Identifying high-risk over-entitlement in access control policies using fuzzy logic

Analysing access control policies is an essential process for ensuring over-prescribed permissions are identified and removed. This is a time-consuming and knowledge-intensive process, largely because there is a wealth of policy information that needs to be manually examined. Furthermore, there is no standard definition of what constitutes an over-entitled permission within an organisation’s access control policy, making it not possible to develop automated rule-based approaches. It is often the case that over-entitled permissions are subjective to an organisation’s role-based structure, where access is be divided and managed based on different employee needs. In this context, an irregular permission could be one where an employee has frequently changed roles, thus accumulating a wide-ranging set of permissions. There is no one size fits all approach to identifying permissions where an employee is receiving more permission than is necessary, and it is necessary to examine them in the context of the organisation to establish their individual risk. Risk is not a binary measure and, in this work, an approach is built using Fuzzy Logic to determine an overall risk rating, which can then be used to make a more informed decision as to whether a user is over-entitled and presenting risk to the organisation. This requires the exploratory use of establishing resource sensitivity and user trust as measures to determine a risk rating. The paper presents a generic solution, which has been implemented to perform experimental analysis on microsoft’s New Technology File System to show how this works in practice. A simulation using expert knowledge for comparison is then performed to demonstrate how effective it is at helping the user identify potential irregular permissions.

On a new modified fractional analysis of Nagumo equation

In this work, a new modified fractional form of the Nagumo equation has been presented and deeply analyzed. Using the Caputo–Fabrizio and Atangana–Baleanu time-fractional derivatives, classical Nagumo model is transformed to a new fractional version. The modified equation has been solved by using the homotopy analysis transform method. The convergence analysis has been also examined with the help of the so-called hh-curves and average residual error. Comparing the obtained approximate solution with the exact solution leaves no doubt believing that the proposed technique is very efficient and converges toward the exact solution very rapidly.

medical treatment of inflammatory punctual stenosis monitored by anterior segment optical coherence tomography

AIm:To evaluate the role of medical treatment in the management of inflammatory punctum stenosis guided by spectral domain anterior segment optical coherence tomography(OCT).mETHODS:This prospective study included 60 patients complaining of epiphora due to inflammatory punctual *** were divided into two groups:Group A(30 patients)treated with a combination of preservative free hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 3.35 mg/m L eye drops,and preservative free artificial tears based on sodium hyaluronate,polyethylene and propylene Glycol;Group B(30 patients)treated with the same preservative free artificial tears *** normal subjects were included for comparison of pre-treatment anatomical *** starting treatment,all patients underwent anterior segment assessment including slit lamp examination,measurement of intraocular pressure(IOP),fluorescein dye disappearance test,and measurement of the outer punctum diameter(OPD)by Spectral domain anterior segment *** assessments were repeated at each follow up done at 1 and 3 mo later,together with subjective evaluation of patient’s satisfaction of the treatment outcome by simple rating ***:Punctual diameter increased significantly with treatment in both groups(Pmore in Group A as compared to group B(16.2%vs 8%of the original punctual size,mean difference of 28.933μm,P=0.0076).Subjective satisfaction with treatment outcome was also better in group A(70%vs 40%,Chi-square P=0.0397).CONCLUSION:A combination of preservative free steroid eye drops and artificial tears causes significant widening of inflammed stenotic punctae and improvement of the associated epiphora.

Applying and Comparison of Chaotic-Based Permutation Algorithms for Audio Encryption

This research presents,and claries the application of two permutation algorithms,based on chaotic map systems,and applied to a le of speech *** are the Arnold cat map-based permutation algorithm,and the Baker’s chaotic map-based permutation *** algorithms are implemented on the same speech signal ***,both the premier and the encrypted le histograms are documented and *** speech signal amplitude values with time signals of the original le are recorded and plotted against the encrypted and decrypted ***,the original le is plotted against the encrypted le,using the spectrogram frequencies of speech signals with the signal *** permutation algorithms are used to shufe the positions of the speech les signals’values without any changes,to produce an encrypted speech le.A comparative analysis is introduced by using some of sundry statistical and experimental analyses for the procedures of encryption and decryption,e.g.,the time of both procedures,the encrypted audio signals histogram,the correlation coefcient between specimens in the premier and encrypted signals,a test of the Spectral Distortion(SD),and the Log-Likelihood Ratio(LLR)*** outcomes of the different experimental and comparative studies demonstrate that the two permutation algorithms(Baker and Arnold)are sufcient for providing an efcient and reliable voice signal encryption ***,the Arnold’s algorithm gives better results in most cases as compared to the results of Baker’s algorithm.

Efficacy of anti-microbial agents on vaginal microorganisms and reproductive performance of synchronized estrus ewes

