Intestinal wound healing is complex because of the intestine's intricate structure and the environment, which contains its microbes and digestive modules. Traditional suturing is the utmost standard surgical methodology, which can imply hyperplasia and obstruction, two probable harmful consequences. Thus, patients often face a delayed healing time and constrained healing experiences.

EEG-Based Neonatal Sleep Stage Classification Using Ensemble Learning

Sleep stage classification can provide important information regarding neonatal brain development and *** annotation,using polysomnography(PSG),is considered as a gold standard for neonatal sleep stage ***,visual annotation is time consuming and needs professional *** this reason,an internet of things and ensemblebased automatic sleep stage classification has been proposed in this study.12 EEG features,from 9 bipolar channels,were used to train and test the base classifiers including convolutional neural network,support vector machine,and multilayer *** and stacking ensembles are then used to combine the outputs for final *** proposed algorithm can reach a mean kappa of 0.73 and 0.66 for 2-stage and 3-stage(wake,active sleep,and quiet sleep)classification,*** proposed network works as a semi-real time application because a smoothing filter is used to hold the sleep stage for 3 *** high-performance parameters and its ability to work in semi real-time makes it a promising candidate for use in hospitalized newborn infants.

Effects of protonation and deprotonation on the reactivity of quinolone:A theoretical study

Quinolones are the subject of much research as antibacterial compounds and as a new class of antitumor *** protonation(P) and deprotonation(D) sites and conformations of quinolone were *** proton affinity(PA) on each of the possible sites in 4-oxo-1,4-dihydroquinoline has been calculated by the restricted Hartree-Fock(HF) and density functional theory(DFT) methods with the basis set 6-311G**.The O-site of protonation was found to be strongly favored over the N-site for the studied compound in the gas *** takes place in quinolone by detachment of the N-H and COOH *** PA of the simple quinolone molecule was used to characterize quinolone reactivity with DNA binding *** relative stabilities of the syn and anti conformations were investigated at the B3LYP/6-311G** level of theory;the syn form was shown to be slightly more *** conformation seems to be intrastabilized by hydrogen-bonds consisting of a hydroxyl proton with the O10 atom as the *** computed and discussed the charge-density distribution and electrostatic potential to explain the reactivity of quinolone.

Electroencephalography (EEG) Based Neonatal Sleep Staging and Detection Using Various Classification Algorithms

Automatic sleep staging of neonates is essential for monitoring their brain development and maturity of the nervous *** based neonatal sleep staging provides valuable information about an infant’s growth and health,but is challenging due to the unique characteristics of EEG and lack of standardized *** study aims to develop and compare 18 machine learning models using Automated Machine Learning(autoML)technique for accurate and reliable multi-channel EEG-based neonatal sleep-wake *** study investigates autoML feasibility without extensive manual selection of features or hyperparameter *** data is obtained from neonates at post-menstrual age 37±05 weeks.352530-s EEG segments from 19 infants are used to train and test the proposed *** are twelve time and frequency domain features extracted from each *** model receives the common features of nine channels as an input vector of size *** model’s performance was evaluated based on a variety of evaluation *** maximum mean accuracy of 84.78%and kappa of 69.63%has been obtained by the AutoML-based Random Forest *** is the highest accuracy for EEG-based sleep-wake classification,until ***,for the AutoML-based Adaboost Random Forest model,accuracy and kappa were 84.59%and 69.24%,*** performance achieved in the proposed autoML-based approach can facilitate early identification and treatment of sleep-related issues in neonates.

Tensile Strain Capacity Prediction of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) Using Soft Computing Techniques

Plain concrete is strong in compression but brittle in tension,having a low tensile strain capacity that can significantly degrade the long-term performance of concrete structures,even when steel reinforcing is *** order to address these challenges,short polymer fibers are randomly dispersed in a cement-based matrix to forma highly ductile engineered cementitious composite(ECC).Thismaterial exhibits high ductility under tensile forces,with its tensile strain being several hundred times greater than conventional *** concrete is inherently weak in tension,the tensile strain capacity(TSC)has become one of the most extensively researched *** a result,developing a model to predict the TSC of the ECC and to optimize the mixture proportions becomes ***,the effort required for laboratory trial batches to determine the TSC is *** achieve the research objectives,five distinct models,artificial neural network(ANN),nonlinear model(NLR),linear relationship model(LR),multi-logistic model(MLR),and M5P-tree model(M5P),are investigated and employed to predict the TSCof ECCmixtures containing fly *** from115 mixtures are gathered and analyzed to develop a new *** input variables include mixture proportions,fiber length and diameter,and the time required for curing the various *** model’s effectiveness is evaluated and verified based on statistical parameters such as R2,mean absolute error(MAE),scatter index(SI),root mean squared error(RMSE),and objective function(OBJ)***,the ANN model outperforms the others in predicting the TSC of the ECC,with RMSE,MAE,OBJ,SI,and R2 values of 0.42%,0.3%,0.33%,0.135%,and 0.98,respectively.

Theoretical description of the geometric and electronic structures of organic-organic interfaces in organic solar cells: a brief review

We review some of the computational methodologies used in our research group to develop a better understanding of the geometric and electronic structures of organic-organic interfaces present in the active layer of organic solar cells. We focus in particular on the exciton-dissociation and charge-transfer processes at the pentacene-fullerene interface. We also discuss the local morphology at this interface on the basis of molecular dynamics simulations.
