Sugars promote graft union development in the heterograft of cucumber onto pumpkin

The use of heterografts is widely applied for the production of several important commercial crops,but the molecular mechanism of graft union formation remains poorly ***,cucumber grafted onto pumpkin was used to study graft union development,and genome-wide tempo-spatial gene expression at the graft interface was comprehensively *** analysis suggested that resumption of the rootstock growth occurred after both phloem and xylem reconnection,and the scion showed evident callus production compared with the rootstock 3 days after ***,transcriptome data revealed specific responses between the scion and rootstock in the expression of genes related to cambium development,the cell cycle,and sugar metabolism during both vascular reconnection and healing,indicating distinct ***,lower levels of sugars and significantly changed sugar enzyme activities at the graft junction were observed during vascular ***,we found that the healing process of grafted etiolated seedlings was significantly delayed,and graft success,xylem reconnection,and the growth of grafted plants were enhanced by exogenous *** demonstrates that graft union formation requires the correct sugar ***,we also found that graft union formation was delayed with a lower energy charge by the target of rapamycin(TOR)inhibitor AZD-8055,and xylem reconnection and the growth of grafted plants were enhanced under AZD-8055 with exogenous glucose *** together,our results reveal that sugars play a positive role in graft union formation by promoting the growth of cucumber/pumpkin and provide useful information for understanding graft union healing and the application of heterografting in the future.

Low- and Mid-High Latitude Components of the East Asian Winter Monsoon and Their Reflecting Variations in Winter Climate over Eastern China

The present study defines a low-latitude component (regionally averaged winter 1000-hPa V-winds over 10 25°N, 105 135°E) and a mid-high-latitude component (regionally averaged winter 1000-hPa V-winds over 30 50°N, 110 125°E) of the East Asian winter monsoon (EAWM), which are denoted as EAWM-L and EAWM-M, respectively. The study examines the variation characteristics, reflecting variations in winter climate over eastern China, and associated atmospheric circulations corresponding to the two components. The main results are as follows: 1) the EAWM-L and EAWM-M have consistent variation in some years but opposite variations in other years; 2) the EAWM-M index mainly reflects the extensive temperature variability over eastern China, while the EAWM-L index better reflects the variation in winter precipitation over most parts of eastern China; and 3) corresponding to the variation in the EAWM-M index, anomalous winds over the mid-high latitudes of East Asia modulate the southward invasion of cold air from the high latitudes and accordingly affect temperatures over eastern China. In combination with the variation in the EAWM-L index, anomalous low-latitudinal winds regulate the water vapor transport from tropical oceans to eastern China, resulting in anomalous winter precipitation. These pronounced differences between the EAWM-L and the EAWM-M suggest that it is necessary to explore the monsoons' individual features and effects in the EAWM study.

The Cold Vortex Circulation over Northeastern China and Regional Rainstorm Events

In this study,regional rainstorm events (RREs) in northeastern China associated with the activity of the Northeastern China Cold Vortex (NCCV) were investigated on a medium-range time *** RREs occurring in northeastern China could be categorized into three groups according to the distribution of heavy *** largest cluster is characterized by the rainstorm events that occur on the northwestern side of the Changbai Mountains along a southwest-northeast *** events occur most frequently during the post-meiyu *** authors place particular emphasis on the RREs that belong to the largest cluster and are closely associated with the activity of the *** RREs were preconditioned by the transportation of substantial amounts of water vapor to which the anomalous western Pacific subtropical high (WPSH) *** attendant anomalous WPSH was primarily driven by the anomalous transient eddy feedback forcing the nearby East Asian *** development of the NCCV circulation was concurrent with the RREs and acted as their primary causative factor.A perspective based on low-frequency dynamics indicates that Rossby wave packets emanated from the blocking-type circulation over northeastern Asia led to the development of the NCCV activity.

This paper tries to analyze cross-cultural pragmatic failure in English advertisements translated from Chinese at lexical and textual levels, and puts forward some suggestions on how to avoid cross-cultural pragmatic failure.

Physical Simulation of Nonmetallic Particle Movement in Al Melt under Electromagnetic Field

Physical simulation is used to study the movement of nonmetallic particles in Al melt in electro- magnetic field. It is found that the terminal velocity of particles in different Reynolds number range has different functions. By confirming drag force coefficient of nonmetallic particles with Reynolds number in the range of 0.2-10 and 10-25 respectively, two functions of terminal ve- locity for spherical nonmetallic particles have been got accordingly, which provide a theoretical basis for separating nonmetallic inclusions from Al melt in electromagnetic field.

