Nowadays,due to the increase in information resources,the number of parameters and complexity of feature vectors *** offermore practical solutions instead of exact solutions for the solution of this *** Emperor PenguinOptimizer(EPO)is one of the highest performing meta-heuristic algorithms of recent times that imposed the gathering behavior of emperor *** shows the superiority of its performance over a wide range of optimization problems thanks to its equal chance to each penguin and its fast convergence *** traditional EPO overcomes the optimization problems in continuous search space,many problems today shift to the binary search ***,in this study,using the power of traditional EPO,binary EPO(BEPO)is presented for the effective solution of binary-nature *** algorithm uses binary search space instead of searching solutions like conventional EPO algorithm in continuous search *** this purpose,the sigmoidal functions are preferred in determining the emperor *** addition,the boundaries of the search space remain constant by choosing binary ***’s performance is evaluated over twenty-nine benchmarking *** evaluations are made to reveal the superiority of the BEPO *** addition,the performance of the BEPO algorithm was evaluated for the binary feature selection *** experimental results reveal that the BEPO algorithm outperforms the existing binary meta-heuristic algorithms in both tasks.

Empirical Model for the Quantitative Prediction of Losses of Radial Fans based on CFD Calculations

In a classical layout process of a fan the quantity of losses is estimated as a sum and expressed in the overall efficiency rote However the characteristic of the pressure rise, the losses and the efficiency rate beside the design point is not known. Against this background a numerical model was developed to calculate quantitative values of occurring losses at radial fan impellers at an early stage in the design process. It allows to estimate the pressure rise and efficiency rate of a given fan geometry at and beside the design point. The physics of losses are described in literature, but obtaining quantitative values is still a challenge. As common in hydraulic theory the losses are calculated with analytic formulas supported by coefficients and efficiency rates, which have to be determined empirically. This paper shows the method how to determine the coefficients for a given radial fan. Therefore a representative radial fan with backward curved blades was designed in reference to classical design guidelines. Performance measuring was done conform to ISO 5801. The flow was calculated at 8 different operation points using CFD methods. The RANS equations are solved by using the SST-k-omega turbulence model. The flow do- main consists of one blade section including inlet channel and outflow chamber. Spatial discretization is done by a block-structured mesh of approx. 1.8 million cells. Performance data show a very good agreement between measurement and calculation.

A Novel Method to Improve the Electrochemical Performance of LiMn_2O_4 Cathode Active Material by CaCO_3 Surface Coating

Spinel LiMn204 was synthesized by glycine-nitrate method and coated with CaCO3 in order to enhance the electrochemical performance at room temperature （25℃） and 55℃. The uncoated and CaCO3-coated LiMn204 materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and electrochemical tests. XRD and SEM results indicated that CaCO3 particles encapsulated the surface of the LiMn204 without causing any structural change. The charge-discharge tests showed that the specific discharge capacity fade of pristine electrode at 25 and 55℃ were 25.5% and 52%, respectively. However, surface modified cathode shows 7.4% and 29.5% loss compared to initial specific discharge capacity at 70th cycle for 25 and 55~C, respectively. The improvement of electrochemical performance is attributed to suppression of Mn2＋ dissolution into electrolyte via CaCO3 layer.

Investigations on the Flow Field in an Unshrouded Pump Impeller Geometry

Transient CFD simulations are performed to investigate the flow behaviour inside an unshrouded pump using the SAS method. Two blade designs are compared at two different tip clearances and the results are validated by measurements. The detected vortex structure is visualized by the normalized helicity, further discussed regarding its development and behaviour and finally implicated to the efficiency of the two different blade designs.

Synthesis and Electrochemical Properties of Carbon-Mixed LiEr_(0.02)Fe_(0.98)PO_4 Cathode Material for Lithium-ion Batteries

LiEr0.02Fe0.98PO4/C composite cathode was synthesized by a simple solution method with polyethylene glycol （PEG） as the reductive agent and carbon source. The effect of erbium doping on the electrochemical behavior of LiFePO4 was studied in this paper. The samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy and the electrochemical properties were investigated by the charge-discharge test. An initial discharge capacity of 149 mAh.g-1 was achieved for the LiEr0.02Fe0.98PO4/C composite cathode with a rate of 0.1 C. The electronic conductivity of Er doped LiFePO4/C was measured as 10-2 ***-1. The results indicated that erbium doping did not destroy the lattice structure of LiFePO4 and enlarge the lattice volume. These changes are beneficial to the improvement of the electrochemical performance of the LiFePO4 cathode.

The power and voltage levels of renewable energy resources is growing with the evolution of the power electronics and switching module *** that,the need for the development of a compact and highly efficient solid-state transformer is becoming a critical task in-order to integrate the current AC grid with the new renewable energy *** objective of this paper is to present the design,implementation,and testing of a compact multi-port solid-state transformer for microgrid integration *** proposed system has a four-port transformer and four converters connected to the *** transformer has four windings integrated on a single common ***,it can integrate different renewable energy resources and energy storage *** port has a rated power of 25 kW,and the switching frequency is pushed to 50 k *** ports are chosen to represent a realistic industrial microgrid model consisting of grid,energy storage system,photovoltaic system,and *** grid port is designed to operate at 4.16 k VAC corresponding to 7.2 kV DC bus voltage,while the other three ports operate at 500 ***,the grid,energy storage and photovoltaic ports are active ports with dual active bridge topologies,while the load port is a passive port with full bridge rectifier *** proposed design is first validated with simulation results,and then the proposed transformer is implemented and *** results show that the designed system is suitable for 4.16 k VAC medium voltage grid integration.

The nose,centrally located on the face,plays a crucial role in facial *** imbalance in its length,width,tip position,or a gross deformity,such as dorsal hump and deviation,can significantly affect the overall facial harmony,which is thus a major concern for *** it comes to minor deformities,they have been treated with hyaluronic acid,toxin injection,and thread insertion since *** study has originally been carried out to review the published medical literature on the non-surgical techniques for Medical Nose Reshaping(MNR):a PubMed search was carried out in December 2020 using the search terms:“Nose[and]filler”,“Nose[and]botulinum toxin”and“Nose[and]thread”.A large number of studies were identified and reviewed,and it was found that rhinoplasty remains the gold standard to correct nose defects;nevertheless,MNR is gaining popularity due to its minimal invasiveness,short downtime,and the market availability of different injectables,toxins,and *** study aims to provide an evidence-based approach to guide the use of non-surgical techniques for MNR by reviewing published medical literature and drawing on the authors’experience.

Human cyclosporiosis in Turkey

Six patients infected with Cydospora cayetanensis who sought medical care at three different hospitals in Turkey are herein *** patients were male and the others were female and their ages ranged from 7 to 62 *** first patient was HIV-positive and presented with watery diarrhea with a frequency of up to 18 times a day for more than ten months and diagnosed as cyclosporiosis in Kayseri,1996. The second patient was also HIV positive and diagnosed as cyclosporiosis in Kayseri,*** third patient was an acute myeloblastic leukemia(AML)patient and diagnosed in Istanbul,*** fourth patient was idiopathic hepatic cirrhosis complaining of diarrhea and weakness and diagnosed in Kayseri,*** fifth and sixth patients were immunocompetent patients complaining of diarrhea and diagnosed in Izmir and Kayseri,*** occurring from one to ten times a day conlJnued for 7 to 70 d in the last 5 *** with a trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole compound was done for all *** symptomatic and parasitologic improvements were quickly *** summary,*** infection is rare in Turkey and most patients infected with this pathogen tend to be immunosuppressive individuals at present.
