Efficacy of the revised Vienna Classification for diagnosing colorectal epithelial neoplasias

AIM:To prospectively investigate the effi cacy of the revised Vienna Classifi cation for diagnosing colorectal epithelial neoplastic lesions in cold biopsy ***:Patients were selected for inclusion if they had colorectal epithelial lesions that were not considered suitable for direct endoscopic *** included colorectal polyps ≥ 10 mm and lesions suspected of being carcinomas capable of invading the colorectal submucosa or beyond,including strictures,based on the cold biopsies obtained from each lesion prior to *** investigated the relationship between diagnoses based on cold biopsy samples using the revised Vienna Classification and resected specimens of the same lesions,and the therapeutic implications of diagnoses made using the revised Vienna *** same cold biopsy specimens were also examined using the Japanese Group Classifi cation guidelines,and compared with the resected specimens of the same lesions for ***:A total of 179 lesions were *** sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive values of the revised Vienna Classification for distinguishing between intramucosal lesions and submucosal invasive carcinomas in cold biopsy specimens was 22.2%,100%,100%,and 71.4%,respectively,and for distinguishing between intramucosal lesions and those invading the submucosa or beyond was 59.7%,100%,100%,and 37.6%,*** sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive values of the Japanese Group Classification for distinguishing between intramucosal lesions and submucosal invasive carcinomas in cold biopsy specimens was 83.3%,91.4%,83.3%,and 91.4%,respectively,and for distinguishing between intramucosal lesions and those invading the submucosa or beyond was 95.1%,91.4%,97.9%,and 82.1%,respectively.A total of 137 of 144 carcinomas that had invaded the submucosa or beyond and three high-grade intraepithelial neoplasias were diagnosed as "carcinoma" using the Japanese Group Cla

Objective:The aim of this study is to detect in vitro the synergetic activity of colistin in combination with imipenem,amikacin or ciprofloxacin,at sub-inhibitory concentrations,against carbapenems-resistant(CR)Acinetobacter baumannii and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains isolated from various wards in Annaba teaching hospital in eastern *** and Methods:The minimal inhibitory concentrations(MIC)were determined by broth macrodilution(BMD).Carbapenemase encoding genes were screened using polymerase chain reaction(PCR).The activity of colistin in combination with second antibiotic was evaluated by the Checkerboard ***:39 CR *** and 21 CR *** strains where *** MIC values ranging from(0.25 to 4μg/ml)to colistin,≥16μg/ml for imipenem,≥4μg/ml to amikacin and≥8μg/ml *** PCR reveals the presence of the genes blaOXA23(n=12),blaOXA24(n=6),blaNDM1(n=3)in *** and blaVIM2(n=12)in *** combination of colistin with imipenem showed synergistic effect on 57.14%and 46.15%of *** and *** isolates,*** colistin and amikacin,the synergistic effect is detected in 28.6%of *** and 30.8%of *** colistin and ciprofloxacin showed synergy on 14.29%and 15.38%of *** and *** isolates,***:CR *** and *** remain the most prevalent infection agents in patients from high-risk wards at Annaba *** associated with imipenem or with amikacin at sub-inhibitory concentrations gives very encouraging results allowing better management of infections caused by this type of bacteria.

Boundary Value Problems for Burgers Equations, through Nonstandard Analysis

In this paper we study inviscid and viscid Burgers equations with initial conditions in the half plane . First we consider the Burgers equations with initial conditions admitting two and three shocks and use the HOPF-COLE transformation to linearize the problems and explicitly solve them. Next we study the Burgers equation and solve the initial value problem for it. We study the asymptotic behavior of solutions and we show that the exact solution of boundary value problem for viscid Burgers equation as viscosity parameter is sufficiently small approach the shock type solution of boundary value problem for inviscid Burgers equation. We discuss both confluence and interacting shocks. In this article a new approach has been developed to find the exact solutions. The results are formulated in classical mathematics and proved with infinitesimal technique of non standard analysis.

Optimization and validation of a fast RP-HPLC method for the determination of dobutamine in rat plasma:Pharmacokinetic studies in healthy rat subjects

A novel isocratic reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography （RP-HPLC） with photo diode array （PDA） detection method for the determination of dobutamine （DBT） in rat plasma was developed and validated after optimization of various chromatographic conditions and other experimental parameters. Homoveratrylamiue was used as an internal standard. Methanol was used as the extracting solvent for the preparation of plasma samples. samples were separated on a symmetry C18 （250ram x4.6mm i.d., 5 pro） analytical column. Acetonitrile and 15raM potassium dihydrogen phosphate （pH 5.0 with 0.3% TEA）（20：80, v/v） was used. The column oven temperature was optimized at 35 ~C and the flow rate was 0.8 mL/min. The detection wavelength was fixed at 230 nm for entire analysis. The calibration curve was found to be linear over the concentration range of 50-2000 ng/mL （ra=0.9992）. The limit of quantification （LOQ） of the method was 50 ng/mL. The % RsD values of accuracy and precision values for intra and inter days were 〈 15% at quality control （QC） concentrations. Recovery, stability and robustness were studied within the acceptable range according to ICH guidelines. The method was efficiently applied to a pharmacokinetic study in healthy Wistar rats.

