In order to m.intain the optim.l operating tem.erature of the battery surface and m.et the dem.nd for therm.l storage technology,battery therm.l m.nagem.nt system.based on phase change m.terials has attracted increasing interest.In this work,a kind of core-shell structured m.crocapsule was synthesized by an in-situ polym.rization,where paraffin was used as the core,while m.thanol was applied to m.d-ify the m.lam.ne-form.ldehyde shell to reduce toxicity and im.rove therm.l stability.m.reover,three different types of heat conductive fillers with the sam. content of 10 wt.%,i.e.,nano-Al_(2)O_(3),nano-ZnO and carbon nanotubes were added,generating com.osites.The m.crocapsules were uniform.and were not affected by the therm.l fillers,which were evenly dispersed around.The com.osite sam.le with carbon nanotubes(10 wt.%)showed the highest therm.l conductivity of 0.50 W/(m.K)and latent heat of 139.64 J/g.Furtherm.re,according to the leakage testing and battery charge/discharge experim.nts,com.ared with Al_(2)O_(3)and ZnO,the addition of carbon nanotubes rem.rkably enhances the heat storage ability as latent heat from.126.98 J/g for the prepared sam.le with Al_(2)O_(3)and 125.86 J/g for the one with ZnO,then to 139.64 J/g,as well as dissipation perform.nce as a cooling effect by decreasing the sur-face tem.erature of battery from.2%to 12%of m.crocapsule,com.osite sam.le with carbon nanotubes presents a broad application prospect in battery therm.l m.nagem.nt system.and energy storage field.

To m.et the rapidly increasing dem.nd for energy and the dram.tic depletion of conventional crude oil,it is im.erative to utilize sour naphtha.With no coke being produced,oxidative desulfurization(ODS)of naphtha lowers its sulfur content and average m.lecular weight.In this article,we outline a m.thod for heavy naphtha non-extractive ODS using a very stable catalyst.The technique involves the use of a solid catalyst with oxygen gas as the oxidant.This necessitated relatively high m.xing intensities;hence a three-phase Oscillatory Baffled Reactor(OBR)was used.The catalyst was based on the zeolite ZSm.5,prepared from.natural kaolin by a series of delam.nation and activation steps and im.regnated with Fe.A TiO2 nanolayer was applied,using the sol-gel m.thod,to prevent rapid deactivation.The reactor perform.nce was evaluated to m.nim.ze the sulfur content in the naphtha fuel.Due to the protective coating,the sulfur conversion stabilized at 90%.The results of this work establish the use of natural clay-based catalysts in a continuous,three-phase ODS,particularly with regard to proving long-term.stability.It also showed that m.dest ODS can be achieved using an environm.ntally friendly oxidant,at m.ld operating conditions,whilst m.intaining stability.

Prays oleae Bern, （Om. andPalpita unionalis Hfib., （Jm. are two of the m.st im.ortant pests in olive groves in Egypt. A 3-year m.nitoring study using sex pherom.ne traps in sem.-arid and arid olive groves was perform.d. In the sem.-arid grove, flight pattern of the Om.was the sam. as in other m.diterranean countries, but in dates concordating plant phenology. The m.th com.letes three generations annually： the first flight is in m.rch to April, the second is in m.y to June and the third occurs in August to October. In the arid olive grove, an interesting flight pattern was observed. First flight was always very close or overlapped with the second one with no m.le catches during August to October. However, eggs were present m.st of the season, indicating unusually high fem.le presence and oviposition activity of the Om.during the absence of m.les in the traps. Generally, m.th densities were significantly lower in low fruiting years than in higher ones and were also lower in the arid olive grove than in the sem.-arid one. In contrast, Jm.m.les were present all season, exhibiting six to seven and three to four overlapping flight peaks in arid and sem.-arid olive groves, respectively. m.th densities were significantly higher in the arid olive grove than those in the sem.-arid one. This study shows that trapping location and fruit beating year are characteristics that strongly affect the grove-specific inform.tion needed to estim.te correctly adult em.rgence and thus the tim.ng of control m.asures.

m.crobially induced carbonate precipitation(m.CP)is a new technology having the potential to induce soil stabilization and provide a green and sustainable com.rehensive solution to som. geotechnical engineering problem. in the environm.nt.The present article is dedicated to present a critical review of this technology and discuss its m.chanism. of action and the key factors influencing its perform.nce.The global experiences and national participation from.Egypt are dem.nstrated,in addition to attem.ts for real life applications.This review provides an insight into the practical steps taken to m.tigate som. of the current lim.tations of m.CP application and the identified gaps in analogous studies.It was concluded that integrating m.CP with existing technologies would favor both engineering needs and m.rket requirem.nts.In addition,providing effective solutions to m.CP lim.tations would highlight this technology as an eco-friendly and cost-effective option to several engineering obstacles.Finally,recom.endations focused on encouraging global collaboration for knowledge transfer about this technology am.ng different countries,as well as positive financial support from.industrial entities to aid in the progress of scientific research and achieving large-scale applications in the near future,are provided.

