Mathematical model to predict COVID-19 mortality rate

Objective:Covid-19 is a highly contagious viral infection that has recently become a *** the beginning of the pandemic,the disease has affected millions of people and taken many people's *** purpose of this paper is to predict and compare the number of cases and mortality rate due to Covid-19 every quarter in 2020 and 2021 in three countries:Iran,the United States,and South *** and methods:The data of this study include the mortality rate of different countries of the world due to Covid-19,which has been approved by the World Health Organization(WHO).In this paper,to develop the mathematical model for mortality rate prediction,the data of the countries of Iran,the United States,and South Korea during the last two years from March 1,2020,to March 1,2022,have been *** addition,the mortality trend was modeled using the MATLAB software toolbox version *** modeling,six methods including Fourier,Interpolant,Gaussian,Polynomial,Sum of Sine,and Smoothing Spline were *** Mean square error(RMSE)and final prediction error were used to evaluate the performance of these proposed ***:As a result of the analysis,it was shown that the Smoothing Spline model with the lowest error rate was capable of accurately evaluating and predicting Covid-19 incidence and mortality *** RMSE,a prediction of the Covid-19 mortality rate for three countries is 3.76498×10^(-5).The values of R-Square and Adj R-sq were 1 in all the experiments,which indicates the full compliance of the prediction ***:Using the proposed method,the incidence rate and mortality rate can be properly assessed and compared with each other in three *** provides a better view of the progression of the coronavirus outbreak in spring,summer,autumn,and *** using the proposed method,governments will be able to prevent disease and alert people to follow health guidelines more closely,thereby reducing infection numbers and mortalit

Analysis of b→cτν¯_(τ)anomalies using weak effective Hamiltonian with complex couplings and their impact on various physical observables

Recently,the experimental measurements of the branching ratios and different polarization asymmetries for processes occurring through flavor-changing-charged current(b→cτν¯_(τ))transitions by BABAR,Belle,and LHCb have revealed some significant differences from the corresponding Standard Model(SM)*** has triggered an interest to search for physics beyond the SM in the context of various new physics(NP)models and using the model-independent weak effective Hamiltonian(WEH).Assuming left-handed neutrinos,we add the dimension-six vector,(pseudo-)scalar,and tensor operators with complex Wilson coefficients(WCs)to the SM *** 60%,30%,and 10%constraints resulting from the branching ratio of B_(c)→τν¯_(τ),we reassess the parametric space of these new physics WCs accommodating the current anomalies based on the most recent HFLAV data of R_(τ/μ,e)(D)and R_(τ/μ,e)(D^(*))and Belle data of F_(L)(D^(*))and P_(τ)(D^(*)).We find that the allowed parametric region of left-handed scalar couplings strongly depends on the constraints of the B_(c)→τν¯_(τ)branching ratio,and the maximum pull from the SM predictions results from the<60%branching ratio ***,the parametric region changes significantly if we extend the analysis by adding LHCb data of R_(τ/μ)(J/ψ)and R_(τ/ℓ)(Λ_(c)).Furthermore,due to the large uncertainties in the measurements of R_(τ/μ)(J/ψ)and R_(τ/ℓ)(X_(c)),we derive the sum rules which complement them with R_(τ/μ,e)(D)and R_(τ/μ,e)(D^(*)).Using the best-fit points of the new complex WCs along with the latest measurements of R_(τ/μ,e)(D(^(*))),we predict the numerical values of the observable R_(τ/ℓ)(Λ_(c)),R_(τ/μ)(J/ψ),and R_(τ/ℓ)(X_(c))from the sum *** simultaneous dependence of abovementioned physical observables on the NP WCs is established by plotting their correlation with R_(D) and R_(D^(*)),which are useful to discriminate between various NP *** find that the most significant impact of NP results from the WC C^(S)_(L)=4C^(T).Fi

Governance in the exploration of global and regional determinants of ICT development

