The Sa'al Metamorphic Complex(SMC;southern Sinai)encompasses the oldest arc rocks in the Arabian–Nubian Shield,comprising two non-consanguineous metavolcanic successions(the Agramiya Group and the Post-Ra'ayan Formation)separated by the metasediments of the Ra'ayan *** experienced three distinct deformational events(D_(1)–D_(3))and two low-medium grade regional metamorphic events(M_1–M_(2)).The Agramiya Group and the Ra'ayan Formation experienced all tectonometamorphic events(D_1–D_(3)and M_(1)–M_(2)),whereas the Post-Ra'ayan volcanic rocks were only affected by the D_(3)and M_(2)events.D_(1)is an extensional event and is connected to the late Rodinia break-up(~Tonian;900–870 Ma).The M_(1)metamorphism variably affected the older Agramiya Group,the rhyolitic tuffs experiencing lower to upper greenschist facies conditions and the basic and intermediate volcanic rocks undergoing amphibolite facies *** Ra'ayan Formation metasediments experienced upper greenschist to amphibolite facies *** upper greenschist facies M_(2)affected the youngest Post-Ra'ayan volcanic rocks and other stratigraphic *** compressive D_(2)and D_(3)events were coeval with the accretion of dismembered terranes in the assembly of Gondwana.D_(2)can be linked to the Tonian–Cryogenian arc-arc assembly(~880–760 Ma;in elat and Sinai),whereas D_(3)and the accompanying M_(2)is constrained to 622–600 Ma(Ediacaran).

Phase Change Materials(PCMs)have high thermal inertia,and hemp concrete(HC),a bio-based concrete,has strong hygroscopic *** previous studies,PCM has been extensively combined with many materials,however,most of these studies focused on thermal properties while neglecting hygroscopic *** this study,the two materials have been combined into a building envelope and the related hygrothermal properties have been *** particular,numerical studies have been performed to investigate the temperature and relative humidity behavior inside the HC,and the effect of adding PCM on the hygrothermal behavior of the *** results show that there is a high coupling between temperature and relative humidity inside the HC,since the relative humidity changes on the second and third days are different,with values of 8%and 4%,***,the variation of relative humidity with temperature indicates the dominant influence of temperature on relative humidity *** the presence of PCM,the temperature variation inside the HC is damped due to the high thermal inertia of the PCM,which also leads to suppression of moisture evaporation and thus damping of relative humidity *** the second and third days,the temperature changes at the central position are reduced by 4.6%and 5.1%,compared to the quarter *** the relative humidity change,the reductions are 5.3%and 5.4%on the second and third days,***,PCM,with high thermal inertia,acts as a temperature damper and has the potential to increase the moisture buffering capacity inside the *** makes it possible for such a combined envelope to have both thermal and hygric inertia.

Direct soil temperature(ST)measurement is time-consuming and costly;thus,the use of simple and cost-effective machine learning(ML)tools is *** this study,ML approaches,including KStar,instance-based K-nearest learning(IBK),and locally weighted learning(LWL),coupled with resampling algorithms of bagging(BA)and dagging(DA)(BA-IBK,BA-KStar,BA-LWL,DA-IBK,DA-KStar,and DA-LWL)were developed and tested for multi-step ahead(3,6,and 9 d ahead)ST *** addition,a linear regression(LR)model was used as a benchmark to evaluate the results.A dataset was established,with daily ST time-series at 5 and 50 cm soil depths in a farmland as models’output and meteorological data as models’input,including mean(T_(mean)),minimum(Tmin),and maximum(T_(max))air temperatures,evaporation(Eva),sunshine hours(SSH),and solar radiation(SR),which were collected at Isfahan Synoptic Station(Iran)for 13 years(1992–2005).Six different input combination scenarios were selected based on Pearson’s correlation coefficients between inputs and outputs and fed into the *** used 70%of the data to train the models,with the remaining 30%used for model evaluation via multiple visual and quantitative ***?ndings showed that T_(mean)was the most effective input variable for ST forecasting in most of the developed models,while in some cases the combinations of variables,including T_(mean)and T_(max)and T_(mean),T_(max),Tmin,Eva,and SSH proved to be the best input *** the evaluated models,BA-KStar showed greater compatibility,while in most cases,BA-IBK and-LWL provided more accurate results,depending on soil *** the 5 cm soil depth,BA-KStar had superior performance(i.e.,Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency(NSE)=0.90,0.87,and 0.85 for 3,6,and 9 d ahead forecasting,respectively);for the 50 cm soil depth,DA-KStar outperformed the other models(i.e.,NSE=0.88,0.89,and 0.89 for 3,6,and 9 d ahead forecasting,respectively).The results con?rmed that all hybrid models had higher prediction

This mini review aimed to discuss and compare the findings of a genotypic study done by Gor-nas et al., 2011 and some environmental and social factors discussed previously in Sudan. The main conclusion was the agreement of the genotypic analysis with the previous observations done on the phenotypic part. The important recommendation was to support the nomadic system so as to preserve the biodiversity of livestock in Sudan.

This study aims to estimate the quantum Bogoliubov-Born-Green-Kirkwood-Yvon (BBGKY) hierarchy in curvilinear coordinates. We used the results to calculate the quantum binary and triplet distribution functions in curvilinear coordinates. The analytical form of the quantum distribution functions was obtained for dusty plasma in Saturn’s rings model. We use particles-in-cell (PIC) simulations to find a visualization of dusty three-component plasma phase space in curvilinear coordinates. Our results were compared with others.

