Uveal and conjunctival melanomas are relatively rare tumors;nonetheless,they pose a signiﬁcant risk of mortality for a large number of affected *** pathogenesis of melanoma at different sites is very similar,however,the prognosis for patients with ocular melanoma remains unfavourable,primarily due to its distinctive genetic proﬁle and tumor *** of considerable advances in understanding the genetic characteristics and biological behaviour,the treatment of uveal and conjunctival melanoma remains a formidable *** enhance the prospect of success,collaborative efforts involving medical professionals and researchers in theﬁelds of ocular biology and oncology are *** data show a lack of well-designed randomized clinical trials and limited beneﬁts in current forms of treatment for these *** advancements in the development of effective melanoma therapeutic strategies,all current treatments for uveal melanoma(UM)and conjunctival melanoma(CoM)remain unsatisfactory,resulting in a poor long-term *** trials offer hope for positive outcomes in advanced and metastatic tumors.A more comprehensive understanding of the genetic and molecular abnormalities involved in the development and progression of ocular melanomas opens the way for the development of personalized therapy,with various potential therapeutic targets currently under *** comprehension of the molecular pathogenesis of UM and CoM and their speciﬁcities may aid in the development of new and more effective systemic therapeutic agents,with the hope of improving the prognosis for patients with metastatic disease.

The effect of reactive plasticizer on viscoelastic and mechanical properties of solid rocket propellants based on different types of HTPB resin

Conventional plasticizers deteriorate mechanical and viscoelastic properties of the propellants due to their migration upon aging and long-term storage,which affects reliability and safety properties during *** address this issue,conventional plasticizer,dioctyl adipate(DOA),is replaced by reactive one,castor oil(CO).In addition,three different types of HTPB were used to obtain propellants with designed viscoelastic and mechanical *** CO increased propellants viscosity,without a significant impact on the propellant processability,regardless to the type of ***,mechanical properties were different depending on the type of resin,which were further analyzed by gel permeation chromatography(GPC).Addition of CO formed a denser polymer network and shifted T_(g) to higher values,compared to the compositions with *** tensile strength of CO-containing propellants was lower at +20℃ and +50℃ compared to the reference compositions,while the strain at maximum load and strain at break were significantly increased with pronounced plastic deformation,especially for samples at -30℃.The inclusion of CO in the propellants composition gives more room for adjusting a wide range of mechanical properties.

Rock Mass Quality Rating Based on the Multi-Criteria Grey Metric Space

Assessment of rock mass quality significantly impacts the design and construction of underground and open-pit mines from the point of stability and *** study develops the novel Gromov-Hausdorff distance for rock quality(GHDQR)methodology for rock mass quality rating based on multi-criteria grey metric *** usually presents the quality of surrounding rock by classes(metric spaces)with specified properties and adequate interval-grey *** the distance between surrounding rock sample characteristics and existing classes represents the core of this *** Gromov-Hausdorff distance is an especially useful discriminant function,i.e.,a classifier to calculate these distances,and assess the quality of the surrounding *** efficiency of the developed methodology is analyzed using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error(MAPE)*** existing methods,such as the Gaussian cloud method,Discriminant method,Mutation series method,Artificial neural network(ANN),Support vector machine(SVM),Grey wolf optimizer and Support vector classification method(GWO-SVC)and Rock mass rating method(RMR)are used for comparison with the proposed GHDQR *** share of the highly accurate category of 85.71%clearly indicates compliance with actual values obtained by the compared *** results of comparisons showed that the model enables objective,efficient,and reliable assessment of rock mass quality.

Cardiovascular risk factors among older persons with cognitive frailty in middle income country

BACKGROUND Cognitive frailty,characterized by the coexistence of cognitive impairment and physical frailty,represents a multifaceted challenge in the aging *** role of cardiovascular risk factors in this complex interplay is not yet fully *** To investigate the relationships between cardiovascular risk factors and older persons with cognitive frailty by pooling data from two cohorts of studies in *** A comprehensive approach was employed,with a total of 512 communitydwelling older persons aged 60 years and above,involving two cohorts of older persons from previous *** related to cardiovascular risks,namely sociodemographic factors,and cardiovascular risk factors,including hypertension,diabetes,hypercholesterolemia,anthropometric characteristics and biochemical profiles,were pooled for *** frailty was defined based on the Clinical Dementia Rating scale and Fried frailty *** risk was determined using Framingham risk *** analyses were conducted using SPSS version *** Of the study participants,46.3%exhibited cognitive *** risk factors including hypertension(OR:1.60;95%CI:1.12-2.30),low fat-free mass(OR:0.96;95%CI:0.94-0.98),high percentage body fat(OR:1.04;95%CI:1.02-1.06),high waist circumference(OR:1.02;95%CI:1.01-1.04),high fasting blood glucose(OR:1.64;95%CI:1.11-2.43),high Framingham risk score(OR:1.65;95%CI:1.17-2.31),together with sociodemographic factors,i.e.,being single(OR 3.38;95%CI:2.26-5.05)and low household income(OR 2.18;95%CI:1.44-3.30)were found to be associated with cognitive *** Cardiovascular-risk specific risk factors and sociodemographic factors were associated with risk of cognitive frailty,a prodromal stage of *** identification and management of cardiovascular risk factors,particularly among specific group of the population might mitigate the risk of cognitive frailty,hence preventing dementia.

