Decades of work have elucidated cytokine signalling and transcriptional pathways that control T cell differentiation and have led the way to targeted biologic therapies that are effective in a range of autoimmune,allergic and inflammatory *** evidence indicates that obesity and metabolic disease can also influence the immune system1-7,although the mechanisms and effects on immunotherapy outcomes remain largely ***,using two models of atopic dermatitis,we show that lean and obese mice mount markedly different immune *** converted the classical type 2 T helper(TH2)-predominant disease associated with atopic dermatitis to a more severe disease with prominent TH17 *** also observed divergent responses to biologic therapies targeting TH2 cytokines,which robustly protected lean mice but exacerbated disease in obese ***-cell RNA sequencing coupled with genome-wide binding analyses revealed decreased activity of nuclear receptor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ(PPARγ)in TH2 cells from obese mice relative to lean mice.

Effect of Cation Proportion on the Structural and magnetic Properties of Ni-Zn Ferrites Nano-Size Particles Prepared By Co-Precipitation Technique

Ferrites having general formula Ni1-xZnxFe2O4 with x=0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, and 0.7 were prepared by wet chemical co-precipitation method. The structural and magnetic properties were studied by means of X-ray diffraction, magnetization, and AC susceptibility measurements. The X-ray analysis confirmed the single-phase formation of the samples. The lattice parameter obtained from XRD data was found to increase with Zn content x. The cation distribution was studied by X-ray intensity ratio calculations. magnetization results exhibit collinear ferrimagnetic structure for x≤0.4, and which changes to non-collinear for x〉0.4. Curie temperature TC obtained from AC susceptibility data decreases with increasing x.

Investigating Temporal Variation of Water Quality and Benthic macroinvertebrates in Taudaha Lake, Kathmandu, Nepal

Taudaha Lake is one of the important wetlands in Nepal, as it provides critical habitats for thousands of migratory birds and fishes. Despite being a critically important water body, there is a lack of detail chemical and biological studies on this lake. The present study investigates the effects of seasonal water quality variations in distribution and abundance of macroinvertebrates in Taudaha Lake, during four different seasons in 2006. The results indicate that all the water quality parameters, except secchi depth, and total alkalinity, significantly varied among seasons. The gross primary productivity of the lake also significantly varied among the seasons, with highest primary production during summer (3.92 ± 0.18 gC/m3/day) and lowest during spring (2.44 ± 0.67 gC/m3/day). A total of 2166 individual benthic macroinvertebrates from 10 families and 7 orders were collected during the study period. Unlike water quality parameters, the macroinvertebrate species composition did not vary significantly among the seasons. The results suggested that the change in lake water quality did not have significant impacts on community metrics such as species diversity, species richness, and species evenness.

A novel diurnal and seasonal variation analysis of BTEX in Bengaluru urban area

In the urban atmosphere of Bengaluru, various volatile organic compounds(VOCs), particularly Benzene,Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene(BTEX), have shown an increasing trend in concentration. The present research was conducted during summer and monsoon seasons, focusing on Kadubeesanahalli, a high-traffic area within the Bengaluru metropolitan City. Hourly sample data was collected using a BTEX analyzer(model GC955-600) and subsequently transformed into daily, monthly, and seasonal values. The study revealed distinct patterns in benzene concentrations. Benzene levels were lowest during the early morning hours, specifically from 1:00 *** 7:00 a.m.. Concentrations then increased from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,corresponding to the morning and evening peak traffic hours. However, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the concentration decreased due to reduced traffic levels. These diurnal variations in benzene concentration are influenced by meteorological parameters. Comparing the two seasons, higher concentrations of Benzene, EthylBenzene, and mP-xylene were observed during the summer season. This increase is attributed to the elevated temperatures during summer, which promote the vaporization of BTEX compounds. Conversely, lower BTEX concentrations were recorded during the monsoon season due to the wet deposition process. The observed positive correlation(r > 0.5) among BTEX parameters strongly suggests a common source, most likely originating from vehicular emissions.

In the present study an attempt has been made to present a systematic and interpretative analyses of per capita foodstuffs consumption and nutritional level in the rural areas of sagar division (m. P.). The Central thrust of this study has a bearing on the important aspect partaning to the vital relationship between food intake and health, following Gopalan et. al. (1993), per day per capita foodstuffs consumption is converted into their respective nutritive values. Our survey has revealed that the existing food habits in the villages under study lead to an imbalance of food intake, both quantity-wise and quality-wise, resulting to the nutritional deficiency is closely associated with the food production, diet habits and purchasing power of the individuals.

The origin and biosynthesis of the naphthalenoid moiety of juglone in black walnut

Several members of the Juglandaceae family produce juglone,a specialized 1,4-naphthoquinone(1,4-NQ)natural product that is responsible for the notorious allelopathic effects of black walnut(Juglans nigra).Despite its documented ecological roles and potential for being developed as a novel natural product-based herbicide,none of the genes involved in synthesizing juglone have been *** on classical labeling studies,we hypothesized that biosynthesis of juglone’s naphthalenoid moiety is shared with biochemical steps of the phylloquinone ***,using comparative transcriptomics in combination with targeted metabolic profiling of 1,4-NQs in various black walnut organs,we provide evidence that phylloquinone pathway genes involved in 1,4-dihydroxynaphthoic acid(DHNA)formation are expressed in roots for synthesis of a compound other than *** experiments using axenic black walnut root cultures revealed that stable isotopically labeled L-glutamate incorporates into juglone resulting in the same mass shift as that expected for labeling of the quinone ring in *** together,these results indicate that in planta,an intermediate from the phylloquinone pathway provides the naphthalenoid moiety of ***,this work shows that juglone can be de novo synthesized in roots without the contribution of immediate precursors translocated from aerial *** present study illuminates all genes involved in synthesizing the juglone naphthoquinone ring and provides RNA-sequencing datasets that can be used with functional screening studies to elucidate the remaining juglone pathway *** of the generated knowledge is expected to inform future metabolic engineering strategies for harnessing juglone as a novel natural product-based herbicide.
