Objective Air pollution has been reported to exert serious health effects to all living things in both short and long term *** allegations have been proven by mounting epidemiological data and studies which consistently showed clear ***,the precise mechanisms behind the association between airborne particulates and the evidences have yet to be fully ***(a)pyrene(BaP) is a main constituent of haze and notably known to be the cause of mutagenicity and carcinogenicity in experimental *** the notorious reputation of BaP,no conclusive study has been conducted to assess the effects of this compound at such a low dose as the one that malaysians encountered during the haze episode in ***,this study was designed to assess the oxidative stress in rats intratracheally exposed to BaP,and also to correlate these findings with the morphology of the lungs. BACKGROUND The migration rate of fully covered self-expandable metal stents(FCSEmSs) has been reported to be between 14% to 37%. Anchoring of FCSEmSs using a doublepigtail plastic stent(DPS) may decrease *** To compare stent migration rates between patients who received FCSEmS alone and those who received both an FCSEmS and anchoring *** We conducted a retrospective analysis of endoscopy reporting system and medical records of 1366 patients who underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) with FCSEmS placement at the University of Kentucky health care. Between July 2015 and April 2017,203 patients with FCSEmS insertion for the treatment of malignant biliary stricture,benign biliary stricture,post-sphincterotomy bleeding,bile leak,and cholangitis drainage were identified. The review and analysis were conducted through our endoscopy reporting system(ProVation~? mD) and medical records. Categorical data were analyzed using Chi-Square and Fischer exact test and continuous data using nonparametric tests. A regression analysis was performed to identify factors independently associated with increased risk of stent migration. We determinedan FCSEmS migration endoscopically if the stent was no longer visible in the major ***1366 patients had undergone ERCP by three advanced endoscopists over 21-mo period; among these,203 patients had FCSEmSs placed. 65 patients had FCSEmSs with DPS,and 138 had FCSEmSs alone. 65 patients had FCSEmSs with DPS,and 138 had FCSEmSs alone. 95 patients had a malignant stricture,82 patients had a benign stricture,12 patients had bile leak,12 patients had cholangitis,and nine patients had post-sphincterotomy bleeding. The migration rate in patients with anchored FCSEmSs with DPS was 6%,and those without anchoring DPS was 10%(P = 0.35). The Schottky diode (Al/p-CuInSe2/FTO) was fabricated by simple deposition of pure Aluminum on the front side of the CuInSe2 thin film. We have investigated its electrical characteristics by measuring the current-voltage (I-V), the capacitance-voltage (C-V) and the electrical impedance in the range of temperature (300 K - 425 K). At room temperature, this heterostructure has shown non-ideal Schottky behavior with 3.98 as ideality factor and 38 μA/cm2 as a reverse saturated current density. The C-V measured at 100 kHz has shown non-linear behavior and an increase with temperature. Similarly, we have estimated, at room temperature, the carrier doping density, the built-in potential and the depletion layer width which are of about 8.66 × 1015 cm﹣3, 1.12 V and 0.37 μm respectively. By the impedance spectroscopy technique, we have found a decrease with temperature of all the serial resistance Rs, the parallel resistance Rp and the capacitance Cp. The frequency dependence of the imaginary part of this impedance was carried out to characterize the carrier transport properties in the heterostructure. From the Arrhenius diagram, we have estimated the activation energy at 460 meV. An equivalent electrical circuit was used for modeling these results.

Experimental investigations have been performed to determine the detailed module-by-module pressure drop and heat transfer coefficient of turbulent flow inside a circular finned tube. The tubes are provided with longitudinal fins continuous or interrupted in the stream wise direction by arranging them both in a staggered and in-line manner. Experiments are carried out for two different fin geometries, with two numbers of fins (N = 6 and 12). All tested finned tubes have 16 modules each with length equal to the tube diameter (L = D = 30 mm). The thermal boundary condition considered here, is a uniform heat flux. The module-by-module heat transfer coefficient is found to vary only in the first modules, and then attained a constant thermally periodic fully developed value after eight to twelve modules. The results also showed that in the periodic hydrodynamic fully developed region, the value of the pressure drop along the tube with continuous fins is greater than that of the in-line arrangement, and lower than that of the staggered arrangement. Furthermore, the results showed that in the periodic fully developed region, the tube with continuous fins produces a greater value of the heat transfer coefficients than that the tube with interrupted fins, especially through a high range of Reynolds number (5 × 104 > Re > 2 × 104). The tube with Staggered arrangement of fins produces a greater value of the heat transfer coefficient than the tube with continuous fins and the in-line arrangement finned tube at low Reynolds number (Re maximum Reynolds number with continuous fins tube).

