Role of salivary matrix metalloproteinase-8 （MMP-8） in chronic periodontitis diagnosis

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease of the periodontium. Any imb.lance b.tween the matrix metalloproteinases （MMPs） secreted b. neutrophils and tissue inhib.tors initiates the destruction of collagen in gum tissue, leading to chronic periodontitis. This study aimed to correlate salivary levels of MMP-8 and periodontal parameters of chronic periodontitis to estab.ish MMP-8 as a noninvasive marker for the early diagnosis of chronic periodontitis. The study involved 40 sub.ects visiting the periodontic OPd of dr. Ziauddin ahm.d dental College and Hospital, located in Aligarh, U.P., India, from 2011 to 2012. The sub.ects were divided into two groups： group I consisted of 20 periodontally healthy sub.ects （controls） while group II consisted of 20 patients with chronic periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis was assessed on the b.sis of several periodontal parameters, including pocket prob.ng depth （PPd）, clinical attachment level （CAL）, gingival index （GI）, and plaque index （PI）. Around 3 ml of unstimulated and whole expectorated saliva was collected for MMP-8 estimation b. ELISA using Quantikine human total MMP-8 immunoassay kits. data were analyzed using STATISTICA （Windows version 6） software. Salivary MMP-8 levels of groups I and II were 190.91 ± 143.89 ng/ml and 348.26± 202.1 ng/ml, respectively. The MMP-8 levels and periodontal status （PPd, CAL, GI, and PI） of groups I and II showed positive and significant correlations （for PPd, r = 0.63, P 〈 0.001; for CAL, r = 0.54, P 〈 0.001; for GI, r = 0.49, P 〈 0.001; and for PI, r = 0.63, P 〈 0.001）. The results of this study demonstrate elevated concentrations of MMP-8 in individuals with chronic periodontitis.

In this paper,we propose an innovative chaotic system,comb.ning fractional derivative and sinehyperb.lic nonlinearity with circuit *** study of this system is conducted via an analog circuit simulator,using two anti-parallel semiconductor diodes to provide hyperb.lic sine nonlinearity,and to function as operational *** multi-stab.lity of the system is also enhanced with the help of multi-equilib.ium points for distinct real orders of *** system explores the generation of a four-wing attractor in different phases,b.th numerically and *** changing the input parameters of the system,different graphs are generated for current flow in state,phase,and space,to confirm the precision of the fractional order derivatives.A reasonab.e simulation shows that the delib.rate circuit provides effective chaos in terms of speed and accuracy,which is comensurate with the numerical *** nonlinear chaotic b.havior is utilized to encrypt sound(.wav),images(.jpg),and animated(.gif)data which are a major requirement for the security of communication *** proposed circuit performs chaos and cryptographic tasks with high-effective analog computation,and constitutes a novel approach to this area of research.

The effect of Lentinula edodes water extract(LE)on two osteob.astic cell cultures(HOS 58 and Saos-2)was investigated to determine if this edib.e medicinal mushroom has osteoinductive *** of alkaline phosphatase and mineralization were used as indicators for the vitality and maturation of the b.ne *** of human osteosarcoma cells HOS 58 for five days in presence of a serial dilution of the aqueous extract of ***(0.8μg/mL-125μg/mL)resulted in a significant elevation of alkaline phosphatase activity(ALP)of the cells in comparison to untreated ***-2 cells,incub.ted with LE(20μg/mL)andb.glycerol phosphate(2 mM)for 21 days,displayed a 2 fold level of mineralization than cells cultured soley with the positive control,*** ob.ained results clearly indicate the activity of LE as a b.ne inducing agent in ***,the shiitake mushroom(***)deserves attention as a supportive dietary treatment or nutraceutical in the case of diseases accompanied with b.ne disorder,such as osteoporosis,osteopenia,and late complication of diab.tes.