Assessing Criteria Weights by the Symmetry Point of Criterion (Novel SPC Method)–Application in the Efficiency Evaluation of the Mineral Deposit Multi-Criteria Partitioning Algorithm

Information about the relative importance of each criterion or theweights of criteria can have a significant influence on the ultimate rank of ***,assessing the weights of criteria is a very important task in solving multi-criteria decision-making *** methods are commonly used for assessing the weights of criteria:objective,subjective,and integrated *** this study,an objective approach is proposed to assess the weights of criteria,called SPCmethod(Symmetry Point of Criterion).This point enriches the criterion so that it is balanced and easy to implement in the process of the evaluation of its influence on *** SPC methodology is systematically presented and supported by detailed calculations related to an artificial *** validate the developed method,we used our numerical example and calculated the weights of criteria by CRITIC,Entropy,Standard Deviation and MEREC *** analysis between these methods and the SPC method reveals that the developedmethod is a very reliable objective way to determine the weights of ***,in this study,we proposed the application of SPCmethod to evaluate the efficiency of themulti-criteria partitioning *** main idea of the evaluation is based on the following fact:the greater the uniformity of the weights of criteria,the higher the efficiency of the partitioning *** research demonstrates that the SPC method can be applied to solving different multi-criteria problems.

Occurrence of retained placenta is preceded by an inflammatory state and alterations of energy metabolism in transition dairy cows

Background： Failure to expel fetal membranes within 24 h of calving is a pathological condition defined as retained placenta（RP）. The objective of this investigation was to evaluate whether there are alterations in several selected serum variables related to innate immunity and carbohydrate and lipid metabolism that precede occurrence of RP in transition Holstein dairy ***： One hundred multiparous Holstein dairy cows were involved in the study. Blood samples were collected from the coccygeal vein during the-8 to ＋4 wks around parturition, once per week before the morning *** healthy control cows（CON） and 6 cows with RP were selected and serum samples at-8,-4, time of diagnosis of disease, and ＋4 wks relative to parturition were used for analyses. All samples were analyzed for lactate, nonesterified fatty acids（NEFA）, β-hydroxybutyrate（BHBA）, interleukin-1（IL-1）, interleukin-6（IL-6）, tumor necrosis factor（TNF）, haptoglobin（Hp）, and serum amyloid A（SAA）.Results： Cows with RP had greater concentrations of serum lactate, IL-1, IL-6, TNF, and SAA in comparison with CON cows. Intriguingly, elevated concentrations of all five variables were observed at-8 and-4 wks before the occurrence of RP compared to healthy cows. Cows with RP also had lower DMI and milk production vs CON animals; however milk composition was not affected by ***： Cows with RP showed an activated innate immunity 8 wks prior to diagnosis of disease. Overall results suggest that serum IL-1, IL- 6, and TNF, and lactate can be used as screening biomarkers to indicate cows that might have health issues during the transition period.

Profiling neuroprotective potential of trehalose in animal models of neurodegenerative diseases:a systematic review

Trehalose,a unique nonreducing crystalline disaccharide,is a potential disease-modifying treatment for neurodegenerative diseases associated with protein misfolding and aggregation due to aging,intrinsic mutations,or autophagy *** systematic review summarizes the effects of trehalose on its underlying mechanisms in animal models of selected neurodegenerative disorders(tau pathology,synucleinopathy,polyglutamine tract,and motor neuron diseases).All animal studies on neurodegenerative diseases treated with trehalose published in Medline(accessed via EBSCOhost)and Scopus were *** the 2259 studies screened,29 met the eligibility *** to the SYstematic Review Center for Laboratory Animal Experiment(SYRCLE)risk of bias tool,we reported 22 out of 29 studies with a high risk of *** present findings support the purported role of trehalose in autophagic flux and protein *** review identified several other lesser-known pathways,including modifying amyloid precursor protein processing,inhibition of reactive gliosis,the integrity of the blood-brain barrier,activation of growth factors,upregulation of the downstream antioxidant signaling pathway,and protection against mitochondrial *** absence of adverse events and improvements in the outcome parameters were observed in some studies,which supports the transition to human clinical *** is possible to conclude that trehalose exerts its neuroprotective effects through both direct and indirect ***,heterogeneous methodologies and outcome measures across the studies rendered it impossible to derive a definitive *** studies on trehalose would need to clarify three important questions:1)bioavailability with oral administration,2)optimal time window to confer neuroprotective benefits,and 3)optimal dosage to confer neuroprotection.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of generalized g-quasi-contractions in the setting of cone b-metric spaces over Banach algebras. By omitting the assump- tion of normality we establish common fixed point theorems for the generalized g- quasi-contractions with the spectral radius r（λ） of the g-quasi-contractive constant vector λ satisfying r（λ） ∈[0,1） in the setting of cone b-metric spaces over Banach al- gebras, where the coefficient s satisfies s ≥ 1. The main results generalize, extend and unify several well-known comparable results in the literature.
