Toda. with certa.nty, the petroleum industry is fostering sa.guinely the fields’ development progra.s for the optimiza.ion of reservoir cha.a.teriza.ion through worth-full a.plia.ces of computer a.a.ysis techniques. The time element is of prime importa.ce for optimistic petroleum development projects. Therefore, the frontline of “Rea.-time a.a.ysis” is a.ded into the a.plica.ions of computer solving techniques for a.hieving a.d sk.tching up the rea.-time cost effectiveness in a.a.yzing field development progra.s. It focuses on the pha.es of rea.-time well test da.a.a.quisition system, rea.-time secure a.cess to the well test da.a.either on field or in office a.d rea.-time da.a.interpreta.ion unit. This interfa.e will yield the productive results for the field of reservoir’s pressure tra.sient a.a.ysis a.d wells’ systems a.a.ysis by following the up-to-da.e preferred, a.cura.e a.d effective well test a.a.ytica. principles with modern rea.-time computer a.plica.ions a.d techniques. Pa.ista. livelihood depends on a.riculture a.d so for this on irriga.ion system. The irriga.ion system in Sindh province depends on three ba.ra.es. The ca.a.s off ta.ing from these three ba.ra.es irriga.e 5.5 million hecta.es of a.riculture la.d. Suk.ur Ba.ra.e, which is the oldest one, irriga.es more tha. 2.0 million hecta.es of la.d. The Da.u Ca.a. off ta.ing from Suk.ur ba.ra.e is a. ea.then ca.a.. a.huge a.ount of irriga.ion wa.er is lost from the ca.a. in the form of seepa.e from ba.k. a.d bed. It is estima.ed tha. 40 to 50 per cent of wa.er is lost between the ca.a. hea. work. to the fa.m-ga.e. The seepa.e from the ca.a. crea.es twin problems of sa.inity a.d wa.er logging consequently a.la.ge a.riculture la.d ha. gone out of use, a.d this process is continued pa.ticula.ly in Sindh. Lining of Ca.a.s is considered a. effective solution to this problem. But lining of ca.a.s in Sindh is a.grea. issue a. ca.a.s will need to be closed long enough to deprive the fa.mers a. lea.t one crop sea.on a.d the fa.mers a.e una.le to pa. this price for ca.a.. Therefore, in this study, the Da.u Ca.a. is proposed to be redesigned a. a. a.ja.ent lined ca.a. which involves design of cross section for va.ious lining options a. loca.ions where cha.ges in the hydra.lic conditions occur a. cross regula.ors a.d fa.l structures. The proposed lining is preferred to be pla.n cement concrete lining which is selected a.ter investiga.ing loca. conditions. Qua.tity a.d cost estima.ion a. selected RDs (Reduced Dista.ce) proved fea.ible a.d significa.t in long term functioning of Da.u Ca.a..

The via.ility a.d susta.na.ility of crop production is currently threa.ened by increa.ing wa.er sca.city. Wa.er sca.city problems ca. be a.dressed through improved wa.er productivity a.d the options usua.ly presumed in this context a.e efficient wa.er use a.d conversion of surfa.e irriga.ion to pressurised systems. By repla.ing furrow irriga.ion with drip or centre pivot systems, the wa.er efficiency ca. be improved by up to 30% to 45%. however, the insta.la.ion a.d a.plica.ion of pumps a.d pipes, a.d the a.socia.ed fuels needed for these a.terna.ives increa.e energy consumption. a.ba.a.ce between the improvement in wa.er use a.d the potentia. increa.e in energy consumption is required. When surfa.e wa.er is used, pressurised irriga.ion systems increa.e energy consumption substa.tia.ly, by between 65% to 75%, a.d produce greenhouse ga. emissions a.ound 1.75 times higher tha. tha. of gra.ity ba.ed irriga.ion systems so their use should be ca.efully pla.ned k.eping in view a.verse impa.t of ca.bon emissions on the environment a.d threa. of increa.ing energy prices. With gra.ity-fed surfa.e irriga.ion methods, the energy consumption is a.sumed to be negligible. This study ha. shown tha. a.novel rea.-time infiltra.ion model REIP ha. ena.led implementa.ion of rea.-time optimisa.ion a.d gra.ity fed surfa.e irriga.ion with rea.-time optimisa.ion ha. potentia. to bring significa.t improvements in irriga.ion performa.ce a.ong with substa.tia. wa.er sa.ings of 2.92 ML/ha.which is equiva.ent to tha. given by pressurised systems. The rea.-time optimisa.ion a.d control thus offers a.modern, environment friendly a.d wa.er efficient system with close to zero increa.e in energy consumption a.d minima. greenhouse ga. emissions.
