Model predictive control is model-based. Therefore, the procedure is inherently not robust to modelling uncertainties. Further, a crucial design parameter is the prediction horizon. Only offline procedures to estimate an upper bound of the optimal value of this parameter are available. These procedures are computationally intensive and model-based. Besides, a single choice of this horizon is perhaps not the best option at all time instants. This is especially true when the control objective is to track desired trajectories. In this paper, we resolve the issue by a time-varying horizon achieved by switching between multiple model-predictive controllers. The stability of the overall system is discussed. In addition, an introduction of multiple models to handle modelling uncertainties makes the overall system robust. The improvement in performance is demonstrated through several examples.

Using the variational method, we study the properties of a spin-down impurity immersed in a onedimensional(1 D) spin-up Fermi sea. With repulsive interactions between them, the impurity is dressed up by surrounding particles in Fermi sea and forms a polaron. We clearly calculate the binding energy, effective mass, momentum distribution, Tan contact, and pair correlation. Even in strong repulsive regimes, the results can agree with the exact Bethe Ansatz results. The repulsive polaron energy E+ is below Fermi energy EF and no negative effective masses are found in whole interaction regimes, unequal masses polarons are also calculated. We show a clear momentum distribution and calculate the Tan contact from three different aspects. Furthermore, we explore the particle-hole excitation and find that the hole terms in Fermi sea have a great influence on the polaron energy and contact in repulsive regime. These results show that the variational method can still be used effectively in 1 D repulsive polaron system.

The physical principles of natural occurrences are frequently examined using nonlinear evolution equa-tions(NLEEs).Nonlinear equations are intensively investigated in mathematical physics,ocean physics,scientific applications,and marine *** paper investigates the Boiti-Leon-Manna-Pempinelli(BLMP)equation in(3+1)-dimensions,which describes fluid propagation and can be considered as a non-linear complex physical model for incompressible fluids in plasma *** four-dimensional BLMP equation is certainly a dynamical nonlinear evolution equation in real-world ***,we im-plement the generalized exponential rational function(GERF)method and the generalized Kudryashov method to obtain the exact closed-form solutions of the considered BLMP equation and construct novel solitary wave solutions,including hyperbolic and trigonometric functions,and exponential rational func-tions with arbitrary constant *** two efficient methods are applied to extracting solitary wave solutions,dark-bright solitons,singular solitons,combo singular solitons,periodic wave solutions,singular bell-shaped solitons,kink-shaped solitons,and rational form *** three-dimensional graphics of obtained exact analytic solutions are presented by considering the suitable choice of involved free ***,the established results verify the capability,efficiency,and trustworthiness of the implemented *** techniques are effective,authentic,and straightforward mathematical tools for obtaining closed-form solutions to nonlinear partial differential equations(NLPDEs)arising in nonlinear sciences,plasma physics,and fluid dynamics.

This paper systematically investigates the exact solutions to an extended(2+1)-dimensional Boussinesq equation,which arises in several physical applications,including the propagation of shallow-water waves,with the help of the Lie symmetry analysis *** acquired the vector fields,commutation relations,optimal systems,two stages of reductions,and exact solutions to the given equation by taking advantage of the Lie group *** method plays a crucial role to reduce the number of independent variables by one in each stage and finally forms an ODE which is solved by taking relevant suppositions and choosing the arbitrary constants that appear ***,Lie symmetry analysis(LSA)is implemented for perceiving the symmetries of the Boussinesq equation and then culminating the solitary wave *** behavior of the obtained results for multiple cases of symmetries is obtained in the present framework and demonstrated through three-and two-dimensional dynamical wave *** solutions show single soliton,multiple solitons,elastic behavior of combo soliton profiles,and stationary waves,as can be seen from the *** outcomes of the present investigation manifest that the considered scheme is systematic and significant to solve nonlinear evolution equations.

In the present study,actual three-dimensional structures are converted into a stick model of multi degree of-freedom(MDOF)systems for understanding the macro-behavior of *** study investigates the performance of three closely spaced,adjacent G+10,fixed-base MDOF systems with the mass aligned at the same levels and subjected to accidental underground blast *** acceleration time history of underground blast loading is generated based on past empirical *** blast charge weight varies from 10 to 75 t while keeping the charge distance constant(R=100 m).The entire formulation is solved with the MATLAB solver,using the state space form *** cases are considered,based on changing the position of the three stick *** first case considered left building rigid,middle building moderate rigid,and right building *** second assumed left building flexible,middle building rigid,and right building moderate *** third examined the left building as moderate rigid,the middle building as flexible,and the right building *** analysis of the results shows that the arrangement with low stiffness,high stiffness,and moderately stiff buildings placed to the left,middle,and right side,respectively,yields minimum structural response when compared to the other two combinations.

Cancer belongs to the class of discascs which is symbolized by out of control cells *** cells affect DNAs and damage *** exist many treatments avail-able in medical science as radiation therapy,targeted therapy,surgery,palliative care and *** is one of the most popular treatments which depends on the type,location and grade of *** this paper,we are working on modeling and prediction of the effect of chemotherapy on cancer cells using a fractional differen-tial equation by using the differential operator in Caputos *** presented model depicts the interaction between tumor,norrnal and immune cells in a tumor by using a system of four coupled fractional partial differential equations(PDEs).For this system,initial conditions of tumor cells and dimensions are taken in such a way that tumor is spread out enough in size and can be detected easily with the clinical *** operational matrix method with Genocchi polynomials is applied to study this system of fractional PDFs(FPDEs).An operational matrix for *** differentiation is *** the collocation method and using this matrix,the nonlinear system is reduced to a system of algebraic equations,which can be solved using Newton iteration *** salient features of this paper are the pictorial presentations of the numerical solution of the concerned equation for different particular cases to show the effect of fractional exponent on diffusive nature of immune cells,tumor cells,normal cells and chemother-apeutic drug and depict the interaction among immune cells,normal cells and tumor cells in a tumor site.
