SAS and other popular statistical packages provide support for survey data with sampling weights. For example, PROC MeANS and PROC LOGISTIC in SAS have their counterparts PROC SURVeYMeANS and PROC SURVeYLOGISTIC to facilitate analysis of data from complex survey studies. On the other hand, PROC MeANS and many other classic SAS procedures also provide an option for including weights and yield identical point estimates, but different standard errors (Ses), as their corresponding survey procedures. This paper takes an in-depth look at different types of weights and provides guidance on use of different SAS procedures.

Background:The milk fat globule membrane(MFGM)proteomes of colostrum and transition milk are rich sources of proteins that are likely important for neonatal calf *** addition,characterization of these proteomes could also yield valuable information regarding mammary gland physiology of the early postpartum lactating *** objectives of this research were to characterize the MFGM proteomes of colostrum and transition milk through sample collections at four timepoints postpartum,including the first milking(M1,colostrum),second milking(M2,transition milk),fourth milking(M4,transition milk),and fourteenth milking(M14,mature milk),and compare these proteomes between multiparous(MP;n=10)and primiparous(PP;n=10)Holstein dairy *** MFGM proteins were labeled using Tandem Mass tagging and analyzed using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS).Protein identification was completed using MASCOT and Sequest in Proteome Discoverer *** scaled abundance values were analyzed using PROC MIXeD in SAS to determine the effects of milking(MIL),parity(PAR),and MIL×*** adaptive false-discovery rate(FDR)-adjusted P values were determined using PROC *** characterization and bioinformatic analysis were completed using a combination of PANTHeR,Blast,and ***:A total of 104 common proteins were identified in each of the MFGM *** analysis revealed that 70.2%of identified proteins were affected by *** these,78.1%were lower in M14 compared with M1,including immune-related proteins lactotransferrin,lactadherin and *** affected 44.2%of *** the proteins affected by PAR,84.8%were higher in MP cows compared with PP cows,including apolipoprotein e and histones 2A,2B,3,and 4 *** subfamily 1 member 1A and annexin 5 were higher in samples from PP ***×parity affected 32.7%of identified proteins,including lactotransferrin,gelsolin,vitamin D binding protein,and S100 ***

Ovarian cancer remains a major issue for gynecological oncologists, and most patients are diagnosed when the disease is already advanced with a poor chance of survival. Debulking surgery followed by platinum-taxane chemotherapy is the current standard of care, but based on several different strategies currently under evaluation, some encouraging data have been published in the last 4 to 5 years. This review provides a state-of-the-art overview of the available alternatives to conventional treatment and the most promising new combinations. For example, neoadjuvant chemotherapy does not seem to be inferior to primary debulking. Despite its outcome improvements, intraperitoneal chemotherapy struggles for acceptance due to the heavy toxicity. Dose-dense chemotherapy, after showing an impressive efficacy in Asian populations, has not produced equal results in a european cohort, and the results of alternative platinum doublets are not superior to those of carboplatin and paclitaxel. In this setting, adherence to a maintenance therapy after first-line treatment and multiple(primarily antiangiogenic) agents appears to be effective. Although many questions, including the duration of maintenance treatment and the use of bevacizumab beyond progression, remain unanswered, new biologic agents, such as poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP) inhibitors, nintedanib, and mitogen-activated protein/extracellular signal-regulated kinase(MeK) inhibitors, have emerged as potential therapeutic options in the very near future. Based on the multiplicity of available strategies, the histological and molecular features of the tumor, in addition to patient's clinical condition and disease state, continue to gain importance in guiding treatment choices.

Flavescence dorée(FD)is a destructive phytoplasma disease of european *** and cultivardependent recovery(ReC)may occur in the field in FD-infected vines starting the year following the first ***,the biological underpinnings of this process are still largely *** this study,transcriptome sequencing(RNAseq),whole-genome bisulphite sequencing(WGBS)and metabolite analysis were combined to dissect molecular and metabolic changes associated to FD and ReC in leaf veins collected in the field from healthy(H),FD and ReC plants of the highly susceptible Vitis vinifera‘Barbera’.Genes involved in flavonoid biosynthesis,carbohydrate metabolism and stress responses were overexpressed in FD conditions,whereas transcripts linked to hormone and stilbene metabolisms were upregulated in ReC *** patterns of abscisic acid and stilbenoid compounds analysed in the same samples confirmed the RNAseq *** recovery conditions,we also observed the persistence of some FD-induced expression changes concerning inhibition of photosynthetic processes and stress *** differentially expressed genes tied to those pathways also underwent post-transcriptional regulation by microRNAs,as outlined by merging our transcriptomic data set with a previously conducted smallRNAseq *** by WGBS analysis also revealed different DNA methylation marks between ReC and H leaves,occurring within the promoters of genes tied to photosynthesis and secondary *** results allowed us to advance the existence of a“molecular memory”of FDp infection,involving alterations in the DNA methylation status of ReC plants potentially related to transcriptional reprogramming events,in turn triggering changes in hormonal and secondary metabolite profiles.