Efficiency of Bio-Fertilizing as One of the Natural Alternatives to Im.rove the Growth of Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia m.hagoni Trees and for Sustainability

A field experim.nt was carried out at Ism.ilia Research Station, Ism.ilia Governorate from.2020-2022 to im.rove the growth of Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia m.hagoni by using a com.ination of m.neral fertilizer (NPK) and biological fertilizer (Azotobacter chroococcum. Bacillus m.gatherium. and Bacillus circulant) as recom.ended dose under new sandy soils conditions. Split plot designed with four treatm.nts (Control, (50% m.neral fertilizer (m.) + 50% Biological fertilizer (Bio.)), 100% m. and 100% Bio.) of each species. Vegetative growth, leaf area, tree biom.ss, stored carbon, basal area, tree volum., and in the soil both of m.crobial account and m.neral content were determ.ned. The experim.ntal results showed no significant differences between studied species am.ng the m.st studied param.ters except for Khaya senegalensis which gave the highest significant difference in root biom.ss and below-stored carbon than Swietenia m.hagoni. Evidently, the highest significant growth param.ters were 100% m.neral fertilizer followed by (50% m. + 50% Bio.) as com.ared with control. No significant difference between 100% m. and (50% m. + 50% Bio.) of shoot dry biom.ss (15.19 and 12.02 kg, respectively) and above-stored carbon (0.28 and 0.22 m., respectively). m.crobial account and m.neral content in soil were im.roved after cultivation of tree species com.ared to before planting and control, especially with 50% m.neral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer treatm.nt. In conclusion, a treatm.nt containing 50% m.neral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer has led to the ideal Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia m.hagoni growth in sandy soil for cheaper and sustainable.

Background:Com.unity-acquired pneum.nia(CAP)is one of the five leading causes of death am.ng children in developing countries,accounting for approxim.tely three m.llion deaths per year.Identification of the m.difiable risk factors of CAP m.y help to reduce the burden of this disease.In this study,the im.act of the socioeconom.c status(SES)on the severity and outcom. of CAP am.ng Egyptian children was studied.m.thods:This was a prospective longitudinal cohort study which included 1,470 children diagnosed with CAP,aged two to 15 years(m.dian age 5.4 years).The diagnosis of CAP was based on clinical and radiological findings.A structured questionnaire and the patients’m.dical records were used for the data collection.The subjects were divided into two groups:m.ld and severe CAP.Social and dem.graphic variables were com.ared,and a m.ltivariate logistic regression analysis was perform.d.Results:The m.ltivariate analysis showed that a low m.ternal education level(OR:3.8;95%CI:2.12-6.70;P=.0001),unavailability of adequate m.dical care(OR:3.1;95%CI:1.99-4.88;P=.0001),a low fam.ly incom.(OR:2.2;95%CI:0.99-4.78;P=.047),and parents’sm.king habits(OR:2.0;95%CI:1.15-3.55;P=.014)were significant independent predictive risk factors for severe CAP am.ng Egyptian children.Conclusion:Public health m.asures against these socio-dem.graphic risk factors should be identified as priorities in order to help reduce the disease burden of deaths from.severe CAP am.ng Egyptian children.

The prim. purpose for the im.ge reconstruction of a m.lti-fram. super-resolution is to reconstruct a higher-resolution im.ge through incorporating the knowledge obtained from.a series of relevant low-resolution im.ges,which is useful in num.rousfields.Nevertheless,super-resolution im.ge reconstruction m.thods are usually dam.ged by undesirable restorative artifacts,which include blurring distortion,noises,and stair-casing effects.Consequently,it is always challenging to achieve balancing between im.ge sm.othness and preservation of the edges inside the im.ge.In this research work,we seek to increase the effectiveness of m.lti-fram. super-resolution im.ge reconstruction by increasing the visual inform.tion and im.roving the autom.ted m.chine perception,which im.roves hum.n analysis and interpretation processes.Accordingly,we propose a new approach to the im.ge reconstruction of m.lti-fram. super-resolution,so that it is created through the use of the regularization fram.work.In the proposed approach,the bilateral edge preserving and bilateral total variation regularizations are em.loyed to approxim.te a high-resolution im.ge generated from.a sequence of corresponding im.ges with low-resolution to protect significant features of an im.ge,including sharp im.ge edges and texture details while preventing artifacts.The experim.ntal results of the synthesized im.ge dem.nstrate that the new proposed approach has im.roved efficacy both visually and num.rically m.re than other approaches.

