A load balancing multi-path routing scheme based on effective voids for optical burst switching networks

Multi-path routing in the optical burst switching(OBS) networks can reduce the burst loss probability(BLP) by distributing the data burst traffic to multiple paths, compared with single path routing. Unlike the other multi-path routing schemes without considering the carrying capability of the routes, a new multi-path routing scheme based on effective voids(MPEV) is proposed to balance the load of multi-path and reduce the BLP in the paper. MPEV scheme first obtains the information on effective voids of the bottleneck link of multipath by sending a probe packet periodically. The effective voids can accommodate data bursts and accurately represent the available channel resource that is the main determinant of the BLP for OBS networks without optical random access memory. Then MPEV scheme distributes the burst traffic between an ingress node and an egress node to multiple link-disjoint paths by the ratio of the effective voids. More traffic is distributed to the path that has more effective voids, and vice versa. And the distributed amount is proportional to the effective voids of the bottleneck link. So MPEV scheme can balance the load of multi-path routes and can effectively reduce the BLP by avoiding the high load of a single path. And it is easy to implement and agilely adapt to dynamic network traffic. The performance of MPEV scheme is analyzed by queuing theory and is evaluated by simulation. The numerical results show that the proposed scheme can effectively reduce the BLP and balance the traffic load over multiple paths at the same time.

NANOG: A promising target for digestive malignant tumors

NANOG has been extensively researched since its discovery by Chambers et al. NANOG is a homeodomain transcription factor and an essential regulator of embryonic stem cell(ESC) self-renewal, which inhibits differentiation. Cancer stem cells(CSCs) are a small subset of cells that are thought to drive uncontrolled tumor growth; CSCs retain the tumor capabilities of self-renewal and propagation. The existence of CSCs was recently shown by direct experimental evidence. NANOG is expressed in CSCs and ESCs, although it remains unclear whether ESCs and CSCs share similar mechanisms in the regulation of physical and biological processes. Several studies suggest that the expression level of NANOG is high in cancer tissues and low or absent in normal tissues. High levels of NANOG expression are associated with advanced stages of cancer and a poor prognosis, indicating that it plays a vital role in tumor transformation, tumorigenesis, and tumor metastasis. NANOG is part of a complex regulatory network that controls cell fate determination, proliferation, and apoptosis. NANOG cooperates with other regulators, such as microflora, transcription factors, and kinases, in cancer cells. NANOG might have a promising future in anti-cancer and other therapeutic treatments, which could improve human health.

Revealing the process of storage protein rebalancing in high quality protein maize by proteomic and transcriptomic

Quality protein maize(QPM)(Zea mays L.) varieties contain enhanced levels of tryptophan and lysine, exhibiting improved nutritive value for humans and livestock. However, breeding QPM varieties remains challenging due to the complex process of rebalancing storage protein. This study conducted transcriptome and proteome analyses to investigate the process of storage proteins rebalancing in opaque2(o2) and QPM. We found a weak correlation between the transcriptome and proteome, suggesting a significant modulating effect of post-transcriptional events on non-zein protein abundances in Mo17o2 and QPM. These results highlight the advantages of proteomics. Compared with Mo17, 672 differentially expressed proteins(DEPs) were identified both in Mo17o2 and QPM, and several of them were associated with storage protein, starch, and amino acid synthesis. We identified 178 non-zeins as DEPs in Mo17o2 and QPM kernels. The up-regulated non-zein DEPs were enriched in lysine, tryptophan, and methionine, which affected the protein quality. Co-expression network analysis identified regulators of storage protein synthesis in QPM, including O2,PBF1, and several transcription factors. Our results revealed how storage protein rebalancing occurs and identified nonzein DEPs that may facilitate superior-quality QPM breeding.

含铬皮屑的资源化利用一直是制革工业关注的核心问题,含铬皮屑产生、运输和处置过程都需要按照规范来进行。含铬皮屑全过程监管平台的缺失在一定程度上影响了含铬皮屑的规范化处置。文章设计并开发了一款包含有用户管理模块、企业信息上报模块、企业信息上报查询模块、企业含铬皮屑预警模块、含铬皮屑运输管理模块5大功能模块的监管平台软件。在此基础上,将企业实际生产情况引入本平台进行检验,根据检验结果提出了制革含铬皮屑全程监管平台软件的优化建议。

