A new interacting capillary bundle model on the multiphase flow in micropores of tight rocks

Surfactants are widely used in the fracturing fluid to enhance the imbibition and thus the oil recovery rate. However, current numerical models cannot capture the physics behind capillary imbibition during the wettability alteration by surfactants. Although the interacting capillary bundle(ICB) model shows potential in characterizing imbibition rates in different pores during wettability alteration, the existing ICB models neglect the influence of wettability and viscosity ratio on the imbibition behavior, making it difficult to accurately describe the oil-water imbibition behavior within the porous media. In this work,a new ICB mathematical model is established by introducing pressure balance without assuming the position of the leading front to comprehensively describe the imbibition behavior in a porous medium under different conditions, including gas-liquid spontaneous imbibition and oil-water *** the pore size distribution of a tight rock is known, this new model can predict the changes of water saturation during the displacement process in the tight rock, and also determine the imbibition rate in pores of different sizes. The water saturation profiles obtained from the new model are validated against the waterflooding simulation results from the CMG, while the imbibition rates calculated by the model are validated against the experimental observations of gas-liquid spontaneous imbibition. The good match above indicates the newly proposed model can show the water saturation profile at a macroscopic scale while capture the underlying physics of the multiphase flow in a porous medium at a microscopic scale. Simulation results obtained from this model indicate that both wettability and viscosity ratio can affect the sequence of fluid imbibition into pores of different sizes during the multiphase flow, where less-viscous wetting fluid is preferentially imbibed into larger pores while more-viscous wetting fluid tends to be imbibed into smaller pores. The inadequate quantity of hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))in cancer cells promptly results in the constrained success of chemodynamic therapy(CDT).Significant efforts made throughout the years;nevertheless,researchers are still facing the great challenge of designing a CDT agent and securing H_(2)O_(2) supply within the tumor *** this study,taking advantage of H_(2)O_(2) level maintenance mechanism in cancer cells,a nanozyme-based bimetallic metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)tandem reactor is fabricated to elevate intracellular H_(2)O_(2) levels,thereby enhancing *** addition,under nearinfrared excitation,the upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)loaded into the MOFs can perform photocatalysis and generate hydrogen,which increases cellular susceptibility to radicals induced from H_(2)O_(2),inhibits cancer cell energy,causes DNA damages and induces tumor cell apoptosis,thus improving CDT therapeutic efficacy *** proposed nanozyme-based bimetallic MOFs-mediated CDT and UCNPs-mediated hydrogen therapy act as combined therapy with high efficacy and low toxicity.

Exploring charge and spin fluctuations in infinite-layer cuprate SrCuO_(2)from a phonon perspective

The infinite-layer cuprate ACu O_(2)(A=Ca,Sr,Ba)possesses the simplest crystal structure among numerous cuprate superconductors and can serve as a prototypical system to explore the unconventional *** on the first-principles electronic structure calculations,we have studied the electronic and magnetic properties of the infinite-layer cuprate SrCuO_(2)from a phonon *** find that interesting fluctuations of charges,electrical dipoles,and local magnetic moments can be induced by the atomic displacements of phonon modes in SrCuO_(2)upon the hole *** all optical phonon modes of SrCuO_(2)in the antiferromagnetic Néel state,only the A_(1g)mode that involves the full-breathing O vibrations along the Cu-O bonds can cause significant fluctuations of local magnetic moments on O atoms and dramatic charge redistributions between Cu and O ***,due to the atomic displacements of the A_(1g)mode,both the charge fluctuations on Cu and the electrical dipoles on O show a dome-like evolution with increasing hole doping,quite similar to the experimentally observed behavior of the superconducting T_(c);in comparison,the fluctuations of local magnetic moments on O display a monotonic enhancement along with the hole *** analyses indicate that around the optimal doping,there exists a large softening in the frequency of the A_(1g)phonon mode and a van Hove singularity in the electronic structure close to the Fermi level,suggesting potential electron-phonon *** work reveals the important role of the full-breathing O phonon mode playing in the infinite-layer SrCuO_(2),which may provide new insights in understanding the cuprate superconductivity.

