Use of methylation filtration and Cot fractionation for analysis of genome composition and comparative genomics in bread wheat

We investigated the compositional and structural differences in sequences derived from different fractions of wheat genomic DNA obtained using methylation filtration and Cot fractionation. Comparative analysis of these sequences revealed large compositional and structural variations in terms of GC content, different structural elements including repeat sequences （e.g., transposable elements and simple sequence repeats）, protein coding genes, and non-coding RNA genes. A correlation between methylation status [determined on the basis of selective inclusion/ exclusion in methylation-filtered （MF） library] of different repeat elements and expression level was observed. The expression levels were determined by comparing MF sequences with expressed sequence tags （ESTs） available in the public domain. Only a limited overlap among ME high Cot （HC）, and ESTs was observed, suggesting that these sequences may largely either represent the low-copy non-transcribed sequences or include genes with low expression levels. Thus, these results indicated a need to study MF and HC sequences along with ESTs to fully appreciate complexity of wheat gene space.

The Placement of Esophageal Stents in Different Esophageal Disease Related Conditions—A Review

In the past, the esophagus diseases causing the patient to unable to intake oral diet such as esophageal strictures, leaks, tracheoesophageal fistulas, etc. were managed by surgical interventions and parenteral nutrition to meet the demand of the body. After the development of technique of stent placement in esopahgus, there was revolutionary change in the management of such conditions promoting patients to take diet orally and improve their nutritional status as well as quality of life. Different types of commercial stents are available in the market with their own pros and cons. Our aim of this study was to review the different stents being used currently in the clinical practice, comparing the stents on their therapeutic outcome and complications, optimal timing of removal of stents for benign conditions and the methods studied by different clinicians to lower the rate of complications and reinterventions.

Quality of life(QoL) is a vital and often required health outcome measure that is relevant to patient care. A healthy oral cavity enables person to perform daily activities without any limitations. However, any disturbance may result in impaired QoL. The oral health-remains an essential element of people's health and well-being. In recent years, the tradition of clinical practice and research has been changed by incorporating QoL assessment, as it helps in assessment of patients' needs and monitoring treatment responses. Oral potentially malignant disorders(OPMDs) are a group of chronic disorders including oral leukoplakia(OL), oral lichen planus and oral submucous fibrosis(OSF). It is evident that patients with OPMDs experience significant health-related symptoms, functional limitations and psycho-social impairment, compromising their Qo L. Moreover, the worsening of Qo L has been associated with advanced stages of OPMDs. Despite of increasing number of OPMD cases in recent decades, limited literature is available regarding QoL in this population. Although, there is higher prevalence of habit-related OPMDs, particularly OSF and OL in Southern Asian countries, only a few studies have been performed in these populations. Moreover, these studies administered generic Qo L instruments, which offer less sensitivity to clinical changes. However, condition-specific instruments are more sensitive and allows better measurement of QoL. As the impacts of different conditions on OHRQoL may vary, the development and validation of a QoL instrument specific to each clinical entity of OPMDs is currently needed.

Mitocans as Novel Agents for Anticancer Therapy: An Overview

Many conventional anticancer drugs have an associated lack of safety by their toxicity. Relatively faster mutations in tumor cells pose a significant obstacle in treatment of cancer. Recently, “Mitocans” have emerged as a novel class of anticancer agents selectively targeting tumor cells and thus, are much less toxic than conventional anticancer chemotherapeutic agents. Mitocans are drugs that act directly on mitochondria within the cell, thus causing changes in energy metabolism of the cell. Amongst these mitocans, α-Tocopheryl succinate or vitamin E analogs are studied very well by researchers. This review discusses mitochondrial drug targeting strategies and a variety of novel mitochondrial drug targets of mitocans, such as electron transport chain, mitochondrial permeability transition, Bcl-2 family proteins and mitochondrial DNA. The purpose of this review is to focus on the various classes of mitocans, the mechanisms by which these drugs specifically act on tumor cells and their applications in cancer chemotherapeutics.

Fake reviews,also known as deceptive opinions,are used to mislead people and have gained more importance *** is due to the rapid increase in online marketing transactions,such as selling and purchasing.E-commerce provides a facility for customers to post reviews and comment about the product or service when *** customers usually go through the posted reviews or comments on the website before making a purchase ***,the current challenge is how new individuals can distinguish truthful reviews from fake ones,which later deceives customers,inflicts losses,and tarnishes the reputation of *** present paper attempts to develop an intelligent system that can detect fake reviews on ecommerce platforms using n-grams of the review text and sentiment scores given by the *** proposed methodology adopted in this study used a standard fake hotel review dataset for experimenting and data preprocessing methods and a term frequency-Inverse document frequency(TF-IDF)approach for extracting features and their *** detection and classification,n-grams of review texts were inputted into the constructed models to be classified as fake or ***,the experiments were carried out using four different supervised machine-learning techniques and were trained and tested on a dataset collected from the Trip Advisor *** classification results of these experiments showed that na飗e Bayes(NB),support vector machine(SVM),adaptive boosting(AB),and random forest(RF)received 88%,93%,94%,and 95%,respectively,based on testing accuracy and tje *** obtained results were compared with existing works that used the same dataset,and the proposed methods outperformed the comparable methods in terms of accuracy.

Herein,we report the synthesis of Zn_(0.7)Mg_(0.3)Nd_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4)(where,x=0,0,0,01,0,02)ferrite nanoparticles by employing the sol-gel auto-combustion *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)pattern suggests the formation of a pure cubic structure,without any impurity phase,with an Fd3m space group at room *** increasing doping amount,the crystallite size is reported as 35-41 nm,while the lattice parameters rise from 0.8381 to 0.8395 *** emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM)images show the formation of spherical grains with agglomerated morphology in all the samples,with grain sizes ranging from 49 to 103 *** dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX)and elemental mapping investigation confirm the chemical purity of all the *** transform infrared(FTIR)analysis shows the presence of two prominent peaks around 440 and 560 cm^(-1)that correspond to the octahedral and tetrahedral *** addition,the existence of five Raman active vibratio nal modes in all produced specimens again confirms the structural purity of all the *** M-H curve shows that saturation magnetization(M_(s))first increases from 14.98 to 28.22 emu/g and then decreases to 18.98emu/g with increasing doping *** is due to the A-B type super-exchange interaction for the synthesized *** variation in coercivity(H_(c))and magnetic anisotropy(K_(1))suggest the thermal stability of all the samples and can be utilized in transformers and solenoids.

This paper gives a statistical view about important contributions and advances on semiconductor metal oxide （SMO） compounds based gas sensors developed to detect the air pollutants such as liquefied petroleum gas （LPG）, H2S, NH3, CO2, acetone, ethanol, other volatile compounds and hazardous gases. Moreover, it is revealed that the alloy/composite made up of SMO gas sensors show better gas response than their counterpart single component gas sensors, i.e., they are found to enhance the 4S characteristics namely speed, sensitivity, selectivity and stability. Improvement of such types of sensors used for detection of various air pollutants, which are reported in last two decades, is highlighted herein.