An Evaluation of the Infection Status and Source of Subgroup J Avian Leukosis Virus in Cloned Free-Range Layers

In recent years, subgroup J avian leukosis virus （ALV-J） has been found to frequently infect layers in China. This virus is responsible for economic losses due to both mortality and decreased performance in chickens. In this study, 45-d-old cloned flee-range layers were suspected to be infected with ALV and other immunosuppressive diseases because their feathers were unkempt and their growth rate was impaired. To estimate the infection status and determine the source of ALV-J in the flock, 30 cloacal swabs were randomly collected to measure the p27 antigen level by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA）. Among the birds that were tested, 87% （26/30） were positive. In addition, 6 anticoagulant blood samples were aseptically collected at random from the flock when the layers were 60 d old. These samples were centrifuged to obtain the leukocytes, which were then used to inoculate chicken embryo fibroblast （CEF） cells for the identification of ALV-J by indirect immunofluorescence （IFA）. Of the samples tested, 100% （6/6） were positive. The flock＇s production performance was also investigated, and 10 layers were necropsied to evaluate pathological changes at 115 d of age. The flock never laid eggs even though they reached the age of the first laying （110 d）. Furthermore, there were pathological changes present, including atrophy of the thymus and bursa of Fabricius, undeveloped ovaries, glandular stomach haemorrhage, and hepatosplenomegaly. Paraffin-embedded sections of intumescent liver and spleen were prepared for antigen localisation using IFA. Positive signals were prevalent in paraffin-embedded sections of the intumescent liver and spleen. Furthermore, provirus DNA was extracted from 4 cloned flee-range layers, and 2 patemal parents （HR native cocks）, and the gp85 gene of ALV-J was amplified by PCR to analyse the genetic variation. The results of the autogenous variation analysis showed that the 6 strains were 98.5-99.7% homologous. This study indicated that there

Selective detection of phosphaphenanthrene-containing luminophors with aggregation-induced emission enhancement to transition metal ions

Transition metal ions(Pb^(2+),Zn^(2+),Cd^(2+),Co^(2+),Mn^(2+),Cu^(2+),Ni^(2+),Hg^(2+),Ag^(+),Fe^(3+))in water are used to quench emission of 2-(6-oxido-6H-dibenzoxaphosphorin-6-yl)-1,4-phenylene-bis(p-pentyloxylbenzoate)s(MD5)with aggregation-induced emission enhancement(AIEE)in water-acetonitrile(AN)mixture(80:20 by volume).Among all metal ions,Fe^(3+)exhibits the highest quenching efficiency on AIEE of MD5 even when the concentration of Fe^(3+)is lower than 1×10^(-6) mol/*** quenching efficiency of Hg^(2+)is lower than that of Fe^(3+)at the same concentration,though MD5 is used to detect Hg^(2+)efficiently,*** other metal ions,low quenching efficiency has few relations with a wider concentration *** UV absorbance spectra show only red shift of absorbance wavelength in the presence of Hg^(2+)and Fe^(3+),which indicates a salt-induced *** photos reveal larger aggregation and morphological change of nanoparticles of MD5 in water containing Hg^(2+)and Fe^(3+),which reduce the surface area of MD5 emission for further *** selective quenching effect of transition metal ions to emission of MD5 has a potential application in chemical sensors of some metal ions.

Application of RCSR Mechanism in Two-row Harvester Cutting Device

Traditionally, the transmission device for cutter adopts gear mechanism combined with planar crank-rocker mechanism. In line with this drawback, this paper presents a practical spatial linkage mechanism. Through three-dimensional modeling and kinematic analysis, it obtains the equation of motion for output displacement, speed and acceleration. Besides, it gets the kinetic curve through emulation. The emulation results indicate that RCSR mechanism can realize smooth and stable output of cutter, laying a foundation for future dimensional synthesis of the mechanism.

Heat stability of winter wheat depends on cultivars, timing and protective methods

Heat stress negatively affects wheat production in many regions of the *** present,sensitivity to heat stress remains one of the least understood aspects of wheat genetics and breeding,and measures for preventing heat stress are *** this study,we used three cultivars of winter wheat(GY2018,SL02-1 and SY20)to evaluate the effect of heat stress at different days after anthesis(DAA)on yield and *** stability of the cultivars were analyzed and evaluated for the effects of two kinds of regulators on wheat under heat stress *** treatment at 7 DAA led to the most substantial reduction in yield while GY2018 had the best heat stability with respect to yield,and demonstrated the most positive effects on several quality traits including protein content,sedimentation volume and glutenin and gliadin *** treatment at 14 DAA had the least reduction in yield,while SY20 had the best heat stability with respect to yield and heat treatment had minimal effects on *** treatment at 21 DAA had only a limited effect on yield,while SL02-1 had the best heat stability with respect to yield,but it showed the most negative effects on *** time at 14 DAA and protein content at 21 DAA can be used as indicators for detecting the stability of quality under heat *** the three studied cultivars,SY20 was the most sensitive to heat stress with the stable time decreasing from 26.4 to 9.1 min,a higher sedimentation volume at 7 DAA,and a lowerγ-gliadin content which increased 2.4-fold under high-temperature *** addition of various regulators had different effects:potassium dihydrogen phosphate(KDP)was more protective of yield with heat stress at 7 DAA,while Duntianbao(DTB)had better effects on quality with heat stress at 21 DAA.

针对多星座情况下多卫星同时故障时的接收机自主完好性检测的问题,分析了多卫星同时故障的原因及特点,提出基于极大似然比的分层完好性检测方法。通过奇偶向量矩阵的计算,根据极大似然估计,进行故障检测与隔离,利用全量检验统计值与部分检验统计值之间的关系进行故障卫星的确定,并利用接收机的数据进行仿真验证。仿真结果表明,本方法可以快速有效地实现多星座情况下的接收机自主完好性检测,检测出并隔离故障卫星。