【目的】通过原核表达系统制备马链球菌兽疫亚种(SEZ)重组表面蛋白rSeseC-02147,并系统评价其抵御SEZ感染的免疫效力,为SEZ亚单位疫苗的研发提供候选抗原。【方法】构建原核表达载体pCold I-SeseC-02147,转化大肠杆菌BL21(DE3)感受态细胞后进行异丙基硫代半乳糖苷(IPTG)诱导,纯化回收重组蛋白rSeseC-02147并免疫BALB/c小鼠,以SEZ灭活疫苗为阳性对照、PBS为阴性对照,二免后第14 d于小鼠颌下静脉采集血清,分别采用Western blotting和酶联免疫吸附试验(ELISA)检测重组蛋白rSeseC-02147反应原性及小鼠血清抗体效价和抗体亚型属性;并通过小鼠免疫保护试验、腹腔灌洗液细菌载量测定及脏器组织病理学观察,系统评估重组蛋白rSeseC-02147对小鼠的免疫保护力。【结果】构建的原核表达载体pCold I-SeseC-02147经IPTG诱导能成功表达获得重组蛋白rSeseC-02147,其纯化后的浓度为2.86 mg/mL。重组蛋白rSeseC-02147能与免疫组和阳性对照组小鼠血清发生特异性反应,而与阴性对照组小鼠血清未发生特异性反应,表明重组蛋白rSeseC-02147具有良好的反应原性与特异性;以重组蛋白rSeseC-02147免疫小鼠产生的血清抗体效价远高于SEZ灭活疫苗,且IgG1亚型极显著高于IgG2a亚型(P<0.01,下同)。重组蛋白rSeseC-02147可为小鼠提供抵御SEZ感染的免疫保护力,攻毒后14 d内的存活率60%;此外,重组蛋白rSeseC-02147免疫小鼠后的腹腔灌洗液细菌载量极显著低于阴性对照组小鼠,且肺脏、肾脏和脾脏等组织的病理损伤程度较轻。【结论】通过原核表达系统制备获得的重组蛋白rSeseC-02147具有良好的特异性与反应原性,通过抑制SEZ增殖及减轻SEZ对机体脏器的损伤而发挥免疫保护作用。可见,重组蛋白rSeseC-02147具有开发成SEZ亚单位疫苗的潜力。

An Estimation Method of Stress in Soft Rock Based on In-situ Measured Stress in Hard Rock

The law of variation of deep rock stress in gravitational and tectonic stress fields is analyzed based on the Hoek-Brown strength criterion. In the gravitational stress field,the rocks in the shallow area are in an elastic state and the deep,relatively soft rock may be in a plastic state. However,in the tectonic stress field,the relatively soft rock in the shallow area is in a plastic state and the deep rock in an elastic state. A method is proposed to estimate stress values in coal and soft rock based on in-situ measurements of hard rock. Our estimation method relates to the type of stress field and stress state. The equations of rock stress in various stress states are presented for the elastic,plastic and critical states. The critical state is a special stress state,which indicates the conversion of the elastic to the plastic state in the gravitational stress field and the conversion of the plastic to the elastic state in the tectonic stress field. Two cases stud-ies show that the estimation method is feasible.

The increasing power density of IT electronics and the enormous energy consumption of data centers lead to the urgent demand for efficient cooling *** to its efficiency and safety,liquid-cooled heat sink technology may gradually replace air-cooled technology over *** the ambient or higher water supply temperature,the liquid-cooled technology shortens the operating time of the chiller and improves its coefficient of performance,while the pump power consumption may increase for satisfying the constant cooling ***,it is significant to study the optimal water supply temperature to achieve energy-efficient operation of data centers.A virtual 30.1 kW data center is considered as the case,the liquid-cooled system is constructed with a combination of innovative manifold microchannel heat sink with oblique fins and indirect evaporative cooling technology to minimize energy consumption.A hybrid thermal management model integrating the heat dissipation model and the power consumption model is established by TRNSYS and FLUENT *** the highest chip-safe operating temperature premise,the energy performance is analyzed under various water supply temperatures in *** result shows that only 21.5-hour mechanical cooling is needed with the 30℃server inlet temperature throughout the *** the minimized power consumption occurs with the constant 29℃server inlet ***,the temperature adaptive control strategy(TACS)is adopted to test the cooling system power consumption under different regulation frequencies,and the by-week TACS can achieve another 11.5%energy saving than the minimum power consumption of the constant temperature control strategy.