Multi-Pattern Matching Algorithm with Wildcards b.sed on b.t-Parallelism

Multi-pattern matching with wildcards is a prob.em of finding the occurrence of all patterns in a pattern set {p^1,… ,p^k} in a given text t. If the percentage of wildcards in pattern set is not high, this prob.em can b. solved using finite automata. We introduce a multi-pattern matching algorithm with a fixed numb.r of wildcards to overcome the high percentage of the occurrence of wildcards in patterns. In our proposed method, patterns are matched as b.t patterns using a sliding window approach. The window is a b.t window that slides along the given text, matching against stored b.t patterns. Matching process is executed using b.t wise operations. The experimental results demonstrate that the percentage of wildcard occurrence does not affect the proposed algorithm＇s performance and the proposed algorithm is more efficient than the algorithms b.sed on the fast Fourier transform. The proposed algorithm is simple to implement and runs efficiently in O（n ＋ d（n/σ ）（m/w）） time, where n is text length, d is symb.l distrib.tion over k patterns, m is pattern length, and σ is alphab.t size.

The Android Operating System(AOS)has b.en evolving since its inception and it has b.come one of the most widely used operating system for the Internet of Things(IoT).due to the high popularity and reliab.lity ofAOS for IoT,it is a target of many cyb.r-attacks which can cause compromise of privacy,financial loss,data integrity,unauthorized access,denial of services and so *** Android-b.sed IoT(AIoT)devices are extremely vulnerab.e to various malwares due to the open nature and high acceptance of Android in the ***,several detection preventive malwares are developed to conceal their malicious activities from analysis ***,conventional malware detection techniques could not b. applied and innovative countermeasures against such anti-detection malwares are indispensab.e to secure the *** this paper,we proposed the novel deep learning-b.sed real-time multiclass malware detection techniques for the AIoT using dynamic *** results show that the proposed technique outperforms existing malware detection techniques and achieves detection accuracy up to 99.87%.

Ensuring the reliab.lity of pipe pile designs under earthquake loading necessitates an accurate determination of lateral displacement and b.nding moment,typically achieved through complex numerical modeling to address the intricacies of soil-pile *** recent advancements in machine learning techniques,there is a persistent need to estab.ish data-driven models that can predict these parameters without using numerical simulations due to the difficulties in conducting correct numerical simulations and the need for constitutive modelling parameters that are not readily *** research presents novel lateral displacement and b.nding moment predictive models for closed and open-ended pipe piles,employing a Genetic Programming(GP)*** a soil dataset extracted from existing literature,comprising 392 data points for b.th pile types emb.dded in cohesionless soil and sub.ected to earthquake loading,the study intentionally limited input parameters to three features to enhance model simplicity:Standard Penetration Test(SPT)corrected b.ow count(N60),Peak Ground Acceleration(PGA),and pile slenderness ratio(L/d).Model performance was assessed via coefficient of determination(R^(2)),Root Mean Squared Error(RMSE),and Mean Ab.olute Error(MAE),with R^(2) values ranging from 0.95 to 0.99 for the training set,and from 0.92 to 0.98 for the testing set,which indicate of high accuracy of ***,the study concludes with a sensitivity analysis,evaluating the influence of each input parameter across different pile types.

A major concern from the scientific community has b.en raised since evidence of b.sphenol A(b.-A)can leach out from the products where they are incorporated as well as its endocrine disrupting effects ob.erved in animals and ***-A and several related chemicals such as b.sphenol AP(b.-AP),b.sphenol b.b.eb.,b.sphenol S(b.eS),b.sphenol AF(b.-AF),b.sphenol(b.eP),b.sphenol Z(b.-Z)were analyzed in this ***-A and b.-S were the only b.sphenols detected in the samples analyzed in this *** median(range;mean)concentrations of b.-A found in this study was 321 ng/g(11-200932;4893 ng/g).The analysis was carried out b. sonicating 0.1 g of a cryo-milled sample aliquot in methanol followed b. Capecitab.ne treatment patterns in patients with gastroesophageal cancer in the United States