Harnessing of Chemically Modified Rice Straw Plant Waste as Unique Adsorbent for Reducing Organic and Inorganic Pollutants

Conversion of rice straw (RS) as one of agricultural plant wastes (about 45% of the volume of rice production) to valuable industrial product was achieved, by grafting different amounts of dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEM) on it using potassium permanganate/nitric acid redox system. This was done to obtain six levels of poly (DMAEM)—rice straw graft copolymers (PDMAEMRS) having different graft yields (expressed as N%) with increasing order and designated as (PDMAEMRS 1 to PDMAEMRS 6). The latter copolymers were dispersed in aqueous solution of heavy metal ions Cu (II) ions and filtered to form rice straw co-polymer—metal ions complex. Different factors affecting the heavy metal ions removal such as pH, extent of grafting, treatment time and rice straw dose were studied in detail. It was found from the obtained results that;the residual metal ions removal from their aqueous solutions increased with 1) increasing the extent of grafting of PDMAEMRS i.e. from PDMAEMRS 1 to PDMAEMRS 6;2) increasing the pH of the metal ions solution complex from 1 to 8;3) increasing the rice straw dosage from 0.50 to 2.0 g, then leveled off thereafter;4) increasing the time of the reaction up to 20 minute then leveled off after that. On the other hand, Pb (II), Cd (II) and Hg (II) ions were also removed from their solutions with different extent. Furthermore, the prepared co-polymer could be recovered by washing the metal ions from the complex with weak acid 1 N HNO3 (pH 2) and the metal-binding activity of the rice straw was slightly reduced by this process. Finally, the ability of PDMAEMRS to remove three types of acid dyes from their solutions was also reported.

We have measured the electric dipole moment of several Scn-C60 molecules (n = 1 - 6) in gaseous phase, by coupling a matrix-assisted laser desorption source to an electric beam deflection setup which is an electric equivalent of the famous Stern Gerlach [1] one. Experimental results are compared to a qualitative charge transfer that occurs between Sc and fullerene.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of dietary intervention with apricots, pomegranate juice or lactic acid fermented sobya on improving the plasma levels of lipid profile parameters and total plasma homocysteine (tHcy) among healthy adults. Design of the study: Thirty-five men and women (28.9 ± 3.0 years) with mean body mass index of 23.5 ± 1.2 kg/m2 were randomly assigned to a dietary intervention study. During the pre-feeding study records of 24-hour food intake, anthropometric measurements and blood sampling were collected for biochemical investigations. Thereafter the volunteers were divided into five groups: a control group (C);the other four groups received daily one of the following supplements: 200 g of deep yellow apricots (Prunus armeniaca) (AF);250 g pomegranate (Punica granatum) juice (PJ);mixture of 100 g (PJ) and 150 g of fermented sobya (FS), (PJ-FS) or 165 g (FS). After completing the three-week dietary intervention, blood samples were collected and blood indices were again evaluated. Biochemical analysis of total lipids (TL), total glycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and tHcy were completed. The low density lipoprotein-cholesterol level and three indices of risk factors were calculated using the appropriate equations. Results: Three-week dietary intervention improved the levels of lipid profile parameters TG, TC, HDL-C and LDL-C as compared to the respective baseline levels and the response of the control group that did not receive any supplement. Consuming (PJ-FS) had a synergistic beneficially added value on some of the above mentioned lipid profile parameters. The mean plasma tHcy concentrations;a marker for occlusive vascular disease was reduced significantly following the three week consumption of (PJ) or (FS), compared with the respective pre-feeding levels. The influences of medicinal plants Juniperus Phoenicea (Araar), Hyphaene thebaica (Doum), An-astatica hierochuntica (Kafta) and Cleome droserifolia (Sammo) as antidiabetic agents were investigated using female pregnant albino rats. Female rats were injected with 60 mg/kg b.w. alloxan to induce diabe-tes. Diabetic rats treated orally with the methanol extracts of tested plants till the 19 day of gestation. The present studies include the frequencies of chro-mosomal aberrations and nucleic acid system of liver in the female pregnant rats and their embryos. The results showed that injection of alloxan caused highly significant increase in chromosomal aberrations as well as in blood glucose levels as a result of diabetes in pregnant females. It also caused a high incidence of chromosomal deviation in embryos and decreased the liver soluble protein contents of female rats and their embryos. These effects in alloxanized animals were treated and improved by ingestion of the methanol extracts of the tested plants (Araar, Doum, Kafta and Somma) in which under their treatments, the inceased level of blood glu-cose of diabetic rats was deceased. Ingestion with the plants methanolic extracts improved and normalized the effects of diabetes in nucleic acids values of liver tissues. These were accompanied with nucleases (RNAase and DNAase) activities. The inhibited ac-tivities of both DNA ase and RNA ase of pregnant rats and their embryos were stimulated and read-justed around the normal values. Also administration of the plants methanol extracts decreased the per-centage of chromosomal aberrations in the female rats and embryos. It is concluded that there are some biochemical dynamics which might occur in the metabo-lism of glucose, nucleic acids and proteins in order to prevent or to reduce the oxidative stress of diabetes by flavonoides treatment.
