the major drivers of post-disturbance mangrove succession,the dimension of biological invasion should be included in prediction,management and restoration of mangrove forests.

CT-NET: A Novel Convolutional Transformer-Based Network for Short-Term Solar Energy Forecasting using Climatic Information

Photovoltaic(PV)systems are environmentally friendly,generate green energy,and receive support from policies and ***,weather fluctuations make large-scale PV power integration and management challenging despite the economic *** PV forecasting techniques(sequential and convolutional neural networks(CNN))are sensitive to environmental conditions,reducing energy distribution system *** handle these issues,this article proposes an efficient,weather-resilient convolutional-transformer-based network(CT-NET)for accurate and efficient PV power *** network consists of three main ***,the acquired PV generation data are forwarded to the pre-processing module for data ***,to carry out data encoding,a CNNbased multi-head attention(MHA)module is developed in which a single MHA is used to decode the encoded *** encoder module is mainly composed of 1D convolutional and MHA layers,which extract local as well as contextual features,while the decoder part includes MHA and feedforward layers to generate the final ***,the performance of the proposed network is evaluated using standard error metrics,including the mean squared error(MSE),root mean squared error(RMSE),and mean absolute percentage error(MAPE).An ablation study and comparative analysis with several competitive state-of-the-art approaches revealed a lower error rate in terms of MSE(0.0471),RMSE(0.2167),and MAPE(0.6135)over publicly available benchmark *** addition,it is demonstrated that our proposed model is less complex,with the lowest number of parameters(0.0135 M),size(0.106 MB),and inference time(2 ms/step),suggesting that it is easy to integrate into the smart grid.
