Positive Rate of Different Hepatitis B Virus Serological Markers in Peking Union Medical College Hospital,a General Tertiary Hospital in Beijing

Objectives To investigate the positive rate of different hepatitis B virus （HBV） serological markers, and the demographic factors related to HBV infection. Methods We enrolled all patients tested for HBV serological markers, such as HBV surface antigen （HBsAg）, HBV surface antibody （HBsAb）, hepatitis B e antigen （HBeAg）, hepatitis B e antibody （HBeAb）, HBV core antibody （HBcAb）, and HBV-DNA from July 2008 to July 2009 in Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The positive rate of each HBV serological marker was calculated according to gender, age, and department, respectively. The positive rates of HBV-DNA among patients with positive HBsAg were also analyzed. Results Among 27 409 samples included, 2681 （9.8%） were HBsAg positive. When patients were divided into 9 age groups, the age-specific positive rate of HBsAg was 1.2%, 9.6%, 12.3%, 10.9%, 10.3%, 9.7%, 8.0%, 5.8%, and 4.3%, respectively. The positive rate of HBsAg in non-surgical department, surgical department, and health examination center was 16.2%, 5.8%, and 4.7%, respectively. The positive rate of HBsAg of males （13.3%） was higher than that of females （7.3%, P=0.000）. Among the 2681 HBsAg （＋） patients, 1230 （45.9%） had HBV-DNA test, of whom 564 （45.9%） were positive. Patients with HBsAg （＋）, HBeAg （＋）, and HBcAg （＋） result usually had high positive rate of HBV-DNA results （71.8%, P=0.000）. Conclusions Among this group of patients in our hospital, the positive rate of HBsAg was relatively high. Age group of 20-29, males, and patients in non-surgical departments were factors associated with high positive rate of HBsAg.

Single thiolate replacement of metal nanoclusters

Surface thiolates play important roles in evincing the structures and properties of thiolated metal nanoclusters—one type of recently emerging inorganic-organic hybrids,and thus the thiolate substitution,especially single thiolate substitution,is highly desirable for subtly tailoring the structures and properties of metal ***,such a single-thiolate substituting is challenging,and its influence on the metal-metal and metal-sulfur bonds remains mysterious due to the absence of the singlethiolate-substituted ***,we developed a combined method,concurrently synthesized the single-thiolate-substituted nanocluster and its parent nanocluster,and successfully resolved their structures by single crystal X-ray crystallography,which reveals that the single thiolate substitute has an obvious influence on the metal-metal and metal-sulfur bond lengths although it has no effect on the absorption ***,the metal-metal and metal-sulfur bonds show various thermal extensibility and even the negative thermal expansion phenomena of the Au–S bond were observed in the single-thiolate-substituted *** bond length-related stability was also ***,this study highlights a novel synthesis method and offers novel structural insights and an in-depth structure-property correlation of thiolated metal nanoclusters.

Clinical and Laboratory Characteristics of Patients with Nontuberculous Mycobacterium Bloodstream Infection in a Tertiary Referral Hospital in Beijing, China

Background： Nontuberculous Mycobacterium （NTM） bloodstream infection （BSI） is relatively rare. We aimed in this study to evaluate the clinical characteristics, laboratory evaluation, and outcomes of patients with NTM BSI. Methods： We retrospectively reviewed the clinical records of inpatients with NTM BSI at our institution between January 2008 and January 2015 and recorded clinical parameters including age, gender, underlying disease, clinical manifestation, organs involved with NTM disease, species of NTM, laboratory data, treatment and outcome of these patients. We also reviewed the reported cases and case series ofNTM BSI by searching PubMed, EMBASE, and Wanfang databases. Data of normal distribution were expressed by mean ~ standard deviation （SD）. Data of nonnormal distribution were expressed by median and interquartile range （IQR）. Results： Among the ten patients with NTM BSI, the median age was 51 years （IQR 29-57 years） and three patients were males. Eight patients were immunocompromised, with underlying diseases including human immunodeficiency virus （HIV） infection （one patient）, rheumatic diseases （two patients）, breast cancer （one patient）, myelodysplastic syndrome （two patients）, and aplastic anemia （two patients）. Other organ（s） involved were lung （two patients）, endocardium （two patients）, brain, spinal cord, and soft tissue （one each patient）. The median lymphocyte was 0.66 x 109/L （IQR 0.24-1 .93 × 10^9/L）. The median cluster of differentiation 4 （CD4） cell count was 179/ mm^3 （IQR 82-19/mm^3）. Five patients died （three with hematological diseases, one with breast cancer, and one with rheumatic disease）, three recovered, and two were lost to follow-up. Conclusions： We reported all cases in our hospital diagnosed with bloodstream NTM infection that was rarely reported. In this group of patients, patients usually had a high fever and could have multiple organ involvements. All patients with poor prognosis had underlying diseases.

