In.roduction. Heart failure is a major cause of morbidity an. mortality in.children. The authors aimed to report the epidemiological an. etiological characteristics of heart failure (HF) in.children.in.Sen.gal. Patien.s an. Methods: This was a retrospective study con.ucted at the Children.s Hospital of Diamn.adio (CHD) from 01-01-2016 to 31-12-2017. Children.aged 0 to 15 years with heart failure con.irmed by echocardiography were in.luded. Results: Sixty-six children.were admitted for heart failure. The prevalen.e of HF was 5.3‰. The mean.age of the children.was 41.59 mon.hs ± 53.35 mon.hs (ran.e: 0 to 168 mon.hs). The 0 - 5 age group was the most represen.ed (n.= 48;72.72%). The HF con.ern.d 38 boys an. 28 girls, a sex ratio (M/F) of 1.36. The majority of our patien.s came from the semi-urban.area (42.4%). The etiology of HF was represen.ed in.order of frequen.y by con.en.tal heart disease, rheumatic heart disease an. cardiomyopathy with 59.09% of cases, 22.73% of cases an. 7.58% of cases respectively. It was un.n.wn.in.4.54% of the cases. At echocardiography, the left ven.ricular ejection.fraction.(LVEF) was impaired (less than.50%) in.19 patien.s, in.29.2% of cases with an.average of 64% +/- 15.16% (extremes: 24% an. 86%). An.mia was the comorbidity most common.y associated with their con.ition.(n.= 33%;50%). Con.lusion. Heart failure in.children.is un.ommon. The main.etiology is represen.ed by con.en.tal heart disease.

In.roduction. Data on.the complete vaccin.tion.of children.in.rural areas an. the factors associated with it are poorly kn.wn. Kn.wledge of these factors is n.cessary for the adoption.of effective vaccin.tion.strategies. The aim of our study was to determin. the proportion.of children.aged 12 to 23 mon.hs fully vaccin.ted before the age of 12 mon.hs in.the commun. of Thiomby an. to iden.ify associated factors. Methods: A descriptive an. an.lytical cross-section.l study was con.ucted from 15 Jan.ary to 15 February 2020 in.Thiomby amon. of children.aged 12 to 23 mon.hs an. their mothers/caregivers. The samplin. was carried out in.two-step clusters. Bivariate an.lysis was don. with Epi-In.o version.7.***.2.16. Results: The sample in.luded 380 mothers/caregivers with children.aged on.average 24.7 years. Amon. them, 93.2% were housewives, 29.4% had atten.ed school an. 12.8% had a mon.hly in.ome of more than.100,000 CFA fran.s. In.total, 296 children.were fully in.culated i.e. 77.9% of children.aged 12 - 23 mon.hs had received all the appropriate vaccin.s by the age of 12 mon.hs. In.addition. 42% of mothers an. babysitters had a good level of kn.wledge about vaccin.tion.(ben.fits, side effects, etc.). The primary source of in.ormation.for mothers about vaccin.tion.was the midwife, with 88 percen. of women.bein. in.ormed through this chan.el. The age of mothers less than.or equal to 30 years would sign.fican.ly reduce (p Con.lusion. Backgroun.: Traumatic Brain.In.ury (TBI) is a major health problem worldwide. It is the main.cause of trauma mortality. Acute subdural hematoma (ASDH) has a reputation.for bein. the most serious of all posttraumatic head in.uries. Its frequen.y is estimated to be 1% to 5% of all head in.uries an. 22% of severe head in.uries. The aim of this study was to assess the epidemiological, clin.cal an. progn.sis aspects of ASDH in.our departmen.. Material an. Methods: This prospective study, from Jan.ary to December 2019, in.luded 57 patien.s admitted to the Gabriel Touré Teachin. Hospital for ASDH. Patien.s un.erwen. detailed clin.cal an. radiological evaluation.an. ASDH was diagn.sed by n.n.con.rast computed tomography (CT) scan. Fun.tion.l outcome was evaluated 6 mon.hs after in.ury by Glasgow Outcome Scale. Results: Durin. the study period, 662 patien.s were admitted for TBI in.ludin. 57 (8.61%) cases of ASDH. The mean.age was 34 years with extremes of 2 an. 77 years. There was a male predomin.n.e with 52 (91.2%). The main.cause of trauma was motor vehicle acciden.s in.38 (66.6%) patien.s. Accordin. to the Glasgow coma scale (GCS), 33 (57.9%) patien.s were classified mild (Table 2). The thickn.ss of the hematoma was more than.1 cm in.13 (22.8%) patien.s an. less than.1 cm in.44 (77%) patien.s. Surgical treatmen. was performed in.13 (22.8%) patien.s. The outcome was favorable in.30 (52.6%) patien.s an. the mortality rate was 33.3%. Con.lusion. ASDH remain. a difficult challen.e because of the high mortality. The mortality rate remain. high particularly in.patien. with poor GCS score at admission.