One-pot chemical activation and pyrolysis process was developed for biochar production from red macroalgae residue of Gelidium *** macroalgae residue was activated by various catalysts(KOH,NaOH,H_(3)PO_(4),and CH_(4)ON_(2))with the two concentrations(2.5 wt%and 5 wt%)using a pulverization system followed by slow pyrolysis at 500℃.The activated biochars showed a porous morphology with an increase of water holding capacity compared to the unactivated *** properties of activated biochar observed by further characterization(i.e.,FTIR,sEM,TGA)revealed their feasibility to be used as an *** results of adsorption experiment confirmed that adsorption was dependent not only on the surface area but also on the surface charge,and functional *** sorption performance of activated biochars(AcBC),in terms of the adsorption of methylene blue,was comparable to commercial activated charcoal(Norit^(■)).NaOH(2.5 wt%)-activated biochar had the removal efficiency of 87%versus 97%for commercial activated charcoal.

The saghro massif constitutes a vast metallogenic province with numerous deposits and shows of base metals (lead, zinc, copper) and precious metals (gold and silver), besides various useful substances (talc, pyrophyllite, barite, fluorite). silver/lead occurrences are concentrated along the Cryogenian Imiter series and moderately at Boumalne and sidi Flah. Copper occupies the plutonic intrusions and intrusive rocks of the East-Central saghro while barite deposits are widespread throughout the Cambrian cover of the East saghro in contact with the Ediacaran basement. To justify this distribution, the new contributions of the cartography and the organic geochemistry of the black shales of Jbel saghro have clearly shown the particularity of the Imiter black shales in terms of the richness in organic matter (TOC = 0.18%), the blackish color and the friability. The Boumalne and sidi Flah groups present some similarities with the Imiter group, such as the sub-equatorial structuring, the friable pelites and the richness in organic matter (Boumalne TOC = 0.11% and sidiFlah TOC = 0.16%), which is a quite good show that requires to reinforce the exploration works. For Western saghro in the Iknioun and Qalaa’t M’Gouna groups, the variations in the thickness of the volcanic cover show an irregular paleotopography with hard, greenish, organic-poor pelitic sediments (TOC = 0.01 to 0.04%). We can conclude that the formation of Imiter-type silver concentrations requires the combination of the sedimentological, the volcanic and structural factors. For Imiter-type silver these factors are: a fine pelitic and argillic casing deposited in a confined environment, a basic volcanism source of metals and other intermediate to acid generated by the hydrothermalism and heat, a convenable paleotopography and a network of fracturations to trap the mineralizations.

Acid suppressive therapy improved symptoms due to circumferential cervical inlet patch with proton pumps(H^+/K^+-ATPase)

Cervical inlet patch(CIP), also referred to as esophageal heterotopic gastric mucosa, is regarded as the residue of columnar epithelium of the embryonic esophagus. Narrow band imaging increases the detection rate of CIP. Herein, we present a 55-year-old man with symptomatic circumferential inlet patch. He exhibited globus and dysphagia, and esophagogastroduodenoscopy found cir-cumferential CIP, where im-munohistochemistry revealed the existence of pro-ton pumps(H^+, K^+ -ATPase). His throat symptoms were relieved by acid suppressive therapy with pump inhibitors. This case indicated that CIP should be considered as a differential diagnosis for the cause of globus symptoms in rare cases.

Pseudotumoral acute cerebellitis associated with mumps infection in a child

Pseudotumoral cerebellitis in childhood is an uncommon presentation of cerebellitis mimicking a brain tumor. It often follows an inflammatory or infectious event, particularly due to varicella virus. Patients could have a wide clinical spectrum on presentation. some patients may be asymptomatic or present at most with mild cerebellar signs, whereas others may suffer severe forms with brainstem involvement and severe intracranial hypertension mimicking tumor warranting surgical intervention. Imaging techniques especially multimodal magnetic resonance imaging represent an interesting tool to differentiate between posterior fossa tumors and acute cerebellitis. We describe a case of pseudotumoral cerebellitis in a 6-year-old girl consequent to mumps infection and review the literature on this rare association.

The Gabon geology offered favorable and natural environments for the formation of various types of mineralization. The Etéké gold district, aim of this study, is located in the Ngounié province (southern Gabon) on the western edge of the Chaillu massif. Geologically, the gold mineralization is associated with the Eburnean orogeny and hosted in the Archean greenstone belts. Also, this deposit is covered by a significant vegetation cover and a very extensive lateritic weathering profile, which hinders the most accurate study. Through this paper, we aim to propose a genesis pattern of this mineralization via a multidisciplinary approach. To do this, a petrographic, metallogenic, and geochemical characterization has been established in the different sectors of the Etéké deposit. The studied deposits display varied facies which are encased in granitoid. They are essentially formed of abundant granitoid, and amphibolite compared to the volcano-sedimentary formations. These rocks display magmatic textures, affected by metamorphism, and not sufficiently preserved. Based on our multidisciplinary approach, the studied samples collected from the core’s boreholes allowed us to decipher a volcanogenic and metamorphosed origin of the gold genesis.