AIM： To assess the use of capecitab.ne-b.sed therapy and associated complication rates in patients with gastroesophageal cancer （GEC） in a real-world treat- ment setting. METHOdS： Patients with claims b.tween 2004 and 2005 were identified from the Thomson Reuters MarketScan datab.ses. Capecitab.ne regimens were compared with 5-fluorouracU （5-FU） and other chemotherapy regimens, and were stratified b. treatment setting. RESULTS： We identified 1013 patients with GEC： approximately half had treatment initiated with a 5-FU regimen, whereas 11% had therapy initiated with a capecitab.ne regimen. The mean capecitab.ne dose overall was 2382 ± 1118 mg/d, and capecitab.ne was used as monotherapy more often than in comb.nation. Overall, 5-FU regimens were the most common treat- ment option in neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings, while other non-capecitab.ne regimens were used more widely in first- and second-line settings. The overall unadjusted complication rate for capecitab.ne regimens was ab.ut half of that seen with 5-FU regimens. In multivariate analyses, capecitab.ne recipients had a 51% （95% CI： 26%-81%） lower risk of developing any complication than 5-FU recipients did. The risk of developing b.ne marrow, constitutional, gastrointestinal tract, infectious, or skin complications was lower with capecitab.ne therapy than with ***： Capecitab.ne appeared to have a favorab.e side effect profile compared with 5-FU, which indicates that it may b. a treatment option for GEC.

Variations of Cup-to-disc Ratio in Children

Purpose: The aim of this study is early detection of increased cup to disc ratio and a survey study of cup-disc ratio in Egyptian children age group less than 15 years. Methods: Three hundred and eighty-two (382) children were enrolled in this study. They were classified into three age groups;infants’ Group (1) from 0-2 years, preschool Group (2) from 2-6 years and school children Group (3) from 6-15 years old. C/d ratio was measured for each child. Results: In Group (1), normal C/d ratio ranged from 0 to 0.1. The C/d ratio > 0.3 or a b.nocular difference of >0.2 could b. regarded as one of the criteria of newb.rn glaucoma. Group (2): the normal ratio ranged from 0.1-0.2. Group (3): the normal ratio ranged from 0.2-0.3. The highest ratio 0.7 was found in two eyes. An asymmetry of 0.2 or more in the C/d ratios of the eyes was found in 4.8% of the children. Conclusion: C/d ratio > 0.3 and asymmetry of 0.2 is suggestive of glaucoma especially in infants of lower age group.

Initially,Traditional Travel Agencies(TTAs)played an intermediate role b.tween travel service suppliers and ***,in the tourism industry,the widespread proliferation of technology has provided travelers with different solutions to b.oking ***,it was questioned the need for the TTAs and their presence on the *** primary goal of this study is to find an extensive strategy for Yemen's TTAs in the online travel age to survive and maintain their *** strategy concentrates on targeting offline travelers b. determining the travel patterns and the characteristics of travelers who still rely on TTAs,in addition to determining the reasons that could drive travelers to online *** also aims to target online travelers b. finding the most important e-commerce functionalities of attraction to TTAs' ***,to clarify the role of using Social Media' applications SM'*** researcher used two ***,interviewed 14 Yemeni TTAs to find out their issues in the age of online travel and learned ab.ut how they applied e-commerce and SM' Apps in their *** surveyed 207 Yemeni travelers using a structured *** descriptive analysis was employed to identify the most frequent travelers' patterns for TTAs,whereas the correlation analysis was employed to determine the correlation b.tween the attracted Yemeni travelers to the web.ite and the adopted e-commerce *** study has found that among travelers over the age of 40,the median income,low level of education,retired,and self-employed travelers are the most utilizers of TTAs' ***,traveling during the season such as(Hajj&Umrah,Eid)and the group travels are the most common pattern in which travelers tend to use the TTAs' *** the other hand,the reasons b.hind going online are that finding travel information online is easy and has a range of options,and TTA requires more ***,it was discovered that the most significant b.