Background： Tuberculosis （TB） remains a major global public health challenge. Articular T/3 is an important form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, and its diagnosis is difficult because of the low sensitivity of traditional methods. The aim of this study was to analyze the diagnostic value of *** on synovial fluid for the diagnosis of articular TB. Methods： Patients with suspected articular TB were enrolled consecutively between August 2011 and December 2015. *** was performed on both synovial fluid mononuclear cells （SFMCs） and peripheral blood mononuclear cells （PBMCs）. The final diagnosis of articular TB was independent of the *** result. The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, predictive value, and likelihood ratio of *** on SFMCs and PBMCs were analyzed. Results： Twenty patients with suspected articular TB were enrolled. Six were diagnosed with articular TB, and 14 patients were diagnosed with other diseases. Sensitivity and specificity were 83% and 86% for *** on SFMCs, and 67% and 69% for *** on PBMCs, respectively. The positive predictive value （PPV） and negative predictive value （NPV） of *** on SFMCs were 71% and 92%, respectively. The PPV and NPV were 50% and 82% for *** on PBMCs. Conclusion： Sensitivity, specificity, and NPV of *** on SFMCs appeared higher than that on PBMCs, indicating that T-SPOT. TB on SFMCs might be a rapid and accurate diagnostic test for articular TB.

The formation and evolutionary characteristics of organic matter and pyrites in the continental shales of the 3^(rd)submember of Chang 7 Member,Yanchang formation,Ordos Basin,China

Through microscopic analyses(e.g.,organic macerals,thin section observation,scanning electron microscope(SEM)imaging of fresh bedding planes via argon ion milling,and energy spectrum tests)combined with Rock-Eval analyses,this study systematically investigated the organic matter and pyrites in the continental shales in the 3^(rd)submember of the Chang 7 Member(Chang 7^(3)submember)in the Yanchang Formation,Ordos Basin and determined their types and the formation and evolutionary *** results are as *** organic matter of the continental shales in the Chang 7^(3)submember is dominated by amorphous bituminites and migrabitumens,which have come into being since the early diagenetic stage and middle diagenetic stage A,*** formation and transformation of organic matter is a prerequisite for the formation of *** Ordos Basin was a continental freshwater lacustrine basin and lacked sulphates in waters during the deposition of the Chang 7 ***,the syndiagenetic stage did not witness the formation of large quantities of *** the basin entered early diagenetic stage A,large quantities of sulfur ions were released as the primary organic matter got converted into bituminites and,accordingly,pyrites started to ***,this stage featured poorer fluid and spatial conditions compared with the syndepositional stage due to withdraw of water,the partial formation of bituminites,and a certain degree of *** a result,large quantities of pyrrhotite failed to transition into typical spherical framboidal pyrites but grew into euhedral monocrystal *** addition,pyrites are still visible in the migrabitumens in both microfractures and inorganic pores of mudstones and shales,indicating that the pyrite formation period can extend until the middle diagenetic stage A.

Carbon mitigation of buildings is critical to promote a net-zero *** international society has vigorously promoted‘‘Net Zero Carbon Buildings”across the globe,and accounting for building carbon emissions is critical to support this *** carbon,which represents carbon emissions from the entire lifecycle of the buildings,is fundamental for realizing the idea of zero ***,only limited studies have been conducted so far that take into account the city *** paper aimed to act as a first try to account for the embodied carbon emissions in buildings in 2020 for the Guangdong-Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area in China(GBA).We integrated remote sensing techniques such as night-time light data(NLT)and building material flows analysis to calculate and spatialize the newly generated building material stocks(MS).Based on the MS data,we further applied life cycle assessment(LCA)to assess the embodied carbon in the *** results highlighted that over 163 million tons of embodied carbon in buildings of GBA are expected to be generated,from 497 million tons of newly generated building MS in *** embodied carbon in each life cycle stage is valuable for further lifecyclebased policy designs for:(i)supporting the updating of the green building certification system with consideration of the embodied carbon;(ii)promoting the green building material application and certification;and(iii)reducing the embodied carbon intensity from compact urban planning policy,such as the urban agglomeration policies in *** goal of this paper was to shed a light on reducing carbon emissions from the perspective of the entire lifecycle and promote the development of net zero carbon buildings in China and Asia-Pacific.