The present study assesses how governance affects information and communication technology(IcT)at the global level contingent on macroeconomic policy factors such as trade,foreign direct investment(FDI),manufacturing value added,and agricultural value *** study focuses on 183 countries from 2003 to 2021,and the empirical evidence is based on the generalized method of moments(GMM).The following main findings are *** the full sample,governance unconditionally promotes ICT development,while trade openness(industrial added value)moderates governance to promote(dampen)ICT *** sub-Saharan Africa,only trade openness effectively moderates governance to induce an overall positive effect on ICT,while in the Middle East and North Africa(MENA)region,all policy variables moderate governance for an overall positive incidence on ICT sector *** findings for the MENA region are confirmed in the Europe and Central Asia(ECA)region,with the exception of the moderating role of industrial added value,which engenders an overall negative *** the East and South Asia and the Pacific(ESAP)countries,one overall positive incidence is apparent in the role of trade openness,while net negative effects are established from the moderating roles of industrial added value and agricultural added *** the American sub-sample,a positive(negative)net effect is apparent from the role of industrial added value(trade)in moderating the incidence of gover-nance on ICT sector ***,policy implications are discussed.

Metabolic puzzle: Exploring liver fibrosis differences in Asian metabolic-associated fatty liver disease subtypes

BACKGROUND Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)is a liver condition marked by excessive fat buildup in the absence of heavy alcohol *** is primarily linked with metabolic issues like insulin resistance,obesity,and abnormal lipid levels,and is often observed with other conditions such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular ***,whether the subtypes of MAFLD based on the metabolic disorder differentially impact liver fibrosis is not well explicated,especially in the Asian *** To compare the severity of liver fibrosis among different MAFLD *** A total of 322 adult patients of either gender with fatty liver on ultrasound were enrolled between January to December *** was defined as per the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver ***-4 index(Fib-4)and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease fibrosis score(NFS)were employed to evaluate liver *** The mean age was 44.84±11 ***-two percent of the patients were *** hundred and seventy-three patients were classified as having MAFLD,of which 110(40.3%)carried a single,129(47.3%)had two,and 34(12.5%)had all three metabolic *** cumulative number of metabolic conditions was related to elevated body mass index,triglyceride(TG)levels,and glycated hemoglobin,lower high-density lipoprotein(HDL)levels,higher liver inflammation(by aspartate aminotransferase andγ-glutamyl transferase),and higher likelihood of fibrosis(by NFS and Fib-4 scores)(P<0.05 for all).The proportion of advanced fibrosis also increased with an increase in the number of metabolic conditions(4.1%,25.5%,35.6%,and 44.1%by NFS and 6.1%,10.9%,17%,and 26.5%by Fib-4 for no MAFLD and MAFLD with 1,2,and 3 conditions,respectively).Among MAFLD patients,those with diabetes alone were the eldest and had the highest mean value of NFS score and Fib-4 score(P<0.05),while MAFLD patients diagnosed with lean metabolic dysfunction exhibited the highest levels of TG and a

Risk factors and outcomes of peptic ulcer bleed in a Pakistani population:A single-center observational study

BACKGROUND Peptic ulcer disease(PUD)remains a significant healthcare burden,contributing to morbidity and mortality *** advancements in therapies,its prevalence persists,particularly in regions with widespread nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs(NSAIDs)use and Helicobacter pylori *** To comprehensively analyse the risk factors and outcomes of PUD-related upper gastrointestinal(GI)bleeding in Pakistani *** This retrospective cohort study included 142 patients with peptic ulcer bleeding who underwent upper GI endoscopy from January to December *** on demographics,symptoms,length of stay,mortality,re-bleed,and Forrest classification was *** The mean age of patients was 53 years,and the majority was men(68.3%).Hematemesis(82.4%)and epigastric pain(75.4%)were the most common presenting *** patients(73.2%)were discharged within five *** mortality rates at one week and one month were 10.6%and 14.8%,***-bleed within 24 h and seven days occurred in 14.1%and 18.3%of patients,*** ulcers were Forrest class(FC)Ⅲ(72.5%).Antiplatelet use was associated with higher mortality at 7 and 30 d,while alternative medications were linked to higher 24-hour re-bleed *** use was associated with more FCⅢ***-bleed at 24 h and 7 d was strongly associated with one-week or one-month *** Antiplatelet use and rebleeding increase the risk of early mortality in PUD-related upper GI bleeding,while alternative medicines are associated with early rebleeding.
