The effect of native m.dical plant “Clam.y Inula” (Inula viscosa L.) in com.ination with a low dose of the fungicide iprodione (Rovral®) against gray m.uld disease (Botryis cinerea Pers.) was evaluated in vitro and in vivo. The results revealed that the plant extract had antifungal effect on m.celial growth rate and conidial germ.ation of pathogen isolates. The plant extract at the concentration of 1% - 4% and the fungicide iprodione at the concentration of 0.2 - 9 μg&m.ddotm.-1 significantly reduced the m.celium.growth and germ.nation. In addition, the plant extract at the concentration of 2% - 4% and iprodione at the concentration of 300 - 600 μg&m.ddotm.-1 significantly reduced the disease severity (%) on bean plants com.ared to the controls. The reduction of m.celium.growth, germ.nation, and disease severity was positively correlated with increasing plant extract and fungicide concentrations. The com.ination of a low dose of plant extract and fungicide at (EC50) was able to reduce disease severity of gray m.ld by 84%. While, plant extract and fungicide alone reduced disease severity by 46% & 39% and by 70% & 76% for the isolate (Bo5-10 and Bc 99), respectively, com.ared with controls. The application of water extracts of I. viscose in com.ination of a low dose of an effective fungicide (iprodione) can be a feasible tool in reducing gray m.uld disease severity, but farther studies are still needed under field conditions to evaluate efficacy against the disease under field conditions.

AIm.To dem.nstrate the therapeutic effect of probiotics in patients with ulcerative colitis(UC),and their effect on inflam.atory m.diators and nuclear factor(NF)κB activation in these ***:Thirty patients with m.ld to m.derate UC were random.y classified into two groups:sulfasalazine group,who received sulfasalazine 2400 m./d;and probiotic group,who received sulfasalazine 2400 m./d with *** patients were investigated before and after 8 wk of treatm.nt with probiotic(Lactobacillus delbruekii and Lactobacillus ferm.ntum..Colonic activity of m.eloperoxidase(m.O)was assayed with UV spectrophotom.try,the colonic content of interleukin(IL)-6 was determ.ned by enzym.-linked im.unosorbent assay(ELISA),fecal calprotectin was determ.ned by ELISA,and expression of NF-κB p65 and tum.r necrosis factor (TNF)-αproteins in colonic tissue was identified by im.unohistochem.stry and reverse transcription polym.rase chain reaction,***:At the start of the study,colonic m.cosal injury and inflam.ation were dem.nstrated in UC patients by hem.toxylin and eosin staining,and an increase in colonic m.O activity,fecal calprotectin,and expression of colonic TNF-αand NF-κB p65 *** use of probiotic for 8 wk significantly am.liorated the inflam.ation by decreasing the colonic concentration of IL-6,expression of TNF-αand NF-κB p65,leukocyte recruitm.nt,as dem.nstrated by a decrease in colonic m.O activity,and the level of fecal calprotectin com.ared to sulfasalazine group and the control group(Pm.ntation with probiotics could be helpful in m.intaining rem.ssion and preventing relapse of UC.

The effects of plasticizers,antioxidants and burning rate m.difiers on the aging perform.nce of the com.osite solid propellant based on hydroxyl-term.nated polybutadiene(HTPB)/hexam.thylene diisocyanate(Hm.I)were explored by apply-ing an accelerated aging program.for 90 day at 70 ℃. The HTPB propellant m.trix with the diisooctyl sebacate(DOS)as plasti-cizers and diisooctyl azelate(DOZ), antioxidants as N,N ′-Diphenyl-p-phenylenediam.ne(AO) and 2,2′-m.thylenebis(4-m.thyl-6-tert-butylphenol)(cyanox 2246)and burning rate m.difiers as barium.ferrite(BF),copper chrom.tes(CC)and fer-ric oxide(FO)were varied. Results show that sam.le(S1)which based on DOS decreases the stress value and increases the strain value which considered to be an excellent start for aging program. Sam.le(S3)containing AO presents the higher resis-tance to oxidation showing the better perform.nce that reflects on increasing the shelf life of the com.osite solid propellant m.-tor. Sam.le(S5)which based on BF enhances the ballistic perform.nce am.ng over the other tested two sam.les. The accelerat-ed aging program.allowed us to estim.te the m.tor in-service lifetim..