The study of the deflection.due to the passage of an.axle on.a pavemen. structure has the advan.age to make possible to pron.un.e on.the portan.e, the rigidity an. the homogen.ity of this on.. In.the case where the allowed axle load is n.t respected, surface deflection.leads to premature deterioration.of the roadway. In.order to study the evolution.of these deformation., deflection.measuremen.s were made by usin. the Ben.elman.method in.the Fatick-Kaolack road in.Sen.gal by varyin. the axle load with the followin. values: 10, 13 an. 16 ton. on.three differen. zon.s. The results show a lin.ar evolution.of the deflection.as a fun.tion.of the axle load. Also, the impact of truck overloadin. was studied by con.iderin. differen. values of the axle load with comparison.to the allowed axle load by usin. frequen. types of vehicle. A n.merical simulation.of the Cast3M pavemen. was don. first, in.the case of an.isolated sin.le wheel with a radius of 12.5 cm, then.in.the case of an.equivalen. dual wheel with a radius of 18.1 cm for loads of 10 to 19 ton.. In.the same way, the pavemen. design.software (ALIZE) is used to an.lyse the variation.of the axle load. The results show a lin.ar evolution.of the deflection. which corroborates the measuremen.s made in.the field an. those obtain.d by Samb (2014) with a slope coefficien. equal to 1.7. n.vertheless, the case of an.isolated sin.le wheel of 12.5 cm radius is closest to the measuremen.s with a straight lin. of slope coefficien. equal to 1.9.

The aim of our study was to determin. epidemiological, clin.cal an. therapeutic profile of colorectal can.ers in.Mauritan.a. Patien.s an. Methods: It was a retrospective multicen.ric study con.ucted over 5 years in.n.uakchott n.tion.l Hospital Cen.re an. in.private clin.cs of Mauritan.a. All cases of colorectal can.ers histologically con.irmed were in.luded. The Astler an. Coller classification.was used to classify lesion. by level of exten.ion. Results: 225 patien.s were in.luded with a sex ratio (M/F) of 1.39, an.average age of 52.3 years. Location.of the lesion.was rectal (37.7%) an. colon.c (62.3%). Clin.cal man.festation. were domin.ted by rectal bleedin. (26.9%), occlusive syn.rome (16.5%) an. tran.it disorders (11.6%). En.oscopic lesion. were of sten.sin. (45.2%), ulcero-burgeon.n. (39%), ulcerous (7.5%) an. burgeon.n. (4.7%) types. Histological profiles were aden.carcin.ma (88.9%), carcin.ma (3.1%) an. lymphoma (2.6%). The work-up for exten.ion.revealed metastasis in.33.6% of cases. These were stage B (49%) an. C (36%) amon. the 95 can.ers that received the Astler an. Coller classification. The treatmen. was curative (80.83%) an. palliative (19.16%). Con.lusion. Colorectal can.er is a reality in.Africa. However, its diagn.sis still remain. delayed, which in.reases the progn.sis, hen.e the n.ed to promote screen.n. tests.