Objective:To isolate and identify microflora and fungal species at different phases during estrus synchronization of ewes and estimate their prevalence;compare the effectiveness of antimicrobial administration to intravaginal sponge on the changes in the vaginal micro-organisms and reproductive ***: Sixty Egyptian ewes were allocated into three equal groups (G: 1, 2 and 3). G1 was inserted with vaginal sponge containing medroxy-progesterone acetate and served as control;without antimicrobial additive. The other two groups were treated as G1, but sponges were previously injected with ciprofloxacin (G2), while sponges of G3 were injected with ciprofloxacin and clotrimazole. Vaginal swabs were collected from each treated ewe, prior sponge insertion, at sponge withdrawal and 48 h later for microbiological investigation and bacterial count. On the day of sponge removal, 300 IU/eCG was administered for each treated ewe. The identified bacterial strains before sponge insertion were tested for sensitivity with antimicrobial ***:Bacterial isolates before sponge insertion were more sensitive to ciprofloxacin. Frequencies of ewes in estrus;the interval from sponge withdrawal to onset estrus and the duration of estrus were statistically similar among treated groups. The pregnancy rate in G2 (100%) was higher than G1 (66.7%) and G3 (82.4%). The total bacterial count before sponge insertion was similar between all treatments and increased significantly in all groups on the day of sponge withdraw. The prevailing bacteria on D0, D14 and 48 h after sponge removal for all treated groups wereStaphylococcus spp. followed byEscherichia coli. Regarding to fungus species, percentages of isolation increased from 5% (before sponge insertion) to 100.00% and 88.89% at sponge withdraw for G1 and G2, respectively. Condition monitoring of the insulating system within power transformers has a massive importance according to the electrical *** gas analysis(DGA)is frequently used for this ***,DGA lacks the necessary level of accuracy to identify all equipment faults,particularly in their initial stages of ***,it does not have the capability for real-time monitoring and relies on manual sampling and laboratory testing,causing potential delays in fault ***,the interpretation of DGA data necessitates specialised expertise,which may pose difficulties for smaller entities that have limited access to ***,the contribution of this research is to use infrared spectroscopy measurements as a new effective technique substituting the DGA method for fault diagnosis in insulating *** inception faults that were considered in this study were the electrical fault(discharges of high energy)and the thermal fault(300°Cmperaturemulation processes inside the laboratory for both types of inception ***,six samples of pure paraffinic mineral oil were taken to be degraded in the *** that,all of them besides another sample that were not subjected to any kind of faults were taken to be examined by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy to obtain an overview of the oil's behaviour in each fault *** that,the FTIR analysis was initially verified utilising the DGA ***,for further affirmation,the dielectric dissipation factor(DDF)for all samples was *** the final analysis,the verification tests provide experimental evidence about the outperformance of this new optical technique in detecting the transformer's inception faults in addition to proving its potential for being a superior alternative to the well-known traditional diagnostic techniques.

Development of new potentiometric sensors for the determination of proguanil hydrochloride in serum and urine

Potentiometric electrodes were developed for the rapid determination of proguanil hydrochloride in pure samples, pharmaceutical preparations and spiked serum and urine samples using PVC membrane,screen printed（SPE）, coated wired（CWE）, carbon paste（CPE） and modified carbon paste（mCPE）electrodes based on the ion-exchanger of proguanil with phosphotungestic acid（Pr-PT） as a chemical modifier. The prepared electrodes showed Nernestian slopes of 59.7, 58.1, 58.5, 58.5 and 57.0 for the PVC,SPE, CWE, CPE and mCPE for the proguanil ions in a wide concentration range of 1.0 ＊ 10^-5–1.0 ＊ 10^-2mol L^-1 at 25°C with detection limits of 7.94 ＊ 10^-6, 1.0 ＊ 10^-5, 1.0 ＊ 10^-6, 7.07 ＊ 10^-6 and 2.5 ＊ 10^-6 mol L^-1, respectively. The prepared electrodes exhibited high proguanil selectivity in relation to several inorganic ions and sugars and they could be successfully utilized for its determination in pure solutions, pharmaceutical preparations and serum and urine samples using the direct potentiometry and standard addition methods with very good recovery values.

Prediction of Vibration Characteristics in Beam Structure Using Sub-Scale modeling with Experimental Validation

Geometric or sub-scale modeling techniques are used for the evaluation of large and complex dynamic structures to ensure accurate reproduction of load path and thus leading to true dynamic characteristics of such structures. The sub-scale modeling technique is very effective in the prediction of vibration characteristics of original large structure when the experimental testing is not feasible due to the absence of a large testing facility. Previous researches were more focused on free and harmonic vibration case with little or no consideration for readily encountered random vibration. A sub-scale modeling technique is proposed for estimating the vibration characteristics of any large scale structure such as Launch vehicles, mega structures, etc., under various vibration load cases by utilizing precise scaled-down model of that dynamic structure. In order to establish an analytical correlation between the original structure and its scaled models, different scale models of isotropic cantilever beam are selected and analyzed under various vibration conditions（ i.e. free, harmonic and random） using finite element package ANSYS. The developed correlations are also validated through experimental testing The prediction made from the vibratory response of the scaled-down beam through the established sets of correlation are found similar to the response measured from the testing of original beam structure. The established correlations are equally applicable in the prediction of dynamic characteristics of any complex structure through its scaled-down models. This paper presents modified sub-scale modeling technique that enables accurate prediction of vibration characteristics of large and complex structure under not only sinusoidal but also for random vibrations.

Film thickness effects on nanorods organic films of azo quinoline derivatives for optical applications

The effect of film thickness on the structural and optical properties of bisbenzimidazo [2,1-a:2’,1’-a’] anthrax[2,1,9-def:6,5,10-d’e’f’] diisoquinoline-10,21-dione(BI-diisoQ) films was carried *** morphology of BIdiisoQ film showed a definite shape of a nanorod with a length of around 5 μm and a diameter of approximately20 ***,X-ray diffraction patterns demonstrated that BI-diisoQ thin films are characterized by a mixture of amorphous and crystalline structure,whereas the phase-nature crystallization of BI-diisoQ film enhanced as the film thickness *** investigation of the absorption coefficient of BI-diisoQ films revealed two indirect allowed band gaps *** calculated values of nonlinear optical parameters for BI-diisoQ film were observed to be increased with the increase of film *** optical properties of BI-diisoQ nanorod films indicated that these films have appropriate optical properties,and thus it can be recommended as a promised candidate material in superconductors,optoelectronic and photonic applications.
