This paper describes our research activity involved in the identification, development and test of a prototype SHM system constituted by optical sensing nodes to measure both temperature and strain on ultra high temperature ceramics (UHTC) materials up to 1000 °C. Commercially available optic devices can operate up to 550 °C. To raise temperature limit up to 1000 °C, custom devices, mainly under development for scientific applications, have been identified. A prototype SHM system has been developed adopting a FBG sensor for temperature measurement and an EFPi sensor in sapphire fiber for strain measurement. The preliminary findings from thermo-mechanical tests indicate that former SHM system is capable of accurately measuring strain at elevated temperatures on UHTC materials.

As it is known, the closed inexact exterior form and associated closed dual form make up a differential-geometrical structure. Such a differential-geometrical structure describes a physical structure, namely, a pseudostructure on which conservation laws are fulfilled (A closed dual form describes a pseudostructure. And a closed exterior form, as it is known, describes a conservative quantity, since the differential of closed form is equal to zero). it has been shown that closed inexact exterior forms, which describe physical structures, are obtained from the equations of mathematical physics. This process proceeds spontaneously under realization of any degrees of freedom of the material medium described. Such a process describes an emergence of physical structures and this is accompanied by an appearance of observed formations such as fluctuations, waves, turbulent pulsations and so on.

inorganic semiconductor α-Ag_(2)S exhibits a metal-like ductile behavior at room temperature,but the origin of this high ductility has not been fully explored *** on density function theory simulations on the intrinsic mechanical properties of α-Ag_(2)S,its underlying ductile mechanism is attributed to the following three factors:(i)the low ideal shear strength and multiple slip pathways under pressure,(ii)easy movement of Ag–S octagon framework without breaking Ag−S bonds,and(iii)a metallic Ag−Ag bond forms which suppresses the Ag-S frameworks from slipping and holds them *** easy slip pathways(or easy rearrangement of atoms without breaking bonds)in α-Ag_(2)S provide insight into the understanding of the plastic deformation mechanism of ductile semiconductor materials,which is beneficial for devising and developing flexible semiconductor materials and electronic devices.

Objective:To determine whether blood nitrite levels are elevated in patients with leptospirosis. Methods:Male patients Fulfilling clinical and epidemiological criteria for a diagnosis of leptospirosis were *** with MAT title of≥400 together with those seroconverting to a titer of≥200 were included in the *** nitrite levels were measured in these patients and *** matched healthy ***:Patients from 3 hospitals(n=75) were screened during a 3 month period from 28th June to 3rd September 2009,of whom 20 were eligible for the *** nilrile levels were found to be significantly higher in patients with acute leptospirosis[n=20.(0.359±0.229)μM]compared to controls[(n= 13.(0.216±0.051)μM] (P=0.014).A significant correlation was also observed between the MAT titre and the day of illness (r = 0.547;Pions:Serum nitrite levels are higher in patients with acute leptospirosis compared to age and sex matched *** correlation could be assessed with severity of illness,as sample size was inadequate to determine this.

We report the discovery of an isolated compact galaxy triplet SDSS J084843.45＋164417.3, which is first detected by the LAMOST spectral survey and then confirmed by a spectroscopic observation of the BFOSC mounted on the 2.16 meter telescope located at Xinglong Station, which is administered by National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences. it is found that this triplet is an iso- lated and extremely compact system, which has an aligned configuration and very small radial velocity dispersion. The member galaxies have similar colors and show marginal star formation activities. These results support the opinion that the compact triplets are well-evolved systems rather than hierarchically forming structures. This serendipitous discovery reveals the limitations of fiber spectral redshift surveys in studying such a compact system, and demonstrates the necessity of additional observations to complete the current redshift sample.

Effect of psychological preparation on anxiety level before colonoscopy in outpatients referred to Golestan Hospital in Ahvaz

BACKGROUND： Gastrointestinal disorders are common complaints for which endoscopy and colonoscopy are the most important diagnostic procedures. Anxiety is an unpleasant, ambiguous feeling of apprehension and fear of unknown origin that occurs during stressful situations or injury. Lack of sufficient information and fear of pain can cause anxiety prior to a colonoscopy, reducing the number of patients willing to undergo the procedure and increasing colonoscopy time. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of psychological preparation on anxiety before colonoscopy in patients presenting to Golestan Hospital during the years 1994 and 1995. MATERiAL and METHODS： This study was a double-blind clinical trial of patients presenting to the colonoscopy unit in Golestan Hospital in 1994 and 1995. A total of 80 patients were divided into two groups： intervention and control. A primary assessment of anxiety was performed using Spielberger＇s State-Trait Anxiety inventory. Before the colonoscopy, the State-Trait Anxiety inventory was completed by the patients again. The effectiveness of psychological preparation before colonoscopy and its effect on anxiety were evaluated using statistical software SPSS 20. RESULTS： The mean age of participants was 46.33 ±12.2 years in the intervention group and 44.8±12.26 years in the control group. in this study, there were 41 males （51.3%） and 39 females （48.7%）; 15 patients （18.7%） were single and the rest married. in terms of demographic variables, there were no significant differences between the two groups （p 〉 0.05）. The average scores of state and trait anxiety in the intervention group showed a statistically significant difference before and after the intervention （p = 0.000）. CONCLUSiON： Trait and state anxiety levels after psychological preparation showed a statistically significant reduction. This indicates the effectiveness of intervention programs to reduce anxiety before colonoscopy.