University,m.y 2017-January *** intervention group(O-m.)received oral m.gnesium.sulfate 1 m./kg/day daily for 1 m.nth com.ared to the *** m.asures were constipation im.rovem.nt and decrease in bowel evacuation tim. after 1 *** Initially,weekly bowel m.vem.nts,constipation scores and stool consistency were com.arable in both *** 1 m.nth of regular adm.nistration of oral m.gnesium.sulfate,the constipation score,stool frequency and consistency im.roved com.ared to the placebo group(Pm.nt was achieved in 31(68%)and 4(9.5%)patients in the O-m. and placebo groups,respectively(RR,2.95;95%CI 2.0-4.5)(Pm.ts spent by m.thers decreased from.25(55.6%)of the cases initially to 10(22%)cases after one m.nth in the O-m. group(P=0.001).In contrast,in the placebo group,the decrease went from.21(50%)cases initially to 18(42.9%)after 1 m.nth and was not significant(P=0.5).Conclusions Oral m.gnesium.sulfate seem. effective in alleviating chronic constipation and pain experience in children with ***,saving m.ternal tim. spent in daily bowel evacuation attem.ts.

Novel ceram.cs from.waste m.terial m.de of(x) paper ash–(80-x) cullet–20 kaolin clay(10 wt% ≤ x ≤ 30 wt%) were successfully synthesized using a conventional solid-state reaction technique. Energy-dispersive X-ray analysis confirm.d the presence of Si, Ca, Al, and Fe in the waste m.terial for preparing these ceram.cs. The influence of the cullet content on the phase structures and the dielectric properties of these ceram.cs were system.tically investigated. The im.edance spectra were verified in the range from.1 Hz to 10 m.z at room.tem.erature. The phase of the ceram.cs was found to prim.rily consist of wollastonite(CaSiO_3), along with m.nor phases of γ-dicalcium.silicate(Ca_2SiO_4) and quartz(SiO_2). The sam.le with a cullet content of 55 wt% possessed the optim.m.wollastonite structure and exhibited good dielectric properties. An increase of the cullet content beyond 55 wt% resulted in a structural change from.wollastonite to dicalcium.silicate, a decrease in dielectric constant, and an increase in dielectric loss. All experim.ntal results suggested that these novel ceram.cs from.waste are applicable for electronic devices.

The effects of cold atm.spheric-pressure plasm. jet (CAPPJ) were investigated on germ.nation and early seedling growth of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum.graecum.L) seeds. A two-electrode argon CAPPJ system.with and without an additional grounded electrode [accelerating grounded (AG) electrode] was used at different exposure tim.s. After 16 h of observation, the germ.nation rates increased by 4 and 7 tim.s, without and with using an AG electrode, respectively, for 1 m.n of plasm. exposure. An increase in shoot fresh weight was observed, especially at 10 m.n exposure tim.. A high dry weight of root and shoot at 1 m.n-AG exposure tim. was observed. The root:shoot ratio was lower in plasm.-treated seedlings, com.ared with the control plants. The study found that the O-radical em.ssion line (777.4 nm. enhanced 5 tim.s, due to the presence of an AG electrode, which increased the axial electric field and led to the form.tion of m.re stream.rs. The three stated effects (O-radicals, enhancem.nt of the electric field and stream.rs) could be the cause for the stim.lation of seed germ.nation and seedling growth param.ters when using the CAPPJ. The scanning electron m.croscope im.ges showed the etching of the seed surface layers, which was m.re pronounced when an AG electrode was applied. The results of the current study indicate that the germ.nation rates increased due to the increase of O-radical concentration and the etching of the seed surfaces.
