The effect of Lentinula edodes water extract(LE)on two osteoblastic cell cultures(HOS 58 and Saos-2)was investigated to determine if this edible medicinal mushroom has osteoinductive *** of alkaline phosphatase and mineralization were used as indicators for the vitality and maturation of the bone *** of human osteosarcoma cells HOS 58 for five days in presence of a serial dilution of the aqueous extract of ***(0.8μg/mL-125μg/mL)resulted in a significant elevation of alkaline phosphatase activity(ALP)of the cells in comparison to untreated ***-2 cells,incubated with LE(20μg/mL)andb-glycerol phosphate(2 mM)for 21 days,displayed a 2 fold level of mineralization than cells cultured soley with the positive control,*** obtained results clearly indicate the activity of LE as a bone inducing agent in ***,the shiitake mushroom(***)deserves attention as a supportive dietary treatment or nutraceutical in the case of diseases accompanied with bone disorder,such as osteoporosis,osteopenia,and late complication of diabetes.

Robustness in most of the literature is associated with rain-max or min-max regret criteria. However, these criteria of robustness are conservative and therefore recently new criteria called, lexicographic a- robust method has been introduced in literature which defines the robust solution as a set of solutions whose quality orjth largest cost is not worse than the best possible jth largest cost in all scenarios. These criteria might be significant for robust optimization of single objective optimization problems. However, in real optimization problems, two or more than two conflicting objectives are desired to optimize concurrently and solution of multi objective optimization problems exists in the form of a set of solutions called Pareto solutions and from these solutions it might be difficult to decide which Pareto solution can satisfy rain-max, min-max regret or lexico- graphic a-robust criteria by considering multiple objectives simultaneously. Therefore, lexicographic a-robust method which is a recently introduced method in literature is extended in the current research for Pareto solutions. The proposed method called Pareto lexicographic a-robust approach can define Pareto lexicographic a-robust solu- tions from different scenarios by considering multiple objectives simultaneously. A simple example and an application of the proposed method on a simple problem of multi objective optimization of simple assembly line balancing problem with task time uncertainty is presented to get their robust solutions. The presented method can be significant to implement on different multi objective robust optimization problems containing uncertainty.

Hypersensitivity reactions （HSR） to oxaliplatin in patients with colorectal cancer include facial flushing, erythema, pruritis, fever, tachycardia, dyspnea, tongue swelling, rash/hives, headache, chills, weakness, vomiting, burning sensations, dizziness, and edema. We report a patient with fever as the sole manifestation of initial HSR, review the literature and discuss the management of HSR. A 57-year-old female with T3N2M0 rectal adenocarcinoma received modified FOLFOX-6. She tolerated the first 8 cycles without any toxicities except grade 1 peripheral neuropathy and nausea. During 9th and 10th infusions, she developed fever to a maximum of 38.3℃ with stable hemodynamic status despite medications. During 11th infusion, she developed grade 3 HSR consisting of symptomatic bronchospasm, hypotension, nausea, vomiting, cough, and fever. On examination, she was pale, cyanotic, with a temperature of 38.8℃, BP dropped to 95/43 mm Hg, pulse of 116/min and O2 saturation of 88%-91%. She was hospitalized for management and recovered in 24 h. Fever alone is not a usual symptom of oxaliplatin HSR. It may be indicative that the patient may develop serious reactions subsequently, as did our patient who developed hypotension with the third challenge. Treatment and prevention consists of slowing the infusion rate, use of steroids and antagonists of Type 1 and 2 histamine receptor antagonists, whereas desensitization could help to provide the small number of patients who experience severe HSR with the ability to further receive an effective therapy for their colorectal cancer.

There are wide applications of block-rate pricing schemes in many ***,there are no significant studies that apply this common tariff for smart home energy management *** this paper,a three-time-frame energy management scheme has been proposed for photovoltaic(PV)-powered grid-connected smart homes based on the well-known mixed-integer linear programming optimization *** paper provides three original and novel smart home energy management algorithms that depend on the most common residential tariff specifically in developing *** different management concepts have been studied for a typical Egyptian *** concepts of shifting load,vehicle-to-home and reducing air conditioning have been tested according to a commonly applied slab *** proposed scheme considers the home battery extending lifetime *** also preserves comfortable lifestyle limits for home users according to Arab housing climatic conditions and ***,the economic feasibility of integrated PV modules for the studied home has been verified according to the Egyptian *** proposed energy management scheme of PV-powered home reduces the electrical power bill significantly in a wide range from 61%to only 19%of the default case bill according to the applied management technique.