Soil is a heterogeneous medium which consist of liquid, solid, and gaseous phases. The solid and liquid phases play an essential role in soil spontaneous electrical phenomena and in behaviour of electrical fields, artificially created in soil. Soil electrical properties are the parameters of natural and artificially created electrical fields in soils and influenced by distribution of mobile electrical charges, mostly inorganic ions, in soils. Geophysical method of electrical resistivity was used for measuring soil electrical properties and tested in different soil studies. Laboratory tests were performed for the numbers of clayey sandy soil samples taken from Batu Uban area. The empirical correlations between electrical parameter, percentage of liquid limit, plastic limit, plasticity index, moisture content and effective soil cohesion were obtained via curvilinear models. The ranges of the soil samples are changed between 229 Ωm to 927 Ωm for resistivity (ρ), 6.01 kN/m2 to 14.27 kN/m2 for effective soil cohesion (C'), 35.08 kN/m2 to 51.47 kN/m2 for internal fiction angle (?'), 38% to 88% for moisture content (W), 33% to 78% for liquid limit (WL), 21% to 43% for plastic limit (Wp) and 11% to 35% for plasticity index (PI). These empirical correlations model developed in this study provides a very useful tool to relate electrical resistivity with effective cohesion, internal friction angle (strength), void ratio, porosity, degree of saturation, moisture content, liquid limit, plastic limit and plasticity index in context of medium-grained of clayey sandy soil that is, its fluid behaviours.

Cu-doped borate glass co-doped with SnO2nanoparticles is fabricated by melt *** structure and morphology of the samples are examined by X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron ***-conversion enhancement is observed in the photoluminescence（PL） and thermoluminescence（TL） intensities of the *** emission spectra are identified in the blue and green regions,and a fourfold increase in emission intensity may be observed in the presence of embedded *** glow curve is recorded at 215 C,and fourfold increases in TL intensity are obtained by addition of 0.1 mol% SnO2nanoparticles to the *** TL responses of the samples are observed in the energy range of 15-100 *** energy levels greater than;.1 meV,however,flat responses are *** activation energy and frequency factor of the second-order kinetic reaction are calculated by the peak shape method.

This work aims to assess the effect of energy conversion (Thermal oil, Natural gas and cogeneration system) on atmospheric emission and energy consumption in ceramic tile product sector in Tunisia. Two tile manufactures were selected. The first plant has two production lines: The first line (FF1) operates with thermal oil with a lower calorific value (LHV) of 9811 cal/g and the second line (FG1) operating with natural gas has a lower calorific value (HHV) of 10,520 cal/g, ensuring a daily output of 300 tons each one. The second manufacture (SC2) operates with natural gas with the same LHV value. The thermal oil energy balance showed a specific consumption of 0.0481 toe/ton tile product for the FF1 manufacture line, 0.0198 toe/ton of tile product for the FG1 manufacture line and 0.0143 toe/ton of tile product for the SC2 manufactory. The electrical energy consumption was 0.0121 toe/ton of tile product for the FF1 line, 0.0108 toe/ton of tile product for the FG1 line and a production of energy (exergy) of 0.014 toe/ton for the SC2 production line. The specific consumption was split into 40% for dryer and 60% for tunnel kilns. The conversion allow to record a dryer reduction rate of 80% for nitrogen oxides (NOx), 56% for sulfur oxides (SOx), 56% for fluorinated compounds, 52% for chlorinated compounds and 52% for volatile organic compound. Whereas, the kiln reduction rate was 36% for nitrogen oxides, 51% for sulfur oxides, 36% for chlorinated compounds and 55% for fluorinated and 50% for volatile organic compounds (VCOs). Compared to natural gas line, the use of cogeneration system in kiln process shows a decrease of 67% for NOx emissions, 80% for SOx emissions, 89% for fluorinated compounds, 58% for chlorinated emissions and 64% for volatiles organic compounds. Compared to thermal oil, the use of cogeneration system reduces the thermal energy consumption by 70% and allowed to save 30% of electric energy by generate 20% of needed electric energy.