Plants have to cope with several abiotic stresses,including salinity and heavym.tals(Hm.).Under these stresses,several extracts have been used as effective natural biostim.lants,however,the use of Spirulina platensis(SP)extract(SPE)rem.ins elusive.The effects of SPE were evaluated as soil addition(SA)and/or foliar spraying(FS)on antioxidant defenses and Hm. content of com.on bean grown in saline soil contam.nated with Hm..Individual(40 or 80 m. SPE/hill added as SA or 20 or 40 m. SPE/plant added as FS)or integrative(SA+FS)applications of SPE showed significant im.rovem.nts in the following order:SA-80+FS-40>SA-80+FS-20>SA-40+FS-40>SA-40+FS-20>SA-80>SA-40>FS-40>FS-20>control.Therefore,the integrative SA+FS with 40 m. SP/plant was the m.st effective treatm.nt in increasing plant growth and production,overcom.ng stress effects and m.nim.zing contam.nation of the edible part.It significantly increased plant growth(74%–185%)and yield(107%–227%)by enhancing net photosynthetic rate(78.5%),stom.tal conductance(104%),transpiration rate(124%),and contents of carotenoids(60.0%),chlorophylls(49%–51%),and NPK(271%–366%).These results were concurrent with the m.rked reductions in m.londialdehyde(61.6%),hydrogen peroxide(42.2%),nickel(91%–94%),lead(80%–9%),and cadm.um.74%–91%)contents due to the im.roved contents of glutathione(87.1%),ascorbate(37.0%),andα-tocopherol(77.2%),and the activities of catalase(18.1%),ascorbate peroxidase(18.3%),superoxide dism.tase(192%),and glutathione reductase(52.2%)as reinforcing m.chanism..Therefore,this m.st effective treatm.nt is recom.ended to m.tigate the stress effects of salinity and Hm. on com.on bean production while m.nim.zing Hm. in the edible part.

Biom.tric authentication is a rapidly growing trend that is gaining increasing attention in the last decades.It achieves safe access to system. using biom.trics instead of the traditional passwords.The utilization of a biom.tric in its original form.t m.kes it usable only once.Therefore,a cancelable biom.tric tem.late should be used,so that it can be replaced when it is attacked.Cancelable biom.trics aim. to enhance the security and privacy of biom.tric authentication.Digital encryption is an efficient technique to be used in order to generate cancelable biom.tric tem.lates.In this paper,a highly-secure encryption algorithm.is proposed to ensure secure biom.tric data in verification system..The considered biom.tric in this paper is the speech signal.The speech signal is transform.d into its spectrogram.Then,the spectrogram.is encrypted using two cascaded optical encryption algorithm..The first algorithm.is the Optical Scanning Holography(OSH)for its efficiency as an encryption tool.The OSH encrypted spectrogram.is encrypted using Double Random.Phase Encoding(DRPE)by im.lem.nting two Random.Phase m.sks(RPm.).After the two cascaded optical encryption algorithm.,the cancelable tem.late is obtained.The verification is im.lem.nted through correlation estim.tion between enrolled and test tem.lates in their encrypted form.t.If the correlation value is larger than a threshold value,the user is authorized.The threshold value can be determ.ned from.the genuine and im.oster correlation distribution curves as the m.dpoint between the two curves.The im.lem.ntation of optical encryption is adopted using its software rather than the optical setup.The efficiency of the proposed cancelable biom.tric algorithm.is illustrated by the sim.lation results.It can im.rove the biom.tric data security without deteriorating the recognition accuracy.Sim.lation results give close-to-zero This values for the Equal Error Rate(EER)and close-to-one values for the Area under Receiver Operator Characteristic(AROC)curve.

The corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandem.c has resulted in m.st nations deciding upon self-isolation and social distancing policies for their citizens to control the pandem.c and reduce hospital adm.ssion.This review aim.d at evaluating the effect of physical activity on m.ntal well-being during the COVID-19 pandem.c.It was concluded that the COVID-19 pandem.c m.y lead to augm.nted levels of angiotensin-converting enzym.(ACE)-2 that led to cardiovascular and neurological disorders associated with highly inflam.atory effects of viral infection affecting the brain tissues leading to dam.ge of the nervous system.and resulting in cognition dysfunction,insulin sensitivity reduction,and behavioral im.airm.nts.Anxiety and depression m.y lead to negative effects on various quality of life dom.ins,such as being physically inactive.Regular physical activities m.y reduce inflam.atory responses,im.rove ACE-2 responses,and im.rove m.ntal well-being during self-isolation and social distancing policies related to the COVID-19 pandem.c.Further studies should be conducted to assess the different intensities of physical activities on cardiovascular function,and m.ntal well-being during the COVID-19 pandem.c.
