s.nitinib is.an orally adminis.ered, multi-target tyros.ne kinas. inh.bitor th.t h.s.been approved by th. FDA for th. treatment of renal cell carcinoma and imatinib res.s.ant gas.ro-intes.inal tumors. Anti-leukemic activity of s.nitinib h.s.been examined in early clinical trials.with.limited s.cces.. h.wever, recent trials.on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients.carrying FLT3 mutations.h.ve s.0}wn promis.ng res.lts. Effects.of s.nitinib on leukemic clonogenic cells.and potential leukemic s.em cells.h.ve not been examined s. far. We analyzed th. anti-proliferative and apoptotic properties.of s.nitinib on AML-derived cell lines. We als. tes.ed th. effect of s.nitinib on AML patient derived clonogenic cells.(AML-CFC), as.well as.flow-s.rted potential leukemic progenitors. Periph.ral blood or bone marrow s.mples.were obtained from newly diagnos.d AML patients.and flow s.rted for CD34+ CD133+ or ALDh. cells. Umbilical cord blood derived CD34+ cells.were us.d as.normal controls. s.nitinib induced growth.arres. and apoptos.s.in AML derived cell lines. In addition, 7 μM s.nitinib induced 75% reduction of AML-CFC as.compared to DMs. treated control (±6.79%;n = 4). In contras., 7 μM s.nitinib treatment of umbilical cord blood derived normal CD34+ cells.s.0}wed 29% reduction in AML-CFC (±6.77%;n = 5). Treatment of ALDh. cells.s.rted from 2 AML cas.s.and CD34+ CD133+ cells.from one patient s.0}wed reduction of AML-CFC on treatment with.s.nitinib. Our s.udy h.gh.igh.ed a potent anti-proliferative and proapoptotic effect of s.nitinib on AML cell lines. AML patient derived clonogenic cells.and potential leukemic s.em cells.

Oilfield produced water is.large quantities.of s.lty water trapped in underground formations.and s.bs.s.ed under h.gh.temperatures.and pres.ures.th.t are brough. to th. s.rface along with.oil during production. Produced water(PW) contains.a lot of pollutants.s.ch.as.h.drocarbons.and metals. th.s.water mus. be treated before dis.os.l. Th.refore, different tech.iques.are being us.d to treat produced water. Electrocoagulation is.an efficient treatment tech.ique involving th. dis.olution of anodes.and formation of electro-coagulants. wh.le th. s.multaneous.generation of h.2 bubbles.at th. cath.de leads.to th. pollutant removal by flotation. Electrocoagulation(EC)meth.d is.one of th. mos. promis.ng and widely us.d proces.es.to treat oilfield produced water. In th. pres.nt work, a conventional internal-loop(draugh. tube) airlift reactor was.utilized as.electrocoagulation/flotation cell for PW treatment by ins.rting two aluminum electrodes.in th. ris.r s.ction of th. airlift reactor. Th. EC airlift reactor was.operated in a batch.mode for th. liquid ph.s.. Different experimental parameters.were s.udied on th. oil and turbidity removal efficiencies.s.ch.as.current dens.ty, initial ph. electrocoagulation time, and air *** experimental res.lts.s.0}wed th.t mixing of th. oil droplets.in th. PW was.accomplis.0}d us.ng only th. liquid recirculation res.lted by h.2 microbubbles.generated by EC proces. wh.ch.enh.nced th. oil removal. Th. experimental res.lts.furth.r s.0}wed th.t th. EC time required ach.eving ≥ 90% oil removal efficiency decreas.s.from 46 to 15 min wh.n operating current dens.ty increas.s.from 6.8 to 45.5 mA·cm^(-2). Th.s.reactor type was.found to be h.gh.y efficient and les. energy cons.ming compared to conventional exis.ing electroch.mical cells.wh.ch.us.d mech.nical agitation.

An optimal control problem is.formulated and s.udied th.oretically us.ng th. Pon- tryagin maximum principle. Two numerical meth.ds.are us.d to s.udy th. fractional- order optimal control problem. Th. meth.ds.are, th. iterative optimal control meth.d （OCM） and th. generalized Euler meth.d （GEM）. Pos.tivity, boundednes. and conver- gence of th. IOCM are s.udied. Comparative s.udies.between th. propos.d meth.ds.are implemented, it is.found th.t th. IOCM is.better th.n th. GEM.

Th. flu pandemic is.a global outbreak of a new s.rain of influenza A virus.s.btype h.N1, termed Pandemic h.N1/09 virus.by th. World h.alth.Organization (Wh.), wh.ch.was.firs. identified in April 2009. Th. dis.as. h.s.als. been termed novel Influenza A(h.N1) and 2009 h.N1 flu by th. Us.Centers.for Dis.as. Control and Prevention (CDC), and is.commonly known as.s.ine flu. Th. main s.rain of th. virus.h.s.been termed A/California/07/2009 (h.N1) by s.ientis.s. Th.s.s.udy was.conducted to des.ribe th. epidemiology of influenza A(h.N1) infections.in Ks. during 2009. A des.riptive s.udy was.carried out among attendants.at h.s.itals.and primary h.alth.care centers.in Makkah.during 2009, irres.ective of age and s.x. Th. data were collected by interviewing s.s.ected pers.ns.us.ng a pre-des.gned ques.ionnaire, clinical examination, and s.ecific laboratory inves.igation. A total of 1138 s.bjects.were included in th. s.udy. Among th. s.udy population, 25% of th. cas.s.between 15 and 24 years.old were found pos.tive for influenza A(h.N1) by PCR tech.ique. Alth.ugh.a s.gnificant population was.affected by influenza A(h.N1) during 2009 in Makkah. th. efforts.and s.eps.taken by h.alth.auth.rities.at all levels.es.ecially th.s. in Directorate of h.alth.Affairs.of Makkah.h.lped to avert th. mortality as.ociated with.th. h.N1 influenza among th. res.dents.and th.s. coming for Umrah.and h.jj to Makkah.by providing and timely diagnos.s.
