A standard skill assessment （sa） tool was developed and implemented to evaluate the performance of op- erational forecast models in the Korea operational oceanographic system. The sa tool provided a robust way to assess model skill in the system by comparing predictions and observations, and involved the com- putation of multiple skill metrics including correlation and error skills. User- and system-based acceptance criteria of skill metrics were applied to determine whether predictions were acceptable for the system. To achieve this, the tool produced a time series comparison plot, a skill score table, and an advanced sum- marized diagram to effectively demonstrate the multiple skill scores. Moreover, the sa was conducted to evaluate both atmospheric and hydrodynamic forecast variables. For the atmospheric variables, acceptable error criteria were preferable to acceptable correlation criteria over short timescales, since the mean square error overwhelmed the observation variance. Conversely, for the hydrodynamic variables, acceptable root mean square percentage error （e.g., perms） criteria were preferable to acceptable error （e.g., erms） criteria owing to the spatially variable tidal intensity around the Korean Peninsula. Furthermore, the sa indicated that predetermined acceptance error criteria were appropriate to satisfy a target central frequency （fc） for which errors fell within the specified limits （i.e., the .fc equals 70%）.

Background： Metabolic profile was initially designed as a presymptomatic diagnostic aid based on statistical analyses of blood metabolites to provide an early warning of certain types of metabolic disorder. However, there is little metabolic profile data available about Korean Hanwoo cows. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the reference intervals of metabolic profile for Korean Hanwoo cows. Methods： Healthy animals （2,205） were selected and divided into early （day 1 to 95）, middle （day 96 to 190） and late （day 191 to 285） period according to their gestating period. Metabolic profile including total protein （TP）, albumin （AIb）, urea （UREA）, glucose （Glu）, total cholesterol （T-cho）, long-chain fatty acid （LCFA）, aspartate aminotransferase （AST）, gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase （GGT）, creatinine （Crea）, calcium （Ca）, inorganic phosphorous （iP） and magnesium （Mg） were analyzed using a TBA-4OFR automatic biochemical analyzer. The data of Korean Hanwoo cows were then compared to those of the Japanese Wagyu cows. Results： Most of the data of the Korean Hanwoo cows were relatively higher than those of Japanese Wagyu cows, with the exception of Glu and GGT. This may indicate that the nutritional level of feed for the Korean Hanwoo cows was higher than that of the Japanese Wagyu cows because of the different feeding system. In particular, relatively higher levels of UREA and LCFA were observed in the Korean Hanwoo cows, and this may also contribute to the low reproduction efficiency. Conclusions： These findings may provide some theoretical basis for understanding the reproductive and feeding situation of Korean Hanwoo cows.

Objective:To investigate the anti-senescence effect of 3-bromo-4,5-dihydroxybenzaldehyde(BDB)from Polysiphonia morrowii Harvey in human dermal fibroblasts(HDF).Methods:HDF were subjected to treatment of BDB and then treated with hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)to induce premature ***-associatedβ-galactosidase(sa-β-gal)activity in HDF was determined using the sa-β-gal staining *** reactive oxygen species(ROS)production was measured using the 2’,7’-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate *** blotting assay was performed to assess the level of antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase 1(GPX1).In addition,intracellular collagen and collagenase contents were analyzed using the respective ELIsa *** activity in HDF supernatants was measured from p-nitroaniline release and normalized using total protein ***:Treatment of HDF with H2O2 increased the activity of sa-β-gal,but BDB pre-treatment resulted in the reduction of sa-β-gal ***,BDB significantly reduced H2O2-induced intracellular ROS *** also markedly increased the level of GPX1,which was inhibited by 400μM of ***,in in vitro study,BDB significantly increased intracellular collagen content and decreased matrix metalloproteinase-1 and elastase activities in ***:Our results demonstrate that BDB shows antisenescence and anti-wrinkle activities in vitro.

Compressive Strength Prediction of Porous Concrete Using Nondestructive Tests

This research focused on a prediction of compressive strength in porous concrete based on the ratio of air-entrained agents in the concrete slab using nondestructive testing methods such as the Impact Echo （IE） method, Spectral Analysis of Surface Wave （saSW） method and Free-Free Resonance （FFR） test. The method that best predicts the strength of the concrete slab can be derived from a relationship between compressive strengths and stress wave velocities. Concrete slab specimens of varying air content, were formed with a mix ratio of air-entrained agent of 0%, 0.15%, 0.3%, 0.7% and 1.5% by weight. These slabs were tested and analyzed to measure the stress wave velocities in order to develop a correlation with compressive strengths. The plot between the stress waves and compressive strengths showed a stiffslope up to an air ratio of 4% with a less steep slope beyond this point. In the process of predicting the compressive strength of concrete slab specimens, the prediction of compressive strength based on the compression wave velocity caused an average error of 4.9% in the compression wave velocity, and the prediction of compressive strength based on the surface wave velocity caused an average error of 2.2% in the surface wave velocity.

Electronic coupling with the support plays a crucial role in boosting the intrinsic catalytic activity of a single-atom ***,the three-dimensional(3D)hierarchical Co(OH)F nanosheet arrays modified by singleatom Ru(sa-Ru/Co(OH)F)are prepared by a facile one-step hydrothermal method under mild conditions,which exhibit excellent activity with an overpotential of 200 and 326 mV at 10 and 500 mA cm^(−2),respectively,as well as robust stability for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in 1.0 mol L^(−1)KOH *** study of electronic structures and surface chemical states before and after OER testing reveals that the strong electronic coupling between single-atom Ru and Co(OH)F induces the charge redistribution in sa-Ru/Co(OH)F and suppresses the excessive oxidation of Ru into higher valence state(more than+4)under high OER *** work provides a strategy to stabilize single-atom Ru by Co(OH)F that can enhance the activity and durability for OER under large current densities.