Multi-Pattern Matching Algorithm with Wildcards Based on Bit-Parallelism

Multi-pattern matching with wildcards is a problem of finding the occurrence of all patterns in a pattern set {p^1,… ,p^k} in a given text t. If the percentage of wildcards in pattern set is not high, this problem can be solved using finite automata. We introduce a multi-pattern matching algorithm with a fixed number of wildcards to overcome the high percentage of the occurrence of wildcards in patterns. In our proposed method, patterns are matched as bit patterns using a sliding window approach. The window is a bit window that slides along the given text, matching against stored bit patterns. Matching process is executed using bit wise operations. The experimental results demonstrate that the percentage of wildcard occurrence does not affect the proposed algorithm＇s performance and the proposed algorithm is more efficient than the algorithms based on the fast Fourier transform. The proposed algorithm is simple to implement and runs efficiently in O（n ＋ d（n/σ ）（m/w）） time, where n is text length, d is symbol distribution over k patterns, m is pattern length, and σ is alphabet size.

Background and aim:Advanced liver fibrosis is a major risk for developing hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in chronic hepatitis C virus(HCV)***-acting antivirals(DAAs)which are used for treating HCV infection,produce more than 90%cure rate but do not seem to diminish the rate of occurrence or recurrence of *** study aimed to investigate the effect of DAAs sofosbuvir(SOF)and daclatasvir(DAC)on carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)-induced fibrotic changes in ***:Eighty adult male Swiss albino mice were randomly allocated into 8 groups(10 mice/group):normal control group,SOF group(receiving SOF 80 mg/kg body weight(BW),oral gavage,daily),DAC group(receiving DAC 30 mg/kg BW,oral gavage,daily),SOF t DAC group(receiving a combination of both,daily),CCl4 model group(receiving CCl42 mL/kg BW,intraperitoneal twice weekly)and three CCl4-intoxicated groups receiving either SOF or DAC or their *** CCl4 groups received CCl4 for 12 weeks followed by DAAs for another 12 ***:CCl4-induced a significant elevation of alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST),and produced histopathological evidence of fibrosis and liver degeneration along with a significant increase(P0.001)of the proliferation markers(proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)and Ki-67),hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)activation markers(alpha-smooth muscle actin(a-SMA)and glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP)),fibrosis marker(matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9))and proinflammatory cytokine(tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-a)).CCl4-intoxicated mice treated with SOF,DAC,or their combination revealed a significant amelioration(P0.001)of CCl4-induced elevation of liver enzymes,fibrotic changes,and liver degeneration along with a significant attenuation(P0.001)of CCl4-induced upregulation of all tested *** effects of SOF,DAC,and their combination on liver enzymes were comparable while the effect of SOF t DAC combination on mitigating CCl4-induced upregulation of the

Role of salivary matrix metalloproteinase-8 （MMP-8） in chronic periodontitis diagnosis

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease of the periodontium. Any imbalance between the matrix metalloproteinases （MMPs） secreted by neutrophils and tissue inhibitors initiates the destruction of collagen in gum tissue, leading to chronic periodontitis. This study aimed to correlate salivary levels of MMP-8 and periodontal parameters of chronic periodontitis to establish MMP-8 as a noninvasive marker for the early diagnosis of chronic periodontitis. The study involved 40 subjects visiting the periodontic OPD of Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College and Hospital, located in Aligarh, U.P., India, from 2011 to 2012. The subjects were divided into two groups： group I consisted of 20 periodontally healthy subjects （controls） while group II consisted of 20 patients with chronic periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis was assessed on the basis of several periodontal parameters, including pocket probing depth （PPD）, clinical attachment level （CAL）, gingival index （GI）, and plaque index （PI）. Around 3 ml of unstimulated and whole expectorated saliva was collected for MMP-8 estimation by ELISA using Quantikine human total MMP-8 immunoassay kits. Data were analyzed using STATISTICA （Windows version 6） software. Salivary MMP-8 levels of groups I and II were 190.91 ± 143.89 ng/ml and 348.26± 202.1 ng/ml, respectively. The MMP-8 levels and periodontal status （PPD, CAL, GI, and PI） of groups I and II showed positive and significant correlations （for PPD, r = 0.63, P 〈 0.001; for CAL, r = 0.54, P 〈 0.001; for GI, r = 0.49, P 〈 0.001; and for PI, r = 0.63, P 〈 0.001）. The results of this study demonstrate elevated concentrations of MMP-8 in individuals with chronic periodontitis.

The Internet revolution has resulted in abundant data from various sources,including social media,traditional media,*** the availability of data is no longer an issue,data labelling for exploiting it in supervised machine learning is still an expensive process and involves tedious human *** overall purpose of this study is to propose a strategy to automatically label the unlabeled textual data with the support of active learning in combination with deep *** specifically,this study assesses the performance of different active learning strategies in automatic labelling of the textual dataset at sentence and document *** achieve this objective,different experiments have been performed on the publicly available *** first set of experiments,we randomly choose a subset of instances from training dataset and train a deep neural network to assess performance on test *** the second set of experiments,we replace the random selection with different active learning strategies to choose a subset of the training dataset to train the same model and reassess its performance on test *** experimental results suggest that different active learning strategies yield performance improvement of 7% on document level datasets and 3%on sentence level datasets for auto labelling.