In.spite of the relevan.e of curren. studies on.the importan.e of organ.c fertilizers such as an.mal man.re in.improvin. the health of ecosystems, little is kn.wn.about the biochemical mechan.sms affectin. the availability of n.trien.s released from the organ.c fertilizer in.water. A litter bag study durin. 6 weeks was carried out in.pots con.ain.n. 25 liters of water with 15 g of pig dejection. as organ.c fertilizers. The experimen.al design.was a completely ran.omized block design.with three replication.. The treatmen.s con.isted of dejection. of pigs n.urished with: recommen.ed diet composition.T1, partially improved diet with Azolla filiculoides T2, improved diet with Azolla filiculoides T3, improved diet with cereal bran.T4. A con.rol treatmen. without dejection.(T0) was con.idered in.the study for comparison.purpose. Four pigs per type of diet were con.idered leadin. to 16 white lan.race pigs of six mon.hs age followed for dejection.collection.. Stron. release of n.trien.s for better yield for agro-fish system was obtain.d in.the man.re T1 with ??(10.85 ± 0.00) mg/L;?( 0.011 ± 0.00) mg/L;?(2.13 ± 0.07) mg/L an. K+ (10.76 ± 0.57) mg/L;Ca2+ (2.92 ± 0.11) mg/L an. Mg2+ (2.53 ± 0.00) mg/L followed by man.re T3 an. T4 with high n.con.en.. The relatively low ratio C/n.(14.25) for T1 an. (15.84) for T3 in.uced more n.trien.s releasin.. This study showed an.importan. n.loss probably due to microorgan.sm activities which fluctuate n.trien. availability. This study aims to evaluate dust impact on.climate parameters over the Sahel region.by RegCM3 region.l model durin. 2006. In.eed, aerosols are on. of the main.un.ertain.ies in.climate models. The aerosol optical depth (AOD) derived from RegCM3 model has been.validated with various observed datasets. The aerosol sources are iden.ified over n.rth Algeria an. East of Sahel (Bodele depression.. Discrepan.ies are n.ted when.con.iderin. dust temporal an. spatial distribution. Dust season.exten.s between.March an. October, with two peaks of AOD recorded in.March (sprin.) an. Jun. (summer). The dust vertical distribution.showed that the min.ral aerosol layer is located between.850 hPa an. 300 hPa (1.5 km to 7 km). The RegCM3 model simulates fairly well the tran.port in.the upper layers, especially in.the Saharan.Air Layer (SAL) durin. the summer. However, RegCM3 simulates poorly the tran.port an. sedimen.ation.of particles in.the lower layers (below 2 km). The in.estigation.of dust radiative impact shows a gen.ral coolin.. The maximum of radiative forcin. is located aroun. 18°n.- 20°n. with values of about -80 W/m2 in.Jun. - August (JJA) an. -40 W/m2 at the surface durin. March - May (MAM). This study also showed the in.irect effect of dust with a decrease in.precipitation.about -0.7 mm/day aroun. 15 - 20°n.durin. the rain. season.

The volcan.c tuffs of Sen.gal-Orien.al in.Mako area are produced durin. a calc-alkalin. volcan.sm which occurs in.this region.an. which is dated from about 2.3 - 1.95 Ga. Despite their altered appearan.e, the X-Ray diffraction. show min.ral paragen.sis: Quartz-Kaolin.te-Illite an. an.importan. amorphous phase. On.the Tern.ry Keil-Ran.in.diagram for the CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 the volcan.c tuffs of Mako area are situated between.pozzolan.an. the fly ash. The differen.e between.silica an. lime is greater than.34% in.these volcan.c tuffs. In.this study, they have been.mixed with Portlan. cemen. to obtain.pozzolan.c cemen.s respectively with 20%, 30%, 35% an. 40% of addition.of volcan.c tuffs. The pozzolan.c reactivity is highlighted by the compressive stren.th in.rease un.il 90 days of con.ervation.in.water. It supposes that the vitreous phase of the volcan.c tuffs reacts with the free CaO (CaOf) of Portlan. cemen. to produce n.w hydrated min.rals. This study has a positive econ.mic an. en.iron.en.al impact. Because the time of grin.in. of pozzolan.c cemen.s is reduced. Also, the addition.of volcan.c tuffs reduces the production.of clin.er, then.the CO2 emission.

Described by An.on.n.Pon.et in.1897, Pon.et’s disease is a n.n.destructive (n.n.erosive) in.lammatory arthritis secon.ary to a mycobacterial in.ection. without an.iden.ified in.ectious agen. in.the affected join.s. n.uromen.n.eal localization.of tuberculosis (TB) is rare but remain. the most severe with hight mortality an. perman.n. n.urological damage. Association.of Pon.et’s rheumatism an. TB is rare, even.less a n.uromen.n.eal localization. We report here a case of optic n.rve compression.syn.rome complicatin. tuberculous men.n.itis associated with Pon.et’s rheumatism characterized by a good outcome. This was an.18-year-old female with n. reported pathological history, who was admitted for obn.bilation. The symptoms started two weeks before her hospitalization.an. were marked by fever an. headache. On.admission. the examin.tion.revealed obn.bilation. bilateral pyramidal deficit syn.rome, right ptosis an. areactive mydriasis predomin.tin. on.the right, men.n.eal syn.rome, an. in.en.e in.lammatory polyarthralgia. The brain.CT showed men.n.eal con.rast en.an.emen. with moderate dilatation.of ven.ricles. Gen.Xpert MTB/rif in.CSF was positive. Rheumatoid factors (latex an. Waaler-Rose test) an. an.i-CCP an.ibodies were n.gative. An.i-n.clear, an.i-n.tive Dn. an. an.i-n.S an.ibodies were n.gative. Ophthalmological examin.tion.revealed optic n.rve compression.syn.rome associated with extrin.ic an. in.rin.ic oculomotor paralysis in.the right eye. Orbito-en.ephalic MRI showed compression.of the optic n.rve, an. hydrocephalus. Un.er an.ituberculosis treatmen., we n.ticed disappearan.e of arthralgia in.three weeks, regression.of in.racran.al hyperten.ion.an. improvemen. of vision.
