Soil organic carbon （SOC） sequestration is one of the major agricultural strategies to mitigate greenhouse gas （GHG） emissions, enhance food security, and improve agricultural sustainability. This paper synthesizes the much-needed state- of-knowledge on the effects of tillage, crop residue, and nutrient management practices on SOC sequestration and identifies potential research gap, opportunities, and challenges in studying SOC dynamics in rice （Oryza sativa L.）-based cropping systems in South Asia, mainly in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Improved management prac- tices such as reduced- and no-tillage management, nitrogen （N） fertilizer and farmyard manure （FYM） application, and crop residue addition can improve SOC accumulation. Positive effects of no-tillage, crop residue addition, N addition through manure or compost application, and integration of organic and chemical fertilizers on SOC accumulation in rice-based cropping systems have been documented from South Asia. However, limited data and enormous discrepancies in SOC measurements across the region exist as the greatest challenge in increasing SOC sequestration and improving agricultural sustainability. More research on SOC as influenced by alternative tillage, crop residue, and nutrient management systems, and development of SOC monitoring system for existing long-term experiments will advance our understanding of the SOC dynamics in rice-based cropping systems and improve agricultural system sustainability in South Asia.

We propose an approach to detect the temporary faults induced by an environmental phenomenon called single event upset(SEU). Berger code based self-checking checkers provides an online detection of faults in digital circuits as well as in memory arrays. In this work, a concurrent Berger code based online self-testable architecture is proposed and integrated in 32-bit DLX reduced instruction set computer(RISC) processor on a single silicon chip. The proposed concurrent test methodology is implemented and verified for various arithmetic and logical operations of the DLX processor. The FPGA implementation of the proposed design shows that a meager increase in hardware utilization facilitates online self-testing to detect temporary faults.

This work provides a comprehensive theoretical analysis of MHD unsteady free convection viscoelastic fluid flow through a porous medium. The medium is treated as incompressible and optically transparent. The flow of the fluid is initiated by shearing action of the moving wall with time dependent suction. Radiative heat flow is considered in temperature equation. The coupled nonlinear problem has been solved asymptotically. Approximate solutions have been obtained for the mean velocity, mean temperature using multi parameter perturbation technique. The originality of the present study is to investigate the effect of viscoelastic property of the fluid（Walters B？ model） on the flow and heat transfer phenomena when the flow is permeated through a porous medium with uniform porous matrix subject to transverse magnetic field and time dependent fluctuative suction at the boundary surface. The case of viscous flow has been discussed as a particular case on comparison with the result reported earlier and it is in good agreement. Flow reversal is indicated incase of viscoelastic fluid with high heat capacity in the presence of magnetic field. The higher cooling of the plate in case of viscoelastic flow also causes a flow reversal.

The present study examines scour geometry and turbulent flow characteristics around circular and oblong piers in alluvial channel with downward *** were conducted in plane sand bed of non-uniform sand under no seepage,10%seepage and 15%seepage *** depth at oblong pier is significantly lesser than the scour depth at circular ***,the scour depth at both piers reduces with downward *** measurements show that the velocity and Reynolds stresses are negative near the bed at upstream of piers where the strong reversal *** downstream of oblong pier near the free surface,velocity and Reynolds stresses are less positive;whereas,they are negative at downstream of circular *** streamline shape of oblong pier leads to reduce the strength of wake vortices and consequently reversal flow at downstream of *** application of downward seepage turbulent kinetic energy is *** results show that the wake vortices at oblong pier are weaker than the wake vortices at circular *** strength of wake vortices diminishes with downward *** Strouhal number is lesser for oblong pier and decreases with downward seepage for both oblong and circular piers.

Background:Lung cancer is the most common cancer related death in the world for the both male and female as *** is the most common pathological type which is in increasing *** recent advancement of screening of lung cancer with HRCT,GGO lesion has been noted *** is a nonspecific finding that may be caused by various disorders,including inflammatory diseases,focal fibrosis,atypical adenomatous hyperplasia,bronchoalveolar carcinoma(BAC),and *** study intends to analyze the correlation between high resolutions computed tomography(HRCT)findings and the pathological findings of lung *** and methods:Retrospective review of 16 cases of lung adenocarcinoma lesions after surgical *** were defined as air containing type based on ratio of maximum dimension of the tumor on mediastinal window to the maximum diameter of the tumor on lung window was≤50%and as solid density if the ratio was>50%.The correlation between CT findings(homogenous/heterogeneous,airbronchogram,pleural tag,speculation,vascular involvement,pleural thickening,margin,shape)and pathological findings were ***:Of 3 air containing 2 were pre-invasive type and 1 was *** 13 solid density type all 13 were invasive *** of speculation,heterogeneous appearance was found significantly associated with pathological ***:Air containing type of small cells lung adenocarcinomas are preinvasive whereas solid densities are *** and heterogeneous are significant factor in invasive adenocarcinoma.