Developing and validating a predictive model of delivering large-forgestational-age infants among women with gestational diabetes mellitus

Relative difficulty distillation for semantic segmentation

Current knowledge distillation(KD) methods primarily focus on transferring various structured knowledge and designing corresponding optimization goals to encourage the student network to imitate the output of the teacher network. However, introducing too many additional optimization objectives may lead to unstable training, such as gradient conflicts. Moreover, these methods ignored the guidelines of relative learning difficulty between the teacher and student networks. Inspired by human cognitive science, in this paper, we redefine knowledge from a new perspective — the student and teacher networks' relative difficulty of samples, and propose a pixel-level KD paradigm for semantic segmentation named relative difficulty distillation(RDD). We propose a two-stage RDD framework: teacher-full evaluated RDD(TFE-RDD) and teacher-student evaluated RDD(TSE-RDD). RDD allows the teacher network to provide effective guidance on learning focus without additional optimization goals, thus avoiding adjusting learning weights for multiple losses. Extensive experimental evaluations using a general distillation loss function on popular datasets such as Cityscapes, Cam Vid, Pascal VOC, and ADE20k demonstrate the effectiveness of RDD against state-ofthe-art KD methods. Additionally, our research showcases that RDD can integrate with existing KD methods to improve their upper performance bound. Codes are available at https://***/sunyueue/***.

Discrete element modeling and verification of the simulation parameters for chopped hybrid Broussonetia papyrifera stems

In this study,the discrete element software EDEM was applied to establish a simulation model of non-uniform-sized particle units for Broussonetia papyrifera stalks,which aimed to address the low utilization rate of existing Broussonetia papyrifera harvesting machinery,the significant variation between the simulated model of Broussonetia papyrifera stalks and their actual appearance,as well as the absence of contact parameter *** a combination of the free-fall collision method,inclined plane sliding method,and inclined plane rolling method,numerical simulation was conducted to analyze the pattern of variations in contact parameters between Broussonetia papyrifera stalks and the steel material of the ***,these parameters were *** results showed that the coefficient of restitution between Broussonetia papyrifera stalks and steel materials was 0.321,the static friction factor was 0.589,and the rolling friction factor was *** the parameters of contact between Broussonetia papyrifera stalks as variables and the experimentally measured pile angle as the objective of optimization,the steepest ascent experiment and the three-factor five-level rotation combination experiment were *** this way,a second-order response model was constructed to analyze the relationship between the contact parameters and the pile *** the optimization analysis of experimental data,it was determined that the coefficient of restitution between Broussonetia papyrifera stalks was 0.21,the static friction factor was 0.24,and the rolling friction factor was ***,the calibration results were validated through experimentation to show that the relative error between the obtained pile angle under the context of optimal parameter combination and the actual one was 4.11%.In addition,the relative error of mass flow rate in spiral transport was within a reasonable range,this study lays a foundation both theoretically and statistic

HSP110 aggravates ischemia-reperfusion injury after liver transplantation by promoting NF-κB pathway

Background:Ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI)poses a significant challenge to liver transplantation(LT).The underlying mechanism primarily involves overactivation of the immune *** shock protein 110(HSP110)functions as a molecular chaperone that helps stabilize protein ***:An IRI model was established by performing LT on Sprague-Dawley rats,and HSP110 was silenced using ***-eosin staining,TUNEL,immunohistochemistry,ELISA and liver enzyme analysis were performed to assess IRI following *** blotting and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction were conducted to investigate the pertinent molecular ***:Our findings revealed a significant increase in the expression of HSP110 at both the mRNA and protein levels in the rat liver following LT(P<0.05).However,when rats were injected with siRNAHSP110,IRI subsequent to LT was notably reduced(P<0.05).Additionally,the levels of liver enzymes and inflammatory chemokines in rat serum were significantly reduced(P<0.05).Silencing HSP110 with siRNA resulted in a marked decrease in M1-type polarization of Kupffer cells in the liver and downregulated the NF-κB pathway in the liver(P<0.05).Conclusions:HSP110 in the liver promotes IRI after LT in rats by activating the NF-κB pathway and inducing M1-type polarization of Kupffer *** HSP110 to prevent IRI after LT may represent a promising new approach for the treatment of LT-associated IRI.
