The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has affected over twenty million people worldwide since its outbreak,[1]in which approximately 19%are expected to progress to severe or critical disease,constituting the high-risk group for death.[2]The reported case-fatality rates among the severe COVID-19 varied a lot across different regions from zero to 61.5%[1,3]and the reason behind remained unclear.Very limited data concerning management of severe cases were reported from low case-fatality areas.In this study,we described the clinical features,multi-strategy management,and respiratory support resources usage for the severe COVID-19 in Sichuan province,where the 28-day case-fatality rate was 0.6%in all patients and 3.7%in severe cases,which was much lower compared with that reported in most of the studies worldwide.

What is already known on this topic?Following 110 days of no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tianjin Municipality,a case was confirmed on June 17,2020.A total of 136 local cases had been reported previously.What is added by this report?The 137th case was found in a dishwasher working in the western dining room of a hotel in Tianjin.Epidemiological investigations and laboratory research indicated that this case was likely transmitted from an asymptomatic individual that had recently visited several public places in Beijing Municipality and was working as a chef in the same workplace as the patient.Sequencing and analysis found that the COVID-19 virus genome found in the 137th case was 100%identical to sequences from the recent outbreak in Beijing’s Xinfadi Agricultural Product Wholesale Market.What are the implications for public health practice?A combination of meticulous epidemiological investigation and detailed laboratory research can promptly identify the source of COVID-19.

With the popularity and development of artificial intelligence(AI),disease screening systems based on AI algorithms are gradually emerging in the medical field.Such systems can be used for primary screening of diseases to relieve the pressure on primary health care.In recent years,AI algorithms have demonstrated good performance in the analysis and identification of lesion signs in the macular region of fundus color photography,and a screening system for fundus lesion signs applicable to primary screening is bound to emerge in the future.Therefore,to standardize the design and clinical application of macular region lesion sign screening systems based on AI algorithms,the Ocular Fundus Diseases group of Chinese Ophthalmological Society,in collaboration with relevant experts,developed this guideline after investigating issues,discussing production evidence,and holding guideline workshops.It aimed to establish uniform standards for the definition of the macular region and lesion signs,AI adoption scenarios,algorithm model construction,dataset establishment and labeling,architecture and function design,and image data acquisition for the screening system to guide the implementation of the screening work.

With the advent of the era of organ donation after citizen's death,split liver transplantation(SLT)can effectively increase the supply of donor livers and shorten the transplantation wait time for patients,especially pediatric recipients.In recent years,SLT has been performed to varying degrees in many transplant centers in China,and varying levels of efficacy have been achieved.The quality of donors and donor livers for SLT is an important factor affecting the outcome of the surgery.At this stage,it is necessary to reach a consensus on the evaluation of SLT donor and liver donor that is suitable for the conditions in China by combining the well-established experience of the international community with advanced transplantation technology.This approach will aid in enhancing the efficacy of SLT.Based on the experience of experts,a consensus on the evaluation of donors and donor livers for SLT has been formulated in this study,which focuses on evaluation of donors and donor livers,evaluating the functional and anatomical aspects of the donor liver and donorerecipient matching.

To date,five coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccines have been conditionally approved for market authorization or granted emergency use authorization in China by the National Medical Products Administration(NMPA).Three inactivated COVID-19 vaccines and one adenovirus-vectored vaccine were granted conditional approval,as phaseⅢclinical trial data for these four conditionally-approved vaccines have demonstrated protective efficacy levels that meet requirements of NMPA’s Guidelines for Clinical Evaluation of COVID-19 vaccine(interim version)and also meet requirements recommended by the World Health Organization(WHO)in their COVID-19 Vaccines Target Product Profile.

Hirschsprung disease(HSCR)is a congenital anomaly of the intestine caused by the developmental absence of the enteric nervous system,which results in variable lengths of intestinal dysfunction and requires surgical intervention.^([1])Due to the complex etiology,multiple surgical procedures and postoperative complications,the diagnosis and treatment strategies of HSCR have always been the focus of pediatric surgeons around the world.Seventy pediatric surgical experts with rich clinical experience from almost all national and provincial children’s medical centers in China constituted the Chinese Research group of Hirschsprung disease(CRGHSCR).
