In this paper,the authors explore the implementation of the government mandate in hong Kong to move from three-year to four-year undergraduate degree programs which include studies in general education(GE),through an analysis of policies and activities related to the curriculum *** the authors are interested in the substance of these reforms,the primary objective is to explore the relationships between policy initiatives and implementation approaches at different *** scott’s(2001)new institutional theory as a framework,the authors discuss the policy implementation at the governmental,institutional norms,and cultural *** focusing on the complex interrelationships among influences at different levels within the institution,this paper identifies challenges in the implementation of the new four-year curriculum,and using a case study of one institution,offers suggestions for facilitating that implementation.

China is abundant in iron-ore resources, with proven ore reserves of 576.62×10^8 t and proven reserves of 210×10^8 t, containing an average iron content of 33%. however, the rich iron-ore reserves of 10.85×10^8 t only account for 1.9% of all proven reserves. China＇s iron-ore resources are characterized by many lean ores and a few rich ones.

We report results in a 77-year-old male patient with visual loss from long-standing serpiginous choroidop- athy treated with bone marrow derived stem cells （BMsC） within the stem Cell Ophthalmology Treatment study （sCOTs）. sCOTs is an Institutional Review Board approved clinical trial and the largest ophthal- mology stem cell study registered at the National Institutes of health to date （*** Identifier： NCT01920867）. Eight months after treatment by a combination of retrobulbar, subtenon, intravitreal and intravenous injection of BMsC, the patient＇s best corrected snellen acuity improved from 20/80- to 20/60.1 in the right eye and from 20/50- to 20/20 3 in the left eye. The Early Treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy study （ETDRs） visual acuity continued to improve over the succeeding 8 months and the optical coherence tomography macular volume increased. The increases in visual acuity and macular volume are encouraging and suggest that the use of BMsC as provided in sCOTs may be a viable approach to treating serpiginous choroidopathy.

The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the third pole towering high in the world, has always been the object of extreme climate research. This is the most extensive high altitude area in the world, with an average altitude of 4000 meters. such a wide mountainous area absorbs more solar energy than one at sea level, so the winter here is cold and summer is broiling hot. In the 1950s, the Chinese atmospheric scientist Ye Duzheng and German meteorologist hermann Flohn both suggested that the air layer of the summer plateau was warmer than the sea and the air layer with the same altitude over land located at sea level, so that the temperature difference generated winds, which blow moist air from the ocean into the interior of the subcontinent of India, becoming a driving engine of the rainy season, the Monsoon.

since the discovery of oceanic manganese nodules during the expedition of the British ocean-going ship Challenger from 1872 to 1876, research and development for seabed manganese nodules have never ceased owing to the huge economic inducements. Manganese nodules are the black or dark brown, spherical or massive Mn-bearing ores, deposits of which are found on the sea bottom. The nodules are a mixture of silicate and insoluble potassium permanganates （also with sub-Ti, Fe and Na permanganates） that contain more than 30 kinds of metallic elements, among which those of greatest economic interest are Mn （27-30%）, Ni（1.25-1.5%）, Cu（1- 1.4%）, Co（0.2- 0.25 %）, Fe, si, and AI, with minor amounts of Ca, Na, K, Ti, B, h and O.

BACKGROUND: Ron receptor tyrosine kinase signaling in macrophages, including Kupffer cells and alveolar macrophages,suppresses endotoxin-induced proinflammatory cytokine/chemokine production. Further, we have also identified genes from Ron replete and Ron deplete livers that were differentially expressed during the progression of liver inflammation associated with acute liver failure in mice by microarray *** important genes and signaling pathways have been identified downstream of Ron signaling during progression of inflammation by this approach, the precise role that Ron receptor plays in regulating the transcriptional landscape in macrophages, and particular in isolated Kupffer cells, has still not been ***: Kupffer cells were isolated from wild-type(TK+/+)and Ron tyrosine kinase deficient(TK-/-) mice. Ex vivo, the cells were treated with lipopolysaccharide(LPs) in the presence or absence of the Ron ligand, hepatocyte growth factor-like protein(hGFL). Microarray and qRT-PCR analyses were utilized to identify alterations in gene expression between ***: Microarray analyses identified genes expressed differentially in TK+/+ and TK-/- Kupffer cells basally as well as after hGFL and LPs treatment. Interestingly, our studies identified Mefv, a gene that codes for the anti-inflammatory protein pyrin, as an hGFL-stimulated Ron-dependent ***, lipocalin 2, a proinflammatory gene, which is induced by LPs, was significantly suppressed by hGFL *** results were validated by qRT-PCR studies on Kupffer cells treated with LPs and ***: The studies herein suggest a novel mechanism whereby hGFL-induced Ron receptor activation promotes the expression of anti-inflammatory genes while inhibiting genes involved in inflammation with a net effect of diminished inflammation in macrophages.
